what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?
and the ring door camera records audio.. wonder how sensitive it is.. like can it record conversations inside the house near the wall its mounted on? and, if so, how near is near..

Can the Ring hear conversations inside the house?
Melissa Clarke, a county court judge in Oxford, pointed out that Woodward's Ring camera could reliably record audio at conversational volume from 68 feet away, based on an experiment carried out by one of the witnesses in the case.

68 feet from the externally camera it can record sound that far into the house? outside i can see, but inside? lol my house isnt that big in any direction. btw i saw the figure of 30 feet (outside the house) in the article, where did you see 68 feet. apologies if its right there somewhere still working on coffee atm.

i have cams setup all over my place but without going into details on types, capabilities and setup, none of them are ring cams.

Hopefully, each of us finds ways to balance our allocations in bitcoin, versus fiat, versus other investments that we might have.

Overallocations and even thinking that something is going to happen because it has happened previously does not result in good risk management.

Don't get me wrong, I am not opposed to aggressive allocations in bitcoin, and there are likely not a whole hell of a lot of people who really can practically keep all of their value in bitcoin..

Once again agree with you. We need to be realistic while we invest, its very risky to place all your eggs in one basket. Things are changing rapidly and nothing is certain specially in part of world where I live. So it's better to have something in bitcoin though USD is getting stronger as an investment currency.

Inflation is going to kill every currency except for the dollar and BTC at this rate.

Bitcoin is inflation hedge.

Celsius...

Suggestion for the next poll:

Have you ever transferred (some of) your BTC to Celsius?

1. Yes, my entire stash.
2. Yes, a percentage of my stash.
3. NO! Not your keys, not your coins!

Anonymous poll.

I wonder what the result would be...

Well there was at least one douchebag peddling that shitty company here in WO over the last 18 months.

Either that person got rekt or was an inside shill.

So option 1. in your poll should have at least one upvote or that person has either left WO for good / can't access it because they are behind bars or is a completely dishonest fuckface.

I also remember some WO regular(s) shilling Celsius. I don't remember who exactly but I remember the fact.  Cool

In each case, Ring handed over private recordings, including video and audio, without letting users know that police had access to—and potentially downloaded—their data. This raises many concerns about increased police reliance on private surveillance, a practice that's long gone unregulated.

I have multiple ring camera’s

Two for indoor and one on the front door.

they are okay for in the room.

the front door does not pick up sound in the house as the mic points to street.

the living room can record some sound in the bedroom as it points at the wall of the bedroom.

even if you shut the bedroom door you can still hear a bit of sound.

so the key is where the mic/lens points.

If 30yrs ago you'd say that people would willingly pay to install MICs that let let cops and big corporations listen in on your bedroom, they'd think you're crazy, yet here we are.
People are too eager to sell their privacy for any kind of convenience, think the going rate is a forum emoji

I agree without the paranoia.

I don't know why people automate their home. They install tons of hardware care that needs constant attention whilst you are throwing their privacy around. This all to be able to not have to walk to the light switch.

Any company with a security leak will allow burglars insight into your house.

Circumstances matter.

 My Bro-in-Law has vascular dementia.
I need the cameras to monitor him his home and the health caretakers.

He almost blew the house up in Nov of 2021. Thank god I had one of the rings pointed at the gas stove.

#LNMETA

Was shooting the shit on Twitter today with a couple folks running LN nodes, and was groaning about my befuddlement with 0/0 fee game-theory.

tl;dr: They explained it well enough that you make it up on fees for the other nodes you are connected to.

I believe I have every WO member connected to me at 0/0, set a bunch of other nodes to 0/0, have disabled LNDg Auto-fees for the time being, and will see how this works out for a bit.
