I think the images mean that we're definitely going to the moon, because we already saw that we're definitely staying above $200 in may.

yes

Well, a treaty violation could be a cassus belli. That kind of stuff could escalate quickly.

Then I would have expected tanks before the ECB headquarters when they started to obviously monetizing government debts as forbidden in the EU treaty. Besides, sending tanks to Greece to keep them in the EU?

so thats it, greeks are getting out of the EUR?

It means they are not accepting the proposed deal, but there will be more talks soon. AFAIK there's no way to leave the Eurozone without leaving the EU completely.
And there is no way to leave the EU. The treaties don't allow that.

They will probably find a way to change the treaties. The Germans said the Greeks were voting on whether to stay in the EU or not, despite what the referendum question was.

Mr. Gabriel, the German economics minister said “But it must be crystal clear what is being decided. It is, at the core, yes or no to remaining in the eurozone.”
The Germans yes but the other countries, France especially, prefer to let the Greeks stay in the euro. The next week will be a mess.

Ok, WTF?  I just checked the last 24h graph for LTC, it's going crazy, it rose by ~$0.75 in the last few hours?
Is there a reason for this? o.O

Just because the treaties do not provide for an exit, does not mean that there is no way. This is politics: laws or treaties do not apply (as if they would ever apply to others than Joe Sixpack...)

The UK is happily in the EU but not in the eurozone, so it is possible, though difficult for greece.

Options as I see it are:

1) soft default: restructuring of loans - write down / partial jubilee or freezing of interest payments - burden taken by ECB and continue using EURO as main currency.
2) outright default: for the long term by far the best solution for greece, though would lead to severe short term turbulence and leave greece cut off from bond markets. Iceland has recovered and was in a similar boat.
3) kick the can further down the road with another x billion 'lent' by eurozone members (probably not tenable given IMF statements this week)

The people voting no means they want the debt restructured. The drawback is that most greeks also want to stay in the EURO Smiley
