I took the extended graph from this article - https://medium.com/quantodian-publications/when-moon-rational-growth-ranges-for-bitcoin-ffaa94c9d484 (The author is https://twitter.com/InTheLoopBTC)
This post was from Sept 2019 so I added a couple of price points (the red vertical line indicates where the graph stopped previously) and connected the points (using straight lines not best fit).   I also connect some key dates and levels and added some log lines between $100k and $1mill to make it easier to visualize.   The purple star is the approximate theoretical max on a very theoretical date this cycle (I just used the previous cycle length) but we have exceeded the theoretical max previously as you can see.  So many caveats - I guess this is more art than science.  Just trying to help myself to visualize the hopium.  Go BITCOIN!

Here’s the link to the original post
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-the-global-money-3742

It’s interesting to read since it’s from 2011 and in 10 years Bitcoin is already being traded all over the world. But Bitcoin is not going to replace any country’s economy for sure. Bitcoin is a store of value not a type of cash to replace daily transactions like if you buy a coffee you wont be using Bitcoin. That’s why I read many people here on WO said buying a Tesla with Bitcoin today would be same as buying pizza with Bitcoins. When you use Bitcoin to buy Tesla in reality it’s Elon Musk who’s buying Bitcoin with Tesla.

Bingo, you nailed it.

Look how hard that PayPal, Tesla, and soon other companies are working to now suddenly offer more ways for Average Joe to directly spend their bitcoin? They think bitcoin users desperately want that, because that's what those users dreamed of in the beginning---using bitcoin as a direct currency. But now bitcoin users are becoming wary of spending their bitcoin on "depreciating stuff". Companies want your valuable bitcoin asset, and want to give you "stuff" in return. That's because they know that a) bitcoin is still way undervalued, and b) bitcoin is far more valuable than the "stuff" they're selling you.

Plus as a U.S. citizen, I don't even get it. I would still have to pay capital gains tax on my bitcoin, whether I spent it directly on stuff, or sold it first and paid with the fiat. So why bother spending it directly at all? I have a digital fiat account for that. By taxing gains on directly spent bitcoin transactions, the U.S. has made a ginormous mistake...by inadvertently creating more diamond hand hodlers.

Someone(s) is really interested in making it seem like Bitcoin is worth almost exactly 60k.

Same people that thought it was only worth $9k.

Has this thread become slower or is it just an Easter slowdown?

When I post, sometimes it appears to not work or go real slow indeed but then Google Chrome has become a CPU hogging bastard these days. Not sure it is the site or whatever.

Not it’s not you alone it has been really slow for quite some time. But happens only when you submit a new “post” this is something to do with cloudflare I guess. You might have seen this when you try to view “All” posts in one page. So I guess theymos does some bunch of verifications before posting a new post and that makes you wait for solid 5-10 seconds at least.

But after that if you try to edit and save the post it’s pretty much normal and faster as usual.

Oh I meant the amount of posts compared what it used to be about 2y ago or so Smiley

Then I had 4-5 pages overnight, now it was just one.

Must be the Easter.

EDIT: Or maybe I'm just bored, time to play around with some shitcoins  Grin

Looks like road to $60k is still blocked.... so an off topic news

Have you guys heard of “ 'Satan Shoes' with human blood”... yes real human blood!!!

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-56609333

May God smite all those shoe buyers with the power of a million bees. Repent, repent!

For their soul is not their own to take. Nor shall they ever understand until they accept Jesus and not a single shoe in their lives.

Ney, it is God, God that makes the decisions on this flat wholesome earth.

May those that see the world beyond its four flat edges fall of them and back into Satan's evil hands.

Repent!

----

On a lighter note, has anyone ever seen that beautiful Toxic Vision clothing ass before?

Crazy Satan clothing, but that ass!

Addicted to HoDLing!
@Jimbo is an exception.

Most older men I knew did not last more than 10 years after retirement.
Of course, if you manage a ranch or a complex investment portfolio, it could be a different story.
Rolling Stones never retired (Keith and Mic are both 77). Not for the lack of funds, right?
Same for Paul. They do what they like-that is probably a solution.

I "retired" (i.e. stopped being an employee) in my 20s.

It's indeed all about doing what you like.

The stress of disrupting your lifelong routine is what kills people. Get that crap over with while you're still young.

If you look it like that it's the same for me, early 20's. Been doing what I like and haven't been "an employee" for a very long time now. I do my own schedules and work when I see fit. Obviously it's not been so great moneywise all the time but still better than slaving for "normal" wages.

Same here. I've been doing what I like since my 20s, and would pay good money to do what I do now, so I can't complain. Money-wise it's just the average salary, won't make you rich, but there's Bitcoin to take care of that.

In other news, it seems that there's a sink (think non-linear dynamics) around 50k € (around $59k). There are fat-ant dippenings, that are quickly counteracted by equally-sized pumpenings. Someone earlier mentioned a dick that's ready to burst—that's a nice analogy that prepares one mentally for the things to come when we reach $100k (hookers and all).

Off to to visit my little nieces/nephews soon (against COVID-19 restrictions, I must admit). Hope to see $60k behind us when I'm back.

Take care all, have a great weekend.

Dippenings, pumpenings, thanks JJG! #nohomo

Bitstamp iPhone app, tradeview Smiley

Oh?

I just downloaded the App, but then it looks like you are required to login to be able to use the app.

For security reasons (maybe thinking about a $5 wrench attack or some other kind of potential snooper like some kind of law enforcement officer going "above and beyond"), I personally don't want to be able to easily access my coins on bitstamp from my phone - so, currently, I am refraining from logging in.. and so in that regard, it looks like I cannot see that page..  Cry Cry Cry

All good things to those who wait
Well, I guess all those that rush to sell at 59K have no laser eyes.  Cheesy May be they don't believe in 100K? It is only 66.6(6)% away from 60K! Hence it may take only several days/weeks after breaching 60K to reach 100K. I remember 2 consecutive days in Dec 2017, when the price went from 11K -ish to 19600 making a 66% increase. So yeah, anything is possible.  Wink
