a very very slow movement, but what creates movement in bitcoin
i still dont get it. Nothing creates movement in bitcoin. The bitcoin simply is, and we are the ones that move.
I figure all the excitement will most likely happen in a week a half. The reason? I will be in India for two weeks on a mission trip with very little access to computers and no time to really go online at all. It will be an epic rally for sure!
You might be happy to know I am not going to "convert" anyone. Mostly doing humanitarian work, putting in water wells in villages, hosting a medical camp with food and clothing for a village of people suffering from leprosy, visiting an orphanage and bringing clothing, food to a home for the elderly there. We are also hosting the first ever conference for Dalit women. These women will all be Christian already, so no "conversions." But my goal is to encourage them and tell them that they have value in the midst of a culture that does not always value women and especially the lowest women in the caste system.
Funny that Christians get condemned for being the ones paying their own way to go on trips like these. The world desperately needs compassion but compassion begins with the love God puts in our hearts for others I believe.
The population of India is around 2% Christian. Is the prerequisite of you helping someone in India that they are Christian? Seems weird that statistically the chance of you helping people who are all Christians in India is infinitesimally small. Religious discrimination?

I am going to be partnering with a Christian organization that is already established there. They have started colleges to provide education and work opportunities for women that were sold into sex slavery. Also, there are the wives of the village church pastors that will be attending this conference along with the women in the college. It is very exiting for these women from the villages because many of them have never been to anything like this. A retreat where all expenses are paid for them is a luxury beyond anything they have ever experienced. Why does it bother you so much that I am going to do this anyways?

Will I go to heaven for doing this? Ummmm NO! The entire point of Christianity is that nothing we do can earn our way to heaven. It is just out of God's love for us we feel compelled to do things for others, no strings attached. It is hard for many to grasp this concept I guess.
About those Bitcoins though. I was kinda hoping the price would have gone up by now.
When I was in the early stages of planning this trip I figured that BTC would be well over $1000 per coin and had big ideas of funding much of the trip with BTC. Things don't always work out like we planned. Thankfully all the funds are raised anyways!! (each person going was responsible for our own airfare and lodging of course) We had to come up with over $15000 for just the conference. We also raised over $15000 for the water wells and food/clothing for the other outreaches too. It is going to be an amazing trip. I will give an update of how it goes when we get back. And no one is being forced to "convert." A forced conversion isn't a true conversion anyways. Edit: I thought perhaps a few people on here would be interested in hearing some good things that are going on, and Bitcoin is funding part of my expenses of the trip (not as much as I had hoped but that is the way it is.) Also, I am planning on mentioning the Indian website www.unocoin.com to the founder of the group we are working with. I already mentioned BTC to him when he was in the states a few months ago and he was very interested. The thought of less fees for currency conversion was extremely appealing. Also, I am looking to send some Bitcoin to them on the next Bubble, God willing.

Around 350 would be right. But I think, for the chinese it is around less than 300.
considering the electricity cost for 1 bitcoin is 131 USD,
if the miner already ROI, they can dump to 200 and still profit
costs vary greatily from place to place and from people to people. Also there is a huge difference of you are small or big guy, and if you already in or out the mining business.
No idea where people get their "it cost X to mine one Bitcoin" statements
