If this recent stability is due *to offline coins coming in, how long can that sustain the stability?

Edit = *

I don't think the stability has anything to do with new coins. Just a changing of the guard probably. Night shift is leaving and the morning shift is coming in.

Not just last night but the last 3 days. The majority felt there was a large dip coming and then additional news from China came in and the dip wasn't that big. ...Maybe I'm looking at this wrong.

Maybe we'll see an uptick as New York wakes up.

Can anyone explain what the large spike on this chart means?

https://blockchain.info/charts/bitcoin-days-destroyed

That someone's able to manipulating the days destroyed chart? Lots of old coins moved but no significant increase in transaction volumes suggests age caused the spike, not volume.

+1

some old coins have been moving around

Sell at 650, and buy back at 450 => 44% more coins.
Sell at 650, and stop-loss buy at 1170 => 44% less coins.

So if you estimate that the pullback has any greater than 50% probability to happen, you should sell a part of your holdings. Simple as that.

Don't oversimplify things, please. You have a point, but you can't conclude your argument with: "simple as that". You make at least one (implicit) assumption: a linear risk/reward preference.

Let me fix this

Sell Buy at 650, and buy sell back at 450 1170 => 44% more coins fiat.
Sell Buy at 650, and stop-loss buy sell at 1170 450 => 44% less coins fiat.

as simple as that

I'm really surprised this didn't cause more of a stir

http://www.coindesk.com/chinese-bitcoin-exchange-okcoin-accused-faking-trading-data/

If the rally was led by btcchina last night, can we trust it? Some bots are still using btcchina as market leader. I don't know what I'm watching anymore. Is there massive manipulation going on or is the market as confused as it looks?

I'm 'cowish' too - udderly confused Smiley
