There are a lot of skeptics that this alone will be the spark to lead to the next rally (I'm talking about their exchange).

No it almost for sure will not. But good news during a potential bull market could be an important catalyst to tip the scales, and SXSW is a pretty huge deal. Hell, my wife has met Sally Field and the CEO of McDonalds already--it's like a celebrity and who's who parade. I'll make sure she attends the Winklevoss presentation tomorrow.

I'm not saying it will ignite a super-rally, but it might get us over $300.

Winklevoss twins speaking about Bitcoin at SXSW tomorrow in Texas, surprised no one has mentioned this. I didn't even know about it until my wife told me that she's going to watch.

I assumed that most people here also read the /r/bitcoinmarkets daily trading thread. Anyways we had some discussion on this yesterday:

There are a lot of skeptics that this alone will be the spark to lead to the next rally (I'm talking about their exchange). It's an overestimated aspect if you want my opinion. Besides there were a lot of other bullish news that the market didn't even care for. The ETF on the other hand...  Roll Eyes

the exchange itself shouldn't move the market at first but I expect that the potential announcement of it being "sponsored" by X major US bank will give us a lift.

if the platform allows for leveraging that would be monumental and all but confirm that the ETF is coming.

Bitcoin replaces central, not commercial, banks

Well, it hasn´t seemed to be on the verge of the next collapse for several weeks now which hopefully is a good sign. Good luck, g

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"
Bitcoin is going to break 400 tonight and nobody cares  Angry

hahahahahaha

If that were true, a  lot of people would care.

Breaking $300 would be a good start, and then breaking $350 would be another continuance of a trend....

Seems almost impossible to have such a rally past $400 without any precipitating reason.

They would if it happened. I can't see a compelling reason why. It's welcome to if it wants to in my book.

So... 18 months of $0 expenses and they hit even, after their hot wallet got legs. Sorry if I'm not overly confident on their future competitiveness in this sphere.

RIP Stamp, it was a good run.

Yup, totally left in the dust, just had to refresh to make sure the feed hadn't crashed.

they still have 10-15k daily volume, with their fees that's probably around 1000 BTC of profit monthly. Hardly RIP.

Full on RIP might be premature, but they haven't had a single trade in the last 6 mins. Hardly encouraging.

People are only saying RIP because it used to be a volume leader. 1000BTC profit as estimated above though means thats far from the case.

I wonder how many employees bitstamp has, and how they pay them. Other than employees and hosting, I doubt their expenses are higher than any small business...
