Where is Fillippone now?

Sorry, I was a little bit obfuscated, and I forgot the compulsory WO sign.

Good thing it's past all those British blokes' bedtimes - give the rest of us a chance.

I'm going to say Brighton Palace Pier looking toward the i360 tower.

You really got bull's eye

Coastal sides are always fun to visit.

Let me share my travel diary from last month (Sep 2023).

Jeddah Fountain, Jeddah - Saudia Arabia.

Its the highest fountain in the sea. I just saw it from distance so cant say how high water goes but the place is quite and good to visit.

Damn that was impressive!

Already visited that place or how did you know?

I didn't already know but it wasn't dark yet here when he posted it (so right away, I decided 5 or 6 time zones east and so I ruled out anything east of France), the architecture combined with the cathedral in the center of the image made me think it was in Europe also.  Obviously it was coastal, the needle was something to hone in on and I figured he was on a boat or a pier... then I made out the ruins in the far left of the image which appeared to be in the water near the needle.  I don't remember my exact search term but I found an image of Brighton that looked a lot like Fillippone's and then I went to google maps to Brighton to have a closer look.  My wife and my youngest daughter love helping out - it's fun for the whole family and also a learning experience.  Unfortunately, someone always wants to travel to these places once we "discover" them.   Angry

This is an opinion-market article , it is the opinion of an analys t, and I feel that to be more realistic it can reach 100 thousand dollars , but it is valid, this type of article motivates anyone , it has a good foundation.

I am a 1000% believer in bitcoin and these articles should be sent to the economists who are against this, so that they learn that when it is fulfilled, how they will be.

hey, I can help! I asked chatGPT to explain this post. here is chatGPTs explaination:

as you can see his sentence structure is very dense in information, compression level high, impossible to understand for other people like us

@StockmoneyL
Does the ongoing geopolitical and humanitarian crisis have an impact on financial markets? Absolutely.

Nevertheless, there are compelling reasons why we anticipate #Bitcoin  will achieve a new one year high before the halving.

Our target: 48k before the halving, and here's why:

🔹Temporary war-related market effects (source: investopedia.com)

🔹Pending approval of a Bitcoin spot ETF, drawing substantial investments from major financial institutions

🔹Escalating global inflation rates in countries like Venezuela (400%), Zimbabwe (172%), Argentina (113%), Sudan (71.6%), and Turkey (47.8%) (source: Forbes, Aug 2023)

🔹Upcoming halving event, intensifying scarcity-driven price increases

🔹A growing influx of institutional investors embracing Bitcoin, solidifying its investor base (source: NASDAQ.com)

'The right to privacy matters'
What's up WO folks.

I haven't frequent this corner of the internet for quite some time. The spamming of ChartBuddy sure doesn't help. He need to shut up...

I fricking did it though, amboss.space rank my lightning node as #1

The node has a total capacity of ~17 BTC, and is routing on average 0.5 BTC per day. Happy routing!

What kind of earning do you get with that size?

And how much of your coin stays in the pot?

I am curious 👀 because I want to get an ides how easy it will be for bitcoin to scale rewards down the road.

The earnings are ridiculously low, considering the btc I stake.

I did try to maximize my earnings for a while. By that, I provided liquidity to the LOOP channel, which provides a lightning/on-chain swap service at a very favorable fee for the node who open to them.

In order to do that, I constantly have to open a channel with LOOP, since they close the channel once it's drained on their side. This activity would quickly make me run out of inbound liquidity unless I can get lightning to on-chain btc at a cheaper price than LOOP. For that I used Nicehash and Kraken. The increased activity with Kraken got me audited though. They questioned me about the source of funds, even though I've been a customer of theirs for close to a decade.

During this time, my earnings was close to 300k sats ($80) per month. Now, after I've stopped this aggressive channel opening with LOOP, it's closer to 100k sats ($27) per month. 6-8 months more at this rate and my hardware investment will pay off.

My node is fairly balanced, so out of the 17 BTC capacity it has, 8 BTC or so is provided by me. So, like I said, the earnings are ridiculously low. It's self-hosted though. I don't need to trust my funds with any 3rd part.

Thank you for the service you are offering to others as you provide liquidity to many..

But fuck $80 in coin when you have $216,000 staked so to speak is brutal.

And the $80 earned was when you were aggressive.
Only $27 earned when mellow.

I was hoping you were going to say better numbers.

P.S. sorry I missed your reply.

Well theoretically it is possible but are we already prepared for this?

Bitcoin price could hit $750K to $1M by 2026 — Arthur Hayes

Quote
“Chopping around $25,000 to $30,000 this year as we get to some sort of financial disturbance and people recognize that real rates are negative. If the economy is growing at a nominal rate of 10%, but I’m only getting 5% or 6%, even though it’s high, people on the margin are going to start buying other stuff, crypto being one of those things.”

Quote
The eventual approval of a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund in the U.S., Europe and perhaps Hong Kong, plus the halving event, could push the price to a new all-time high at $70,000 in June or July of 2024. Regaining the all-time high by the end of 2024 is when the “real fun starts and the real bull market starts,” and Bitcoin enters the “750,0000 to $1 million on the upside.”

Never selling
Thanks for the suggestions and valuations on the ledger story  Smiley

Now, i had a few accounts (wallets) with relatively minor shitcoin balances on it as well. According to the ledger docs, i will have to restore all balances on the new device using the old seed, send all tokens to intermediate exchange or local client wallets, reset the new device, set it up as new, reinstall the bitcoin app and transfer Bitcoin from sold shitcoins (exchange wallet) and recovered Bitcoin (local client) to it.

Yep, seems i got some extra things to do  Wink

Don't use the ledger generated seed, I highly doubt their random number generator is actually random, true randomness is very hard to achieve. Create your own with dice then send all you coins to the addresses from that new seed directly from you old restored seed. Then wipe the device and restore with your new seed. No intermediates required and more secure. Or maybe I'm just over the top.
