The Ukrainian army has retaken Tjernobyl, seven busses full of Russian soldiers from Tjernobyl have gone to hospitals in Belarus for radition checkup and treatment, apparently they dug foxholes in the red forest, one of the most contaminated places on earth.

How is this possible?!  It's as if they had no idea about the tragedy of Chernobyl which was under their purview at the time the incident occurred.  It's unbelievable.

That's what happens when you have 20 years of brainwashing that anything "the West" says is a lie, including radiation I guess.

Also the Russian soldiers (using this word very generously here; more like marauding gangs) aren't really the thinking/questioning type nor do they have a lot of choice in all fairness. They are told to dig, they dig. The general who told them to dig is far enough to not have to worry about the radiation. Just another variation of cannon fodder.

Another example of the glorious achievements of Putin's armed forces:

Russian soldiers returning or redeploying from Ukraine frequently try to sell looted goods to Belarusians in southern border districts, according to interviews with multiple residents.
[...]
"They take the ‘trophies’ looted from Ukraine and offer to sell them to locals. Refrigerators, household appliances, tires, and whatever comes to hand"

There are other reports of Russian soldiers shipping the loot from Belarus to their relatives in Russia.

Some Russian colleagues ("I'm not interested in politics" types) I showed this to had a bit of a cringe. Dead people on the streets didn't affect them but this did. Go figure.

Russia doesn't have an army. They have pillaging, raping, stealing group of mercenaries and kleptocrats only interested in filling their own pockets. And some conscripts that are scratching their heads like they are in a bad dream still thinking it's an exercise.

This is also why their equipment sucks, because everything not bolted on that can sell has been sold.

Ukraine is heavily motivated to keep their freedom and country so Russia can't win even if they flatten the whole country.

Thanks to a hint here a few days ago (sorry, can't find it anymore with reasonable effort to credit the person posting it), I watched Ukraine on Fire from Oliver Stone. As I found it quite interesting and insightful, I decided to give The Putin Interviews (also from Oliver Stone) a shot too.

Both well worth watching IMO.

That said, I think Putin is not the dumb infantile emperor the western media paints him as. The NYT article that d_eddie posted a few days ago is a speculation that would fit the picture I got from the above Stone documentaries much better.

Dead bodies in a mass grave.
https://twitter.com/visegrad24/status/1510419788132237317/photo/1

Ukrainian girls are being admitted to hospitals for rape treatment, in one case the oldest was 10 years, they are being treated for recto-vaginal tears. https://twitter.com/olya_rudenko/status/1510304622816251909?s=20&t=be-M-jWRtJfjd4oAJNaGdg

“2 girls, 12 and 13 from different families. Same story. Russians shot their parents in front of them. The kids were then raped… now recovering in the hospital…”   https://twitter.com/ofer_n/status/1510421558577217539?s=20&t=be-M-jWRtJfjd4oAJNaGdg

I won't be posting any more pictures of dead people today, you get the picture. Remember these pictures are from just one small town. As more pictures from liberated and soon to be liberated towns and cities emerge it will be totaly clear that the Russians must be stopped at any cost.

This is a game changer.

Edited, wrong country.

Fucking disgusting!.. absolutely horrifying!

Just go to show, War/Fighting doesn't solve anything, just brings out the worse and i mean absolutely worst in humanity. Undisciplined Solders on a power trip is a recipe for disaster!!

We seen this in Vietnam War, Japan and China, ISIS etc etc etc etc etc!... why would it change now!.. Fucking animals!...

Doesn't surprise me anymore!.. I've seen how dumb people are, some can not even identify their own country when turned upside down.

They probably weren't even taught about Chernobyl, or where it is located!

How far out of the loop does Morgan Stanley have to be to publish such an out-of-date article?
Might start?!  The Bahamas released the Sand Dollar in 2020; Nigeria released their eNaira last October, Sweden has been experimenting an E-Krona for a couple of years now while China has already implemented and is currently in the pilot testing phase of their digital Yuan - recently rolling it out in 12 more cities.  Central banks of Japan, Canada, Switzerland, the EU and England are jointly studying whether to release a digital currency.  India, Russia, Brazil have committed to CBDCs... even that doofus, Senator Elizabeth Warren, in the USA is advocating for a CBDC now.  In short, "crypto" already is a currency and its use is becoming more widespread.

What might have been a better article is how all these separately designed CBDCs running on their own proprietary blockchains could start to become problematic wrt interoperability.  I think the only answer is Bitcoin Smiley
