You would hope that by the time 1 BTC = $10,000 USD the fluctuations or volatility in these 'early years' will have subsided. Otherwise, we could be seeing swings between $10,000 and $100,000 each month! The stress levels of BTC day-traders seem high enough as it is... what would happen then??

It would make it fail. Bitcoin can only work if it is stablilised.

looking this picture, still having questions???

Yes.  Question 1: Why stop at 2017?

Question 2: What will I be able to buy with 10,000,000,000,000,000 dollars in 2024?

1,000 loaves of bread? Think that this can't happen to any existing fiat given enough time?

1) Everyone knows that the end of the world will come in 2017
2) See above
2a) The end of the dollar will come before the end of the world.

It looks like the next jump in difficulty will be HUUUUGE!
Some 800 mil!!!  Shocked

fuck

Hashslow has failed to deliver , who might be the culprit?  Cointerra?
I don't see the difficulty jump affecting the price anyway. At least not now.

Imagine that whale loses it's balance, that's gonna be one hell of a bubble pop.
We'll need some extra motivation to HODL if it happens.

My favourite altcoin is Mike (μBTC).  They're crazy cheap at the moment - you can pick up a thousand of them for less than a dollar.  Definitely gonna go moon IMHO.

Of course , 1gr of sugar at 1 cent is cheaper that 1 kilo at 10$.
I doubt that the bitcoin price is floating around 1000 because of the psychological effect.

I blame it on the fact that people fear we have jumped 10x in price based on... nothing. > China stuff.
And now overstock and co news are just barely hodling the price.

I prefer the Embics (mBTC). They don't weigh my pants down so much.

You want to see BTC go to the moon again? Shift the decimal places and make 1 BTC = 0.800 USD instead of using mBTC.
Go ahead.  Feel free... ;

(I'm saying it's open source so you have as much right to do it as the next.  You'll just need to persuade enough to agree with you.  Good luck!)

I thought we were discussing about Bitcoin and not how to make an alt coin.

there is no need for an altcoin to do this. everybody can place the decimalpoint at own wishes. even if you decide that for you 1btc equals 250satoshi, thats ok. it doesnt change anything for anyone except you. all you need to do for that is a bit mental math and maybe a bit coding, if you want your favorit walletsoftware/website to show it that way.
