It is already done. And they wil not close the miners. Only, BTC will be produced for export exlusively. The BitCHcoin probably will be traded in Yuan also.

Random tax question: If I give my bitcoin to invest in a start-up, such that it's valuation is determined by by my investment, then can how are capital gains determined? I am not selling it for cash, or trading it for real goods with a tangible value. I do not think the legal machinery is established to say that at the time of investment (in this hypothetical start-up), my capital gains are determined by the USD average exchange rate of all all US bitcoin exchanges, especially if I have some contorl over the valuation of this start-up...

if you are contrasting r/bitcoin as compared with r/btc, then r/bitcoin is the normal and sane discussion of bitcoin related topics.
If you believe that some injection of retardedness, fantasy and bullshit shilling is necessary, then you would suggest that r/btc is the more "normal" group that is engaged in their constant and ongoing distractions, off-topicness, personal attacks, pettiness and unnecessary and ill-justified attempts to sabotage bitcoin.
I understand some folks drink the nutjob koolaide, and attempt to assert that it would be "more fair" to inject more nutjob fantasy thinking into normal and regular discussions about bitcoin and its direction... a kind of subtle attack on bitcoin and fantasy way of thinking.

Why would they be? The PBoC isn't anti-Bitcoin. It's all about capital controls and money leaving the country. Mining is productivity.
I wouldn't be surprised if the PBoC themselves got into the BTC/CNY exchange business. They could limit BTC withdrawals within the current foreign exchange limits, steal the big three's business, and make tons of money.

OK I'll try again. I see I didn't search back carefully enough to see that Oct 2, 2017 was already taken when I posted this morning.
For the same reasons, I'll have to take Oct 1,2017 even though it's a Sunday. If it's already gone, I guess I'll have to take Oct 6, 2017 which is the nearest available date following.
