I do worry about the CGT (Capital Gains Tax) increase we will probably get here in the UK under the Labour government.
It could be 40% or 45% depending on how much you earn and/or sell IF indeed CGT would be aligned with income tax bands.
To me that is heartbreaking compared to the current 20% which I already think is a lot, but much more fair for a government to take.
So sure selling something like 10-15% of my stash before that potentially happens is now often crossing my mind.

I don’t think it’ll happen, they would lose too many rich people moving to tax friendlier countries. It’d be net negative for them to make changes to something that such a small % of people pay.

...you said something about selling some of your cornz, so hopefully you don't turn into another Paashaas..

......
I never knew Paashaas sold some of his stash.
I'm sure he won't want to be reminded of it and I'm sorry to hear it, especially as a fellow long eared mammal.

Being bearish doesn't mean i've sold part of my stash..

The winds are starting to blow into this direction I fear with, especially with the ridiculous AI bubble:

The stock market will drop 32% in 2025 as the Fed fails to save the economy from a recession, research firm says
https://uk.yahoo.com/finance/news/stock-market-drop-32-2025-201502514.html

Hold onto your butts. Shocked

So fucking what?

We have to get through the rest of 2024 before getting to 2025, so if we go up way more than we go down, then you are still better off buying BTC and/or holding rather than latching onto prospects of negative news into the future that currently sounds good and plausible, yet still may or may not end up happening.

Why are you the one in these here parts so recently seemingly excited about all of the FUD bullshit..?  Yeah, I remember some posts from you earlier (fairly recently) in which you said something about selling some of your cornz, so hopefully you don't turn into another Paashaas.. in which you ended up selling too many cornz too soon.. but hey whatever, frequently, in these kinds of seemingly ambiguous times we lose a few of the regulars who turn into disgruntled beartwats because they sold too many too soon and then were not able to buy back or to let go of their dumbass ideas that had been influenced by beartwats.....

insert>>> [pour one out for the homies] meme.

I'm not excited about FUD at all, and hopefully that is all it is but the AI stock market bubble especially I don't think should go unnoticed.
I just don't believe in AI doing everything for us when it struggles to even answer a question objectively.
Driverless cars are already here, will it take over the roads? Not for a long time I think when road markings are very problematic / non existent at times here in the UK for example.

PANAMA CITY, June 28 (Reuters) - A Panamanian court has acquitted 28 people charged with money-laundering under cases linked to the Panama Papers and "Operation Car Wash" scandals, the country's judicial branch said in a statement on Friday.
It did not provide names of the people who were acquitted.

At least 3 people dead connected to this but bitcoin is the criminal coin.

Well, I assume that Panama would destroy its entire main source of income if they convicted people for money laundering. I am aware they signed double taxation treaties and agreed to exchange financial information with the United States, but this still means nothing. It only means that the US government knows who might be evading taxes, and knowledge gives power. Consequences are only drawn when the tax evading billionaires revolt. The Panama court letting go all these people is the best advertisement they could have put out to the global elites.

I guess the general public would rather not be informed about the US government what's going on there. Maybe the Biden administration would go after some of their tax evaders though. But I wonder why someone would use a Panama setup when there are legal ways for people to pay close to zero tax in the US. At least that is what I think is happening with many of the billionaires. But there is of course the problem that they can amass wealth while not getting taxed for it.
