I'm saying to everybody that now is the time to buy bitcoins, this train is going to at least 2000+ USD and maybe even 3000+ USD before next crash. And it's unlikely that we will see <500 coins ever again, maybe we even don't go below 1000 after next crash.

after my dental appointment.. I shall probably sink the last fiat on my exchange into btc. Then as you say..( 6666.66 cny in the background caught my eye lol )...at the least I can sell on the way down in a crash if I was so inclined to day trade on us overbuying into the 2-5k range over the next hmm I'd say 2 months.

so.. sell at 50.. buy at 2.. and become a ltc whale in 2 years? that's what you just alluded to I think.
Or...just take advantage of crypto currencies beautiful ability to move between currencies and ride the LTC train to $100+ on the back of BTC's success.  Crazy thought I know.  Utilizing the technology...who would have thunk.   Huh

Before all this chatter I bought some ltc/nmc/ftc just to see what they do with what I expect and agree with you is them being on BTC's success. All in all we shall see what unfolds Cheesy lol

Since I trade on btce I found it wise to inform myself a little bit about altcoins since the value of btc there apparently is greatly affected by them. The one that caught my attention and interest is definitely peercoin above the others. I've always thought that bitcoins main flaw is that they can be accumulated by few parties which will function as a central authority in the end, with peercoin this problem is addressed pretty elegantly. I think bitcoin has many years of success still but I think a coin like peercoin is much more futureproof and has a better chance at becoming stable and useful for a decentralized market. Anyways, I just bought my first 20 peercoins, although I won't get rid of my bitcoins of course.

Anybody caught this BBC article yet?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-25130261

Yep, just read it. Surprised? No. I've read many like it. Old school establish ecconomists dismissing bitcoin as just another tulip story.. or just another blah blah..
Yeah.. spare me please.

The comments section is even worse. Everytime i read comments on a bitcoin story on the web.. you see the same ill-informed opinion, and the same questions raised again and again.
Though it is hardly surprising that these are questions raised by people who have not done any research into it.

What is it backed by?? Cryptography and maths.

How do we know there will only be 21 Million ever?? Cryptography and maths.

Yes agreed.  The concern is the general public (read potential future bitcoiners) are put off by the negative aspect of articles like this.  Unfortunately not everybody understands cryptography or maths.... but however this is a short term problem that will be overcome as bitcoin becomes more user friendly, just like the early internet.

I read the first couple of comments then dismissed them after reading somebody trying to say that 'they' (whoever 'they' are) can increase the 21M limit at will.

What a piece of crap that economist is saying!!!!  Grin

Read this:

Quote
The big advantage of Bitcoin as "stateless money" is that when it collapses, the government won't have to bail it out.

Who is the government in a democratic country? Its people! And they have to bail out f... banks (trust me on this one, I am Greek)!!!!
So, I trust banks with my money, they fuck it (as they are doomed to do because of their very existence) and then I have to bail them in or out or whatever.

To make it short, I bail out myself because I am a fool in that I trust what is doomed to fail (that is banks)!!!! Well, silly me then!!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

NO MORE

Yeah.. he'S the old school type, will never get it.. then he will, but won't admit it. Then he will admit it when it is far too late for him.

Anyway.. he almost makes me ashamed to be Irish.

LTC at nearly $50..

- no infrastructure (imagine if btc-e up and vanished)
- accepted literally nowhere
- no considerable advantage over btc (otherwise btc would just incorporate it, considering how many people have a vested interest in btc)

This will not end well!  Way outside normal btc/ltc ratio.    Cheesy

Ok, back to btc...

Didn't we hear the same stuff about BTC some time ago?

Yes, and then the price crashed from $30 down to $2 while we waited for infrastructure and merchants.

so.. sell at 50.. buy at 2.. and become a ltc whale in 2 years? that's what you just alluded to I think.

That comes in handy in a war!
