..in the face of the upcoming CBDCancer, it almost seems that tptb seek to eliminate on and off ramps for retail, so that cRypTo Bitcoin becomes the pawn of the rich and powerful..

That's almost what I tell people, when they ask me if it's worth to invest in BTC:

Bitcoin is a trinity combining economics, energy, and digital information while adding a revolutionary new paradigm to each one of them.

Credit Suisse, founded in 1856, has faced a string of scandals in recent years, including money laundering charges and other issues.

If you print money, you go to jail for 20 years, unless you're the central bank.
If you threaten people and blackmail them, you go to jail, unless you're a bank or a politician.
If you make mistakes and go bankrupt, you lose the business, unless you're a bank.
If you launder money, you go to jail, unless you're a bank.

We could go on and on with this.

I would have been a millionaire now if I had not sold most of my portfolio last year when the BTC price was only at 10k - 12k.

Another proof how big problems can become small in time and small ones big.
The guy had to become a millionaire eventually after laundering billions of dollars. Then he lost his freedom...

So now we know why the feds didn't sanction ChipMixer... they had been close to cracking who was behind it for quite some time.

This thread should be moved to Trash/Archival after 19 Feb 2021. It wastes our time and wealth.

He was pretty furious at sgbett:

Damn this thread. I would still have a lots of BTCs by now if I had not read this thread! My bad decision last year was affected by this thread. Now BTC is too expensive and I can't get enough BTCs as I used to own. I feel so sad each day seeing price of BTC increasing day by day. I would have been a millionaire now if I had not sold most of my portfolio last year when the BTC price was only at 10k - 12k.

Glassonode published a very interesting longform using their on-chain metrics:

The Shrimp Supply Sink: Revisiting the Distribution of Bitcoin Supply

They particularly focus on coin distribution between walled cohort, shrimps, whale and so on:

this is not very interesting in my opinion, as there is a more interesting aspect on that research.
There is a paragraph about "Absorption Rates" for each cohort, miners one is particularly interesting:

You write it "Miners Absorption Rates", I read "adoption".

If it passes, the censorious, anti-encryption Online Safety Bill won’t just affect the UK—it will be a blueprint for repression around the world. The UK promoters of this bill talk about the worst content online, like pro-terrorism posts and child abuse material. But the surveillance won’t end there. Companies will be pushed to monitor wider categories of content, and to share information about users between jurisdictions. Journalists and human rights workers will become targets.
