This should only fuel the panic in the markets. Be careful with your investments guys.

Saudi and Turkey planning to put ground troops in Syria, who i believe are opposed to Iran and Russia

Yea it might not be in the mainstream media but the world is really at the edge of something really really bad.

Hopefully the ruling persons do not make fatal decision.
If the retard Saudis want to start a World War, leave them alone and let them be crushed by Russia.

Also I guess the recent drop in Stocks / Spikes in Gold are just the beginning. There is much much more downside in the stock markets.

I mean the S&P500 was at 700 points at the financial crises in 2008. So if this strikes we could see over a 60% drop. This will likely get much worse then in 2008.

Greece was the fore-runner, the next phase is bank runs in Italy as depositors realise that they are unsafe with bail-ins and non-performing loans exceeeding 17-25% of all loans.

Italy banking crises will now become the focus and will cause monetary crisis to quickly go global.

has it already begun

It's in the works. I'm currently recruiting most of JPL and Nasa's staff to complete the project. I'll award you the honour of the first beta test.

Make Bitcoin glow with ENIAC

That was obvious once they gave up trying to make CPUs run faster and started cramming more and more cores into computers. I remember when each year the latest CPU's speed was far faster than the previous year's model. Over the last few years I haven't noticed any dramatically faster CPUs on the market.

My laptop's seven or so years old and I can't detect much or any improvement in the stuff on the market now unless you're spending big bucks. I guess the development'll go into size and efficiency now.

It's similar to technology overall. In the 1960s we were looking forward to going on holiday around Jupiter. Instead we get phones that can record the decibel levels of our farts while we sleep.

Next month, the worldwide semiconductor industry will formally acknowledge what has become increasingly obvious to everyone involved: Moore's law, the principle that has powered the information-technology revolution since the 1960s, is nearing its end.

but.. but technology must go forward for bitcoin to scale to 100GB block size  Cry

GPUs have a lot of untapped (general processing) potential and since they excel in certain things that can be parallel-processed, they could be an ideal match for Bitcoin software. Bitcoin used them once for mining, perhaps they will be used again for processing / validating transactions. So in terms of processing power we can do "leaps" in short time frames. I don't know if the same can be said for networks and storage though.

Overall, the debate has proven to be as acrimonious as it has been divisive. Accusations that Bitcoin Classic essentially constitutes a coup, as well as allegations that Bitcoin Core is acting at the behest of the startup Blockstream, have thus far colored the nature of the debate in recent weeks.

Enjoying this SO0o00 much you guys!
So happy to be a part of this paradigm shift, to witness & document this disruption for posterity! Smiley

Just curiosity. Does ETH has scalability issues? Same as BTC or different? And monero?

Some link pinpointing to it?

https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/blob/6cb2fe00a61273b1b3807bf16d5ac6e51b690826/pages/white-paper/%5Benglish%5D-white-paper.md

"One common concern about Ethereum is the issue of scalability. Like Bitcoin, Ethereum suffers from the flaw that every transaction needs to be processed by every node in the network. With Bitcoin, the size of the current blockchain rests at about 15 GB, growing by about 1 MB per hour. If the Bitcoin network were to process Visa's 2000 transactions per second, it would grow by 1 MB per three seconds (1 GB per hour, 8 TB per year). Ethereum is likely to suffer a similar growth pattern, worsened by the fact that there will be many applications on top of the Ethereum blockchain instead of just a currency as is the case with Bitcoin, but ameliorated by the fact that Ethereum full nodes need to store just the state instead of the entire blockchain history."

Today’s release is unlikely to change this state of affairs.

Perhaps, but it does end the uncertainty.

Ether up another 25% today. Is this you doing this??

Even if there are various physical limits and even limits in other theoretical alternatives in current technologies, there seems to remain a whole hellava lot of potential for how existing technologies are strung together and implementations.

For example, cryptocurrencies are going to bring a lot of new implementations of already existing physical technologies
