Hi guys. I see it's talking mining, I had stopped some years ago, but for Christmas I managed to buy a 3080FE, and a 3080Ti FE. I wanted a card to play videogames mainly, and didn't want to pay the crazy black market prices, I finally got them for MSRP. Still it's quite a sum of money, I also need to buy the rest of the PC (parts are ordered), so I think I will start mining again. I will probably convert into BTC on a regular basis, and treat that as DCA buys, where my cash goes to electricity and "paying back" the hardware. I'm closing myself to exchanges fiat onramps to be a bit more stealthy so doing it that way is "2 birds, 1 stone". For occasional "buy the dip" events I shall use a DEX.

I'll be thrown a little into the deep end here but I'll find out more about what the role entails tomorrow when I sit down with my friend. It will be an interesting thing to tackle regardless and a lot easier on my body than my current job; nothing may come from it but I'd be stupid to not at least listen and go for it if I'm given the opportunity

Just thought I'd share here because it's relevant and personally a little exciting...

Not sure if anyone remembers but a few months ago I made a post about a business my friend works for that generates their own electricity (via gas and wind) and sells it to the grid. The problem comes at times when they sell to a grid at a loss when they have excess energy so I suggested they set up a mining operation. Long story short they got up a test bed with a 0.8MW operation and it seems to be going well; there's now plans to expand this to other sites nation wide to I THINK a 8MW total. Sitting down with my friend tomorrow for me to be brought in an have a possible role in all of this so I'm pretty excited. TOTAL change from my current line of work but definitely something I'd be passionate about.

So yeah, that's that Smiley

Good we are finally adding a 300kwatt solar array  in NJ to the 115  and 45 ones we have.  We had hoped it would be 350kwatts , but roof structure only allows 300 Kwatts.

8MW will be good sized for you.

The extent to which the current "Bitcoin uses more electricity than Crustopia" sort of narrative has things so COMPLETELY out of phase with reality it will be a strange jolt for honest people when they realize how it enables energy creation even more than it uses energy.

It is a ripe market for businesses to make money guiding this revolution.  Wish I was not so lazy. Wink

Close, but no cigar.
Mhhh I tough the riddle had been already solved on the Thread, but I like everyone having a little bit of fun!

Well, in the end, it's just a bit of observational humor and not really to be taken all that seriously. My posting of the video was not a critique of fillipone's post but just sharing the opportunity for a chuckle.

Now, if I were to post a David Mitchell video, he's usually a bit more directly critical.
And that video indeed made me chuckle a lot.
I think I am quite fluent in English, and able to get some joke and puns, but I didn’t really knew that phrase was so widespread, rightly for the latent sexual reference.

By the way, sometimes depending on your audience, let's say talking with your grandma or an older relative, sometimes you might NOT want to use such an expression, just like you might NOT want to slip in that "they call me Italian Stallion for a reason" even though it seems to play pretty well with the WO audience.. #justsaying....

Can you imagine fillippone in a conversation with grandma of fillippone, and then grandma of fillippone says, "oh and the door was shut right?" or "you had clothes on right?" or "what were those imprints on the beach?" and fillippone responds:  "they call me Italian Stallion for a reason."  I am thinking that the expression might not play to well with grannie.

Ah!
No! This is not definitely going to happen!
Nor I never referred to anyone even vaguely related with family as a “milf!”… no, this could spell disaster!

And Yes, I think WO is a good place for this kind of jokes.

I got a little bit of a chuckle out of your posting about the topic fillippone, because in some sense, I am not even sure if Dave Gorman, the comedian in that clip, is that concerned about the truth of the matter asserted, but instead harping on both how frequently the expression is used, and than also a bit of questioning about how well people appreciate what they are saying when they use the sentence.. and sure sometimes there could be some truth of the matter asserted within the expression... but also having had listened through the whole clip, we may well start to pay more attention when someone actually uses the expression.. because surely there might be some attempts at humor when using the expression, but it might not exactly be funny for the reasons that was originally intended.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"
I want 69,420 in poll options.

(I won’t select but still I want to see)

The question might need to be different.

I could hardly imagine a top that is so close to $69k.. in part because once we get to surpa $62k (if we get there?) we are likely to pass right through that and up to $92k... I know, my theorizing of noman's land did not work out to well the last time around, but I doubt that we can really give up upon the dynamics that tend to exist when we approach previous ATHs.. especially if we spend a decent amount of time correction before revisiting.. and this time around we are going to have at least 2 months from visiting $69k and revisiting it again.. and maybe more likely we could be in the 3-4 month arena.. again, that is if we get back above $62k... which many of us likely still conjecture to be the case, even if some of the bitcoin naysayers, no coiners, uninformed and shitcoiners may well have already written off revisits of our current ATH of $69k.

That’s exactly how it is. I hate the term “early adopters” every other news article or YouTuber starts his comments about bitcoin like “If you are a lucky early adopter of bitcoin”:

It’s been 11 years now and if you are coming into bitcoin today of course you will be an early adopter too. Just HOLD and wait for your turn to be called “early adopter”.

Of course, I appreciate your point regarding some of the baggage that may well come from the label "early adopter," but from my perspective, such label has way more positives than it does negatives, so in that regard, I have a hard time to do anything but embrace it.. furthermore, we are not really going to get people from saying things that are inaccurate or just coming to faulty and ill-informed conclusions.

Something like this could be decently good blanket response:  "You too can become an early adopter, but it takes action rather than sitting on the sidelines."

IF I were a trader... I would take out a little long right about here... lets see how dumb that will be? Wink

If I were a trader...I would take out a big short position right about here and keep it alive no matter what. By the end of the year all will see that that will have been a smart strategy.

Bullish! Moon soon. Confirmed. Math and science.  Cool

P.S. So relieved to see proud honey is back! Now I'm sure we'll see another ATH in 2022.  Grin
