Sine secretum non libertas
Of the last three lows above 600, consider an angle formed by rays from the first to the second and to the third. The former is parallel to a median trendline through the stable summer ascent in 2013 on a linear chart. The second is parallel to a similar trendline over the same period on a logarithmic chart.

Recall that the absolute rate of increase in the number of active wallets on a daily basis  is substantially greater than the rate during that low volatility ascent between capitulation and the foothills of the bubble, but the relative rate of increase is somewhat less.  Also recall that the price regresses to the 2.26 power of the number of active wallets.

We are again in a low volatility gradual ascent after a capitulation.

My hypothesis, therefore, is that the actual forward support baseline will lie in that angle, until the next regime change.  To estimate the actual baseline predicted by this approach, I would need the blockchain.info charts back online, or else scrounge the data myself.  Actually I should probably do that as an exercise in any case.  When I get to it, unless events have invalidated my hypothesis, I will post it here.

Doge Coin is a gimmick, the only lesson here is that there is still an opportunity for a new coin to gain a huge userbase fast.

I think the huge number of alts now has helped secure bitcoins position..  I just don't think we'll see mass migration to another coin with so many to choose from.

Indeed perhaps altcoins are helping bitcoin Smiley

everybody can see what mean a real crypto coin Smiley Bitcoin is the best.

if bitcoin would be the only one - it would be to dangerous for its position Smiley

Doge Coin is a gimmick, the only lesson here is that there is still an opportunity for a new coin to gain a huge userbase fast.

Therefore; I still believe that the biggest threat for bitcoin is a new coin being launched by a collective of big companies who already have a huge userbase, infrastucture, marketing tools, capital, and most importantly, trust!
Such a new coin can potentially surpass bitcoin in market share quickly.
Remember, the average user doesn't care about decentralization or privacy, etc., they will use the most common and popular one.
The only way to avoid this potential threat for bitcoin is to gain mass adoption before such a coin is launched.

However; it is to be seen if such a 'collective big companies' coin will ever be launched, since it is probably more convenient for big companies to just implement bitcoin without to much effort.
In case of failure, it is only bitcoin that has failed and they can drop bitcoin again.
While as they implement their own coin, this will cost considearable more effort and dedication and will impact their reputation negatively in case of failure.

Financially doge is just as much of an gimmick as bitcoin. I'm talking about how much financial efficiency is gained from a legal company to adopt it's usage.
Doge exposed the face of bitcoin by showing just how important is the hype factor in the success of an crypto. It showed that cryptos don't have much to do with quality of the currency, but it's all about hype. That's why all the hate from the bitcoin cultists towards doge.
I think that this will change in the future, but right now, it's not hard to see why so many people see bitcoin more as an cult icon, not an serious financial tool.

"all about hype"?

what? are u fucking delivering cannolis or something as a day job?

Yes, I deliver cannolis (while fucking), and this helped me understand, how companies are gaining big in financial efficiency by adopting bitcoin, and how it isn't all about marketing, free press coverage and getting new loyal customers who are loyal to bitcoin. If I were an financial expert, like a lot of the people here (definitely you), then I would also understand how Bitcoin will soon be the world currency, because it has a very solid history, great price stability, and an extremely smooth rate for new coin supply.

Dogecoin will survive.

On another note. I am starting to get sick of these price ranges of BTC.

Lets get some action.

once that meme popularity is over the dogecoin will die hard, kids jumped on only because of the meme is familiar to them, the price went up then other people saw an opportunity to make some some profit, everyone will get sick of that meme, there is no technical improvement or a new feature or anything that can keep that coin going. no development whatsoever.

marketing with that meme thing was a great idea but we all know that wont last so long Smiley

I believe in DGC.  I jumped on because of the huge community.  I believe it is second only to Bitcoin right now?  Not really worried about the current crash.  It has been this low before and I just hit myself for not buying in time.  It will be alright long term.

Sorry to burst your bubble but doge is not second only to bitcoin, the community will not be around once the meme dies and it won't be alright long term. Can you point me in the direction of what doge has going for it to counter the ridiculous inflation, the fact that it brings nothing new at all and its core user bases average age is probably about 16-18?

Oh and I presume you know that DGC is digital coin not doge. Have you even been buying the right coin  Wink

Maybe it will work out, maybe it won't.  I definitely consider it a huge risk.  My main three are Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Doge, and I consider them risky in that order.  I won't cry if Doge fails.

as Litecoin has in every aspect the better decentralised features than bitcoin and is still 10 times undervalued....bitcoin is worth 60 bucks not a cent more for real use !

So, will you be voluntarily donating, or not?

I don't see any reason to change my current strategy. Though I would naturally have more funds to contribute if I got to keep them instead of them being used to fund useless shit.

While you posted this... 3 Billion Dogecoins just generated deflating your dogecoin even more.

That said..... I wasted a month mining dogecoin at this point. I'll hang onto it in the off chance it bounces back though.

I believe here:  Octaft had presented a hypothetical -asking how much charity BillyjoeAllen would be willing to lock into to pay to cover public interest/benefits etc.  BillyjoeAllen responded that he does NOT want to pay anything into such a system b/c it is his money.

I was merely responding and suggesting that such a world of people NOT contributing (assuming that Billyjoeallen is imagining a world in which everyone is on their own) would result in deterioration of social cooperation and forms of barbarianism.

You don't even understand the mistakes you're making, do you?
