Wasn't XRP just a spam prevention coin?
That's what I thought. It is a "transaction facilitator" currency, not a store of worth.
Disclaimer: I got given 5 figures of XRP.
it helps to prevent spam, improve liquidity, create account, pay transaction, be out of freeze. All of those things have a value. The big question is to know how those things can be evaluated ( how much should cost a transaction ? 1/1000cent ? then 1xrp=1$ , less than that ? 1/100000cent ? tehn xrp=0.01$ ...)

Ripple is still a thing? 
Yes and more and more bitcoine exchange work at becoming a gateway. The last one was LakeBTC. A bank is actually implementing ripple (Fidor) and reading cofoudner half official announcment we will probably see many more banks the year coming.
I see people are incredulous when they read Ripple Labs might easily have over a hundred banks on board within the next year. but this is real and this is coming.

bitcoin value is totally overvaluated, this reality will be even more visible when some real utility will be bring by things like ripple. Noone is interested in yet another currency controlled by central banks. They've got plenty of fiat currencies already. I see nothing interesting in Ripple.

ripple must of seen a bit of a bump?
Yeah Jed can't barely sell anything before 2years. (10k$ a week first year and 20k$ which is ridiculous even with ripple low volumes)
Small bump indeed, but now we are all waiting for the banks to start using it (and Fidor at first of course) and hopefully we'll see the liquidity increase.

I think back to the July 2013 post-peak low of $63. At the time it was last chance saloon for people to get in at that level. The question now is whether the recent dip into the $400s is a similar situation...
You can't compare those 2 situations. Bitcoin will keep going down and in few month ripple will replace it definitely. LAST CHANCE TO SELL
