You forgot about nasdaq stockholm being a partial reason for this micro-bubble.

And let's not forget the GBTC. One of the bidders is Citadel Securitys.

From Wikipedia:
"Citadel is the eleventh largest hedge fund manager in the world, and the second largest multi-strategy hedge fund manager in the world."

That's the ticket. Suddenly pension funds and hedge funds can tap into BTC. 2015 will be The Year of Bitcoin.

A lot of traders expected the "institutional investment" bubble back in May. Of course it fell short of expectations and the rally was doomed to fail. Now, well, who knows? Nobody is expecting it.

heh so you can be funny, too!

Or is this just probability theory at work on your prodigious output of posting? Something about infinite tenured professors typing on infinite typewriters...

Have you read Stanilsaw Lem's Cyberiad?  There is a story in there of how the two robot-heros defeated the pirate Pugg, that is the best description of the Internet I have ever seen -- and written maybe 10 years before the internet was invented.  Pay attention especially to the device that they built.   Cheesy

Weren't you just told to keep your BS in this thread to wall watching and price discussion?  You really don't fucking listen to anything, do you?

I am listening, but I don't hear anything that makes sense.

The news of Circle getting 50 M$ of investment has been posted and discussed umpteen times here, and no one complained.  And that is appropriate, because it is being interpreted as "good news for bitcoin" by many people -- and the only identifiable factor that moves price is news and rumors.  Indeed, the current micro-bubble  may be due to it.

I would love to see 240 before I turn in for the night.

Btw. Stands for six are dirt cheap nowadays, screens too.

Me too! If we make it above that next target is the 38.2% fib line, ~$250, which could be easily reached if the selling is light. Then the fomo begins, but that's getting ahead of things.

Six monitors would be amazing... but mine are NEC IPS monitors, so it would be a costly (although beautiful) upgrade Smiley

BTC-E just touched 240 with a 315 coin buy. This is heating up. FOMO is starting to build up among the chartists.

Six NEC IPS monitors would definitely be overkill. I'm holding the trigger on 6 samsung TN displays for $100 each and a stand for $200 and simply a seventh 27" EIZO IPS as a main screen. The only obstacle is that I mainly work at home, and I have to explain this monstrosity to my wife.

What the f*ck is this? I had to leave for 5-6 hours on family business. I stopped by the shop on my way home and bought cola (for a drink) & popcorn! And the GBTC has not started trading yet?

Actually, this could be good news for me. Because I really wanted to watch this live. And the price has had a nice climb the last hours too  Wink

(But if they don't trade today, I will send Silbert a fax and ask for a refund for my popcorn. Via Western Union!)

Now, just because I urged people to actually read the damn press release with their eyes open and brain engaged, that topic it is suddently off-topic.  Even though a proper understanding of what the announcement means could enable people to better guess what the price will do next.

Remember what happened with "Microsoft accepts bitcoin", "McDonalds will accept bitcoin on Valentines Day", "a three-billion-euro hedge fund will start trading on OKCoin", and many other "good news for bitcoin" in the past?
