Do you want a monthly statistic in WO?

It's ok. But you'll need to figure out a way to visualize the numbers.

If you think it's okay, I'll keep the statistics updated every month of the current year.

And if you do not like it, or you think this is useless, there's no problem, I throw it in the trash.

But I think that WO deserves a monthly statistic, in my opinion.

The increase in visits is reciprocal with the increase and decrease in the price of BTC.

More price = More visits
Less price = Less visits

I know we all know this, but it's good to see it in numbers, in our thread, It will only be published on the 1st of each month.

At the risk of waxing political, I learned from my accountant guy, overnight, that the majority of my tax obligations for 2018, were due to Obama's Affordable Care Act.

I cannot begin to describe the bitterness and anger I am currently experiencing.

Picked a bad time to quit drinking. Goddamnit.

Yup... "Net Investment Income Tax" ... got totally blindsided by that one when I was doing my taxes after the 2017 bubble....

Feeling your pain on this one... and rather disappointed it managed to stick around through this latest tax overhaul...

Trying not to be political here, but really I'm hoping Obamacare gets nixed in its entirety.. if only because of THIS TAX....

For anyone who isn't aware..  the NIIT is an additional tax of 3.9% on investment gains for anyone who has a total income (including investments) over 200k ...  so if you sell a significant amount, your long term capital gains are actually 23.9%, not 20% Sad

Oh, and don't get me started on the "Alternative Minimum Tax" ...

Your taxes helped poor people and an overwhelming amount of illegal aliens get basic healthcare!?

FTFY. Would rather have put ACA money into building the wall, to mitigate the arguable open border and flood of illegal immigration we are dealing with.

Also, I draw the line at my tax dollars being used for third trimester abortions, in the name of "basic healthcare".

I could not send you my only merit fast enough !!   Amen brother.

I too have been ripped off quit a bit by the ACA Surcharge. When I liquidated my long term stock portfolio
5 years ago to go all in on Bitcoin I was surprised with the 3.9 percent investment tax courtesy of the obamacare scam. I could have bought a lot more coins with that chunk.  Angry

I was annoyed when Republicans caved on taking it out of the tax code.

I dont understand how that was the majority of your tax obligations though, bc cap gains taxes are much larger.

OT: Y'know... the MSM is always blabbering on about how volatile Bitcoin's price is.

Have they even fkn looked at Chipotle's 10 yr price chart? Holy smokes. Talk about not understanding its valuation! I wouldn't touch that stock with a hundred foot pole.   Huh

I was so close to buying Chipotle stock when they IPOed. I likely would have done better than putting $40k into SAIC.

Buying a Chicken Burrito from Chipotle today sounds good. Thanks for the idea guys.

That's pretty much what I wanted to hear. Will seriously consider this for my settlement once I take care of some other things first.

Can't wait to visit the restaurant for starters. Do you have any timeline for it?

And probably my last question about seasteading in general. How likely is it that your boat would get rekt and what do you do in such a situation?

Likely timeline for the restaurant is a matter of months. I'm in for a busy summer (people keep asking if I get bored on the seastead...).

The likelihood of our seastead getting rekt is very minimal. I think we've seen the biggest winds for the year while we were out there our first few weeks. We woke up every morning expecting some damage but it was just fine.

The production version will be extra safe. The interior of the spar will be completely void of any holes (seacocks/valves/etc). So in the very worst case scenario you can close off your spar and hunker down like going into your basement. Or you have the option of staying in your platform which is also a life raft. The two are not connected so if the spar sinks, the platform stays up. If the platform falls off (or something happens to it) you can go into the spar.

But most likely if the storm of the century is coming through...you go to one of the nearby islands and wait out the storm.

We are building the seasteads to withstand 5 meter waves. Where we are located the highest wave we should see in 100 years is 5 meters. High but rare. Average is about .5 meter waves.
