LTC is on the move..
you know who is next  Cool Cool

I wish I bought more ltc while it was around $30. People said LTC is dead it is just a copy of Bitcoin and that was in 2015 when ltc was $2-5. It went as high as $350. A fucking x100. (BTC did the same too... from 200 to 20k. Another x100)

Maybe it is a shitcoin, maybe it doesn't have any real development but I am damn sure It is not going down like peercoin or namecoin.

Anyway I didn't buy enough LTC but I still have the chance to buy more BTC, first thing in the morning throwing another $100  Cheesy

The new green deal shit is the craziest thing I have ever witnessed being pushed in American politics. Literally the only thing that would come from that would be the downfall of the US.

I don’t understand how basic stuff like not polluting rivers is the craziest thing you have ever witnessed.  And not sure why it would lead to the downfall of the USA.  But ok.
Although I'm not sure if wind power and whatnot is the most effective way of reducing emissions, I don't get the general attitude against going green either.

I've been wondering if bridging the gap with nuclear power while investing heavily into nuclear fusion wouldn't be better than putting the same resources into wind. Solar seems reasonable for decentralization at the very least though.
Keep in mind that nuclear power was researched for war purposes. As a result the nuclear power reactors that we have now aren't anywhere near as efficient or clean (less dirty) as they could be.

And in general, not polluting your environment should be a no-brainer. I don't think anyone would be dumb enough to argue the negative health implications of smoking at this point, and polluting the shit out of the environment is comparable to at least a weaker form of that.

Still not sold on "climate change" though. Too many unknown variables. If we had any clue how earth's ecosystem worked we'd be controlling the weather.

I lived in China for about six months.  In Shanghai, in the French concession.  I was working for a company in the Jing'an district.  This gave me the opportunity to experience first hand what it is like to live in a country with little to no environmental regulations.  It has been awhile since I have been there so things may have changed a bit since but I have my doubts.

  • I went out to the bars on Bund one night and came home piss drunk.  Hopped in the shower and was thirsty and drunk so took a big mouthful of water.  I nearly vomited and was instantly sober.  Shanghai tap water is disgusting - no one drinks it except the very poor.  It tastes like liquid metal with god knows what mixed in
  • I was driving home in a taxi one winter evening and looked out the window at the beautiful snow fall.  Then I realised it was still well above freezing.  The falling "snow" was just fly ash from the local coal fired power station
  • A friend of mine landed at the airport.  I went to collect her.  On the taxi ride into the city she commented on the moon which was high in the sky.  I told her 'no' that's the sun and its just smog that make it look dim.  We then had an argument about whether it was the sun or the moon.  I was right and she was wrong.

Here is a picture of what Shanghai looks like on a typical day

Here is a photo of Beijing, which tends to be worse than Shanghai

A pic from Shijiazhuang which is further inland

You guys might think that environmental regulations are killing the USA and UK, but I suggest the opposite.  A lack of environmental regulations are killing China and places in Asia.  All the rich Chinese establish anchor homes in the West, in part just so they can get away from the pollution.

Think twice before you advocate for getting rid of environmental protections.  You might think that the EPA is communist, but it is truly awful living somewhere without proper environmental controls.  I was offered a pay rise if I would stay for another six months after my contract was up, but I got the fuck out of China and have never been back.  Once I got off the plane in the West and walked into the airport parking lot, all I could smell was this wall of fresh air and flowers.  That memory is absolutely seared into my brain after six months of living in smog.

Some more information just so you don't think I am making it up:

Quote
Can I drink the tap water in China?

No, the tap water in China is not safe to drink. Unlike most western countries where there is easy access to safe tap water, in most places in China the tap water, although it looks clear, is not safe for drinking unless it has been boiled. Even in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai, water from the tap is not well filtered, sterilized, or purified, and may carry hazardous contaminants like sediments, rusts, bacteria, virus, chlorines, or other heavy metals. Sicknesses like diarrhea caused by drinking unclean water may spoil your trip.

China's air pollution crisis shows no sign of ending as nation fails to lower coal use  10 January 2017

For the last month, severe air pollution has choked Beijing and coal is estimated to cause about 40 per cent of the smog in the nation's capital. Other cities in the north, such as Shijiazhuang, have recorded air quality of 1000 PM2.5. PM2.5 are fine particles less than 2.5 micrometres in diameter that can lodge in the lungs and get into the bloodstream. The World Health Organisation says anything over 25 PM2.5 as a health hazard

No one thinks that way except few exemptions that oppose just anything. Bigger countries like China or USA have lots of land to ruin. Smaller countries realized long long time ago how valuable every inch of nature is. You cant have serious tourism without it.

The US is the biggest endorser of Bitcoin.

I just had a strange thought.

I don't know If I will able to express myself like I would in my native language but I'll try my best.

Does anybody find it weird that technologies like mp3, napster, torrent, bitcoin are almost always invented in the US where you get thrown in Jail if you don't pay your taxes or use pirated software, in other words, where the law is too strict?

Now I know what you'll counter me with this: "USA is the most developed country yo noob what did you expect?"

Just stay a while and listen.

I am not talking about that.

It is like they do it on purpose.

It is like they didn't shut down the torrent network willingly. I know they jailed the TPB owner and shut down their website many times but I don't believe they really wanted it. Cuz: "Last remaining Pirate Bay founder freed from jail"

They do it on purpose so people with minimum wages can enjoy movies and books other stuff where only the rich can enjoy "legally".

You become an illegal when you pirate a software but only if you get caught and unless you are too dumb, you'll never get caught.

They are trying to suppress the anger which is raising among the people by giving them these sedatives. If the anger raises to a certain point, it'll become a riot. >> See France.

This is one of the reasons why they invented Bitcoin.

To give people a chance to enjoy the stuff that only the rich enjoy. (like lambos)

I mean there are tons of other reasons but I am sure this is one of them.

The FIAT rich people, naturally, always want to get richer. And in this system, there are thousands of them and they all want to live without working. When there are too many of those freeloaders, the system gets clogged down. And we are already there. In other words, the system has failed.

These rich people need to get poorer. You'll either have to kill them one by one (which'll take lots of effort) or you need to find a way to affect all of them with one trick. What trick would that be? By introducing a new monetary system!

...to make those old kings poorer some other people need to get richer and who do you think these new elite are? Crypto adopters.

The beauty of this,

If guys like Warren Buffet don't join this game, He'll lose shitloads of potential gains because if he doesn't some other rich dude will. And If he decides to join, then he just speeds up the process! of the desctruction of his FIAT investments!

They make news about bitcoin and how it is being used by terrorists and drug dealers but then what? They don't shut coinbase down, instead they say they'll eventually approve the bitcoin ETF!

They make it incredibly painful to use banks but then they also introduce a semi-legal system where it is all free and easy!! (like bitcoin)
They make it fairly expensive to buy movies, books etc for a minimum wage worker but then they also introduce the alternative, torrent!!

Weird.

Edit: Just saw this:

So things are a bit messy with TPB. Dunno what his last situation is.

If I remember correctly youtube was also supposed to be illegal and was getting sued (by sony i think and some others). And i would dare to think that majority of things on google was illegal at that time, but then google stepped in......and ...money talked. Now majority of things on youtube is not illegal, but there is still a lot of illegal things, but now google owns it (alphabet)

If you're gonna make hats, should you not wear one to represent yourself?
I think it's the signature campaign he is with that requires to wear their avatar. I can feel him.

The same goes to me. I wish I can wear my hat but the campaign I am with is paying me 0.04BTC a month and I value every single sats.

Today I made a hat, which I called "to the moon". I would be glad if someone would wear it. Due to the fact that my laptop is weak in performance, it’s not quite what I want to do.

Weird.

Nothing weird. Right after Hal Finney the next recipient was a white hacker group connected to US Military. Coincidence sure.

Just like Litecoin is Chinese Government associated. If anyone thinks a ordinary Chinese Farmer moved to Africa in the 1970/80 spends a couple of years there, then moves to US and sends his kids to private schools and MIT UNI is delusional. The average Chinese at that time could even afford to get to the Airport.

Edit:
Charlie Lee was born in the west African nation of Ivory Coast in 1977 When he was 13, (1990) Lee moved with his family to the United States, graduating high school in 1995 and attending MIT. Ivory Coast public schooling is so good that some years later graduating us high school is no issue. More realistic son of Chinese embassy staff with private schooling throughout.

I see what you mean, but I honestly think it's just a coincidence, Many of the things you mention are built by enthusiasts and purposely made to be hard to stop and ban. And that's why they are still around, it's impossible to find and take to court everyone who has ever downloaded a copyrighted movie or book via the torrent network.

Hackers are people with high programming knowledges. white hat are a group of hackers. defcon is an event for hackers.
Hackers are not bad people, they are capable of identifying bugs in softwares and protocols. they fix these bugs or make them public through CVE so the concerned will be aware and fix them.
Hackers are inovatif and help securing software (Bitcoin-qt for example). hackers are the only people that can protect people from scammer and spying. that's why I think the word hacker deserve some respect.
