Bearstamp
There's only 59 bitcoins left in that bearwall, down from 350 or so. Not bearstamp for too much longer, I think.

If that agreement and its participants is true then they almost certainly can get the hashing power to do it. Gotta say I'm slightly shocked there ain't one exchange or developer on there but perhaps they're expected to come on board.

HOLY SHIT

whats going on in Altcoin-land Huh
Very surprised that alts are still rising - everything has gone crazy over the last few days - I'm out on quite a few positions due to such a crazy pump. Sure it'll be back down again at some point

A BTC450 sell wall at $2125.00 on Stamp, once it gets eaten through, expect it to fly to the $2160-70 region or some dipping if it gets cancelled. It's falling fast though, BTC10 at a time!

Yup, lowered to $2125 and a dip bellow $2100 in price :/

...2060 now, BTC390 to go

So is it an attempt to stop the User activated fork getting traction ?

Probably yes.Very suspicious!
Read the following link.

To be clear, the proposal as far as I can see does not activate BIP141, but is a completely new deployment which would be incompatible with the BIP141 deployment. I'm not sure how that can be considered "immediate" activation. Surely immediate activation would just be for miners to start signalling and segwit would be activated in 4-5 weeks. The proposal seems to require a lower 80% threshold, I assume because they were unable to convince 95% of the hashpower to go trigger activation.

I think the Barry Silbert agreement is very ill considered, and clearly lacking peer review from the technical community. Suggestions of a HF in 4 months are completely unrealistic and without technical merits. But more importantly, closed door agreements between selected participants is not how to garner consensus to change a $30bn decentralized system. The purpose of my email is to try and assist in the "immediate activation of segwit" which only requires hashrate to participate; and to provide some techincal input since I have done a great deal of research and development into the topic.

Yeah, seems misleading, without blockstream and bitcoin core devs

Those are the same actors that lost a lot of money trying to stop bitcoin appreciation. Without Blockstream and core devs this fork goes nowhere.

Clueless!

Exactly. Will likely work to make more fractured camps imho. Or again,
Bitcoin core will just at as a blocker, on this cluster go around into 2018.

Then again, pigs they may be a flying. 🤔

We agree to immediately support the following parallel upgrades to the bitcoin protocol, which will be deployed simultaneously and based on the original Segwit2Mb proposal:

·         Activate Segregated Witness at an 80% threshold, signaling at bit 4

·         Activate a 2 MB hard fork on September 21, 2017

The following companies have committed to provide technical and engineering support to test and support the upgrade software, as well as to assist companies with preparing for the upgrades:

·         Bitcoin.com

·         BitFury

·         BitGo

·         Bitmain

·         BitPay

·         Blockchain

·         Bloq

·         RSK Labs

·         Xapo

We are also committed to the research and development of technical mechanisms to improve signaling in the bitcoin community, as well as to put in place communication tools, in order to more closely coordinate with ecosystem participants in the design, integration and deployment of safe solutions that increase bitcoin capacity

We welcome all companies, miners, developers and users to join us and help prepare bitcoin for the future

Don't think this will find an overall agreement. Furthermore look at the attendies. Mostly Ver's site.Where's the other site?
No with that Hf crap again this will not get through.

Yeah, seems misleading, without blockstream and bitcoin core devs it will simply be them
in blocking mode now, for that last needed 20%. Rather then BU etc

Just a flip of roles. Looks like continued stalemate to me.

No with that Hf crap again, especially in such a short timeframe, this will not get through.
