You can get that much out of an ATM in Canada?   Huh   Shocked

No problem. Some machines allow up to $10k per day to stay within AML limits.

My local ATM allows up to $5k per day but I had to split it into 2 $2.5k transactions.

Paid me all in brownies ($100 bills) after only 2 confirmations. Fast, clean and simple.

I give this rubber band an hour tops before it snaps. ATH 9990€ Bitstamp.

9990 € @ Kraken too...

This time I see the $ market has risen a bit, and this may provide the final push past the 10000 € mark.

I think so. Smells like a breakout as soon as 10k€ mark arrives

How does paper wallet work?

Determine your private key. Write it down on a piece of paper. Done.

It'll 'work' for as long as you keep it hidden from prying eyes, and are still able to read what is written on the paper.

The term has been generalized to convey the concept of affixing a private key - in visible alphanumeric form - upon any tangible medium by any means (e.g., stamped into metal).

Indeed. "Paper" can mean anything from keys stamped in metal to JPG files.

Because I hate having to type keys accurately, I prefer JPGs stored on multiple encrypted microSD chips, hidden in multiple off-site locations.

I do keep an an actual paper wallet at home with a small amount in it, for emergencies like today. Of course I'll still keep the swept wallet. It still has Bcash and Bgold in it.

Pretty much..  Hodl 'em if you got 'em.  Or front run their game, if you have that skill set/luck/balls.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"

Parabolic rises always end in tears... for somebody.

Truest words on this forum.

Or... Recovery from crash always ends up in big smiles :p
Depends on your point of view! hodlers will be happy regardless

I've been through a crash. Been underwater in bitcoin. But I didn't cry, and I didn't sell at a loss. I just DCA-ed down and hodled. And had to listen to the squawk of bears and trolls for 18 months straight.

Now I have big smile. And balls of steel. Grin

When it happens again, I'll just do the same.

I think that you are referring to 2014 and 2015 as your 18months of putting up with bear troll bullshit, and including in that time frame a considerable amount of time of your BTC related holdings being in the red.

I think that mine were in the red a large portion of the time from late 2013 until early 2016, so more than 2years of being in the red - although through much of early 2016, I was kind of on the borderline of being in the red and black depending on accounting methodologies, too.... so even though BTC prices largely bounced around between $350 and $450 for an extended period of time in early 2016 and many troll bear nutjobs speculated that BTC prices would never, ever, ever, go above $500 again, I remained fairly content during that period, even though I kind of felt that I was in a kind of "break even" status.

also a good idea to punch the key into titanium, but so small it can only be read by a special microscope, then dump that sucker in the Marianas Trench

Ugh. I feel like such a loser. I just swept a paper wallet with 0.4BTC in it.
I needed a little cash in a hurry so I bought $5000CAD at the local ATM.
Phuque I hate spending any of my precious coins but I guess if I had to do it, today was as good a time as any. Unfortunately, the sell rate was up so I only got a little over $14k per coin including fees.
Hopefully I'll get to buy it back soon.
Jimbo sodl! epic!

Bitcoin is dead.

God.  It might be this time!

This would be a short term bearish indicator.

How does paper wallet work? Just hearing of it for the first time.

It depends on your inclinations. Here are two popular alternatives.

It takes a little work, but it's the most secure way to hold bitcoins.

Some ATMs generate paper wallets for you but then you have to trust the ATM operators. They're also usually printed on thermal paper so it's wise to transfer them to paper wallets you generate yourself.

It's also a good idea to print them on a printer that is never connected to an internet-connected computer. Printers can be hacked.

Spending is easy. Just use the sweep option of a mobile wallet. In Mycelium  wallet, tap the 3 little dots in the upper right corner and choose "Cold Storage".

This will allow you to transfer all the coins to your wallet app. If you don't want to spend all your coins immediately, you can transfer the remainder to another paper wallet.

This is why I prefer to keep my coins in many wallets. You can sweep a wallet with only as many coins as you want to spend or feel comfortable carrying in your phone.
