It means you are now the banker sucking the pennies out of dirt poor farmers pockets.
If that was the goal all along then yes you are winning.

Well, snark aside, I'm just saying, providing this liquidity after channel open and close costs is not free.

Nevermind loop fees for rebalancing.

Kinda trying not to unzip my pants here, and beat you across the face. Ya dig?

Well somebody is about to receive a rusty pipe treatment...  Grin

Yes, but I wonder how they are going to react next year when when the bear market comes and it just keeps going down. There might just be rioting in the streets.

What if the bear market never comes?  Cool

What if we currently are in one….

What IS there has never been one ever?

My belated Sunday haiku.

Well what can I say
Phone is cheap and I am old
Makes it all foggy

I thought you were going to say that your phone is starting to feel the heat of the coming rally! Perhaps it has started to melt?  Cool

But one possible buzzkill.  I am pretty sure RTL shows fees as millisats.  In other words 243600 is 243.6 satoshis.

Yeah, column clearly notes "Fee (mSats)".

It feels very greedy setting a 0 base fee, and then a number of "2500" for the LOOP channel fee-rate mSats, just to keep it somewhat "stable" at this stage, and not bleed me dry.

On the other hand, is earning 243 sats on routing 243600 sats a fair trade? Should I reasonably charge more across the board? Is that too much? Not enough?

Not sure how these questions are answered, yet.

It's getting to the point where I want to reduce the number of times where I update all fees for all channels, then go back and re-micro manage each node - as I've already done.

Eg: WO nodes get really low fees. Other people get another level of standard fee. Big fish get charged a larger fee. Would dislike redoing that all to pull in more profit, without getting a sense of "what is fair to begin with" ?

Sorry, very confusing...

Cлaвa Укpaїнi!
Morning!

So, I bought some BTC today for the first time since 2014.

I decided to do a little experiment, I was offered a loan from a company (Qliro) and accepted, I borrowed 20 000:- (about 2300 USD), I set aside four months worth of payments on the loan (this will be used to pay of the loan for the coming four months) and bought btc for the rest (17500:- (about 2000 USD)) and I put those btc in a separate wallet.

Now I'm going to sell these btc in December when we go skyrocketing and the little experiment here is to see how much money I will make on this.
The plan is of course to repay the loan in full in December and do something fun with the profit.
I have been offered to up the loan with another 50 000:-, I might do that, still thinking about it.

So, as you can see the whole point is to make money without having to put in any of my own.

I did accept the offer to up the loan with 50 000, the money should be in my account on Monday, I will move it to another bank and do this buy from another broker, the brokers I use take about 10% commission, so my firs goal will be to reach break even.

Update on my loan experiment.
I have now reached break even.

10% commission? To buy Bitcoin?

If you're too lazy or uninterested in buying from an exchange, like I am, that's the price you have to pay.
However, I have finally gotten around to sending them the requested info needed to became a high prio customer, so now I only have to pay 2 % when I sell them.

Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it
there for you have keep 49,752SATS extra on the bfx-lnd1 channel.

Aha! That was the missing link to my understanding. Thanks.

EG: Cranked the fees on my LOOP channel, and getting retarded fees.

Does this mean I'm winning?

Has the Queen banned the use of percentages, or is there some sort of lizard conspiracy to make this chart extremely dumb and useless?

She’s probably too busy working on keeping her paedophile son Andrew out of prison.

You forgot rapist also, which I think is the actual allegation from the woman in question.

That's right. I don't think Randy Andy's actually a paedo. He apparently likes them young - minors included, all right - but that's different. A paedophile likes them sexually immature. An acquired taste, most frequent in refined clergymen.

Google partners with Bitcoin and crypto marketplace Bakkt.

Quote
Today Bakkt, a Bitcoin and crypto marketplace and custodian, announced a partnership with Google to extend the “reach and usability of digital assets to meet rapidly evolving consumer demand.”

Bakkt users will now be able to add their virtual Visa Debit cards into Google Pay to purchase goods and services in-store and online, wherever Google Pay is accepted. Bitcoin payments will be converted into fiat to make these purchases.

... this seems big

... I wouldn't trust Google not to datarape it's google pay users but if you don't mind trading privacy for convenience, which many don't apparently, then this has potential to drastically expand btc usage

Bakkt is going to be one of the big future players imho. I don't like stocks, but just to have fun I was thinking of buying some of the VIH stock (that will be transformed in bakkt on 18 October if I understood right) and enjoy the ride.

Even when percentages are finally mentioned in articles in the UK, the "media" are happy to go along with the pathetic 3% or "WOWOWOW" 4% inflation narrative,

I reckon the real UK inflation rate lies somewhere around 12% this year.

There should be stiff penalties for misreporting inflation. Since inflation is akin to a a tax on past savings, the penalties should be similar to those for income misreporting, only you're talking about the wealth of a whole country, so jump straight to the highest bracket. The people responsible for lying about inflation should have all their possessions confiscated and be thrown in jail. The cell key should be placed onto a loaded bitcoiner's boat (likely to have a sudden accident).
