Impressive move from (most likely) Mossad, placing explosive materials in thousands of beepers/pagers before shipping to Hezbollah terrorists and letting them detonate simultaneously resulting in deaths and many injured.

They had those devices in their pants which means a lot of them lost their testicles yesterday.

Oef!!

no more jihad raping for them

Okay, that sucked.  Sorry about the dust and the lackluster attempt to photograph the moon.  I cleaned the lens and set up the tripod; here are three levels of zoom that came out pretty decently.

I can still get a good 6 hours of sleep Smiley

clouds covered the moon can’t see the eclipse.

 Sorry to hear that philipma1957.
I had the same problem earlier but the clouds passed by quickly.  I wasn't set up to take photographs since I have to be up at 5:20am and didn't plan on staying up this late but I grabbed my old Canon Sureshot 20X and tried to steady my hand to get a decent image.  It looked much cooler in real life - under the dark stripe there's a dark shadow that looks somewhat eerie.  Also, there was a long contrail from a jet that had already passed just below the moon and another jet almost crossing in front of it.  The moon does look quite large and very bright tonight.

edit: I lost the lens cap a while back and I forgot to clean the lens.  Sorry about the dust!

in 60-70 minutes the eclipse  starts in NJ.

Moon is kind of visible right now so I will check it later on tonight.

Back to the FED and the whisper numbers.

100 points over the next 3 adjustments is the consensus.

so 50 or 25 points this time is pretty much a mortal lock.

Obviously what the markets do with 25 or 50 is ??

But it does look like a

 25/50 for sept 18
 25/50 for Nov 6/7
 25/50 for Dec 17/18

grand total of 100 maybe 125 point for the next 3 adjustments.

This will be welcome relief for many groups. Very few people don't want cuts.

I enjoy high interest on money market funds, but the resulting btc bump should VASTLY outperform a 30% interest decline if we eventually go from 5.38% (effectively) to, say, 3.75% in the next 12 mo. Small size, money losing companies, like discovery or other earlier stage biotechs might be worth a look as well.
I have no idea about which AI companies are still of low enough valuation to invest in, so I stay away from any of those, for now.

I have about 120 minutes or two hours for the eclipse.

But it is kind of cloudly so it may be a dud.

I noticed last night that the moon looked extremely bright and large. I’ll have to make a note of checking it out tonight knowing it will appear even brighter. A sign perhaps? The moon is taunting us now as we await travel aboard the Bitcoin rocket. Won’t be too many more moon cycles now…

The full moon tonight is a supermoon (it should look quite large) and it is called the Harvest Moon.  As an added bonus, there will be a partial lunar eclipse visible for many (see map below)

at the following times based on location:

*from https://earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/partial-lunar-eclipse-seotember-17-18-2024/

The lunar eclipse likely wont be very spectacular but, hey, free Supermoon Smiley
