Precision Beats Power and Timing Beats Speed.

1st off. The guy on the left has had more fulfilling times with his friends than the right.

2nd. The guy on the right is not an actual Miner. Its a computer geek with 0 hours in manual labour, often hating on the Labour force

3rd. Times spent on the claim with your buds working hard physicaly is something you cant put a price on Smiley

4th. Mining is not just about Profit Smiley

Miner on the Left? YES.
Miner on the Right? NO. They are called Calculators but they prefer to be called Miners even if it has nothing to do with mining.
People wouldnt Calculate equations as much as they do now if they were called Calculators . Its a Romance feeling connected being called a Miner.

Peter Thiel thinks he may have met Satoshi Nakamoto and says he knows where he'd look for the mysterious bitcoin creator

"My sort of theory on Satoshi's identity was that Satoshi was on that beach in Anguilla," Thiel said

The billionaire was speaking at a Miami conference Wednesday, according to Bloomberg.

Why he even cares?
I cannot think of any possible pure motif.

'The right to privacy matters'
Top 2% of btc  holders own more than 30% of the btc.

https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-bitcoin-addresses.html

To clarify top 2% of addresses have 94% of the wealth.

to be fair some addresses are exchanges.

Now that's something few will understand and those who understand this knows how to secure their future with full decentralised command in bitcoin and having deflationary future ahead.

I fix broken miners. And make holes in teeth :-)
I'd be truly surprised if anything became of it. China is too vested in the U.S. to sink their interests, and the rest of the worlds'. That type of war isn't really being fought anymore, we've moved on to other ways, with combat performed by contractors in 3rd world proxys.

I'm glad to see there are folks who have faith in the restraint of China's global ambitions... personally, I'm afraid Ji will launch an attack the moment his citizenry starts to get restless and unruly due to the collapsing economy. And as for Ole Joe following through with his tough talk, yea... don't hold your breath.

Eh we just got out of a stupid boring war. One with China would at least allow the use of the fun high tech stuff.

But what's the point?

Note that they never do it with a high-dollar condenser, usually your basic dynamic mic. But still....

I would probably murder the bastard that dropped my rhodium plated U87.

Absolutely serious.

Nobody would really handhold such an exclusive Neumann. If so, he almost deserves death without even dropping it.  Wink
While Electro-voice's look like they were built for dropping on a regular basis Cool
(I once owned an EV-PL10 that died, used it on stage a lot for micing my snare drum, this one could take some good hits and also some spilled beer).

The neodymium EVs have a spring metal head basket... I thing I don't know why ALL mic makers do not so.  I could bounce it off a concrete floor, and the only damage it would take is it might lose some of the black color where it hit...  Sharpie will fix it! This is most certainly not a rhodium plated 87...  but it's a great talkback mic. Wink  (actually it's very interesting for lots of things. magic on a bass amp...)

The texture of the springs would affect the sound quality of a precision mic. These are more utilitarian and therefore do not have to be as precise in reproduction of enharmonics and timber.
As a road mic, yeah it'll do, but for studio sound you need a bit more responsive and precise technology. (This Means Fragile!)

This Alec Baldwin malarky is a great distraction from the MAIN news today: that basically the US president said he will go to war with China if Taiwan is attacked.

 Shocked

Not a single media outlet is leading with that. Which one will affect the average "joe" more?

He says it so that it doesn't need to happen, so most people don't need to care.

If he didn't say it, while China is putting pressure on Taiwan, then that would be worrying.

If Taiwan is attacked and not defended, their plan of last resort is to blow up all semiconductors plants.

Then we will be in trouble.

How is that news to anyone but alzheimer Joe? He already said that at like the beginning of his presidency. And Im sure he will say again.
