I generally recommend that newbies figure out their cashflow for 6 months, and then make an investment budget that is spread out during that kind of timeline that allows them to continue to learn about BTC while they are investing by dollar cost averaging, buying on dips and perhaps frontloading their investment a bit.

Or just go all in Grin

That is for more seasoned bitcoin holdlers. Many will drop off after putting in some dollars followed by a few pumps or dumps, seen many wall observers come and go over the years.

For those few sticking around it generally still takes a few years to get to that level of confidence, but it seems almost inevitable to not be over invested in bitcoin. Once you start understanding what money versus fiat is, what a powerful feeling it is to hold something that can’t be taken from you, can be transferred at any time to anyone around the world, how truly solid the Bitcoin network is, then it becomes a no-brainer really.

Long term hodlers easily get ‘over invested’ as well because number seems to have the tendency to go up. Which makes sense understanding the above.

New 2 BTC and investing in general - wanting to take advantage of the new world I entered at a very small 0.2 BTC @ 5.7k. Have plenty of funds and considering buying 1 - 2 whole btc as I'm gathering confidence that it'll return to 10k+

Discuss and help a newb out.

Wait until $10k/btc then you are sure.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"

Welcome, Here4Gainz.  You might need to provide more information about your particulars, but surely your own research would be part of any BTC plan.

I generally recommend that newbies figure out their cashflow for 6 months, and then make an investment budget that is spread out during that kind of timeline that allows them to continue to learn about BTC while they are investing by dollar cost averaging, buying on dips and perhaps frontloading their investment a bit.

Accordingly you can take your current cash available for budgeting towards bitcoin and add it with your cashflow that you expect to dedicate to invest in bitcoin over the next 6 months.  Divide that into three and invest 1/3 immediately and dedicate 1/3 respectively to DCA and buying on dips.

Of course, you can employ other variations of such recommended strategy to account for all of your own specific conditions, including  your cash flow, other investments, view of bitcoin as compared with other investments, risk tolerance, timeline and time and skills for trading, managing your portfolio or researching into bitcoin (including tweaking from time to time).

It's not about the Covid deaths. It's about their consequences.
Snakes don't do much damage to the economy, do they?

Well, maybe we shouldn't overreact and shut down the economy then.

Agree. If people could (would be willing to) interact in a manner that slows down the spread, economy could continue in some kind of "safe mode".
It's because many people are too dumb (simply put), so they get locked down.
Would be better to control spread via hygiene and technology to avoid overloading the healthcare system.
lockdown is quite a dumb measure, and if you even think of the consequences of taking the freedom of millions...

The other one should pick up shortly.

Ta-da.

Ok, later.

You girls need to ask for a raise from your handlers. Getting led around like bitches on a leash and made to bark lies on demand is very demeaning.

Maybe the public doesn't need to be told what to think by agents of the state who have to slink around covertly lying and manipulating in public forums?

Don't worry. Most of my "paper" wallets are encrypted silicon, duplicated and off-site.

Those that are actually paper (travel, current transactions, etc.) I keep in money-sized ziplock baggies along with pertinent transaction details like dates, amounts, sources etc.

I think laser printed paper wallets are better than inkjet printed, as the toner lasts longer and more resistant to moisture. I can't tell from the picture as there are color laser printers but they tend to be more expensive (and the toner as well.)

Mine are in those plastic folder binder thingies with sheet protectors.

... yes, like endemic obesity, high blood pressure, poor diets, low exercise, unfit, sedentary lifestyles, high smoking rates, high alcohol intakes, heavily medicated, high background pollution levels, high depression levels, poor mental health, high cancer rates, high average age, low vigor, etc.

Generally sick societies.

Aren't you a joy to chat with, I'm no expert of course, but I think you just described 99% of the world population. Tongue

You're never too old to think young.
Stop using the paper money. Seriously, paper money is the easiest way to spread any kind of germs.

Not my paper money.  Cool

You may want to seal those, just to be safe against deterioration and tearing.

I also archive my old swept wallets with their records. Some of them even have bits of forkcoins I never bothered to scavenge. They're also in baggies but additionally sealed in Mylar.

Someday even those forkcoin "faketoshis" might add up.

Edit: Number of cases testing +ve and deaths still doubling every 4 days ... i.e. 4 day doubling time.

Estimating back-of-envelope calculation. ~200k global cases confirmed, Fauci says this is 4 days behind actual and only 80% of cases getting tested. We probably have 2 million global cases right now. Therefore between 20,000-100,000 deaths in the pipeline (assumes infection spread halted totally today).

Most Brits aren't particularly fond of the C word  Shocked

fair enough.. probably getting them mixed up with the Aussies....  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

There I went down the tubes, trying to come off as worldly...

Yeah, the Aussies are far more likely to use it. But then, their vocabulary is pretty limited so they have far less choice in the matter when it comes to expressing themselves.

I believe Torque is correct, Our overlords will absolutely blame the virus on the market movements and the FED's reaction to printing 1.5 trillion to prop it up longer.  One must wonder if it was entirely engineered and timed, the virus, the panic, the markets, the money printing. Idunno Roll Eyes
Wouldn't put it past them if the WHO and other establishment organizations played it down until they got ready for some good old insider trades before ringing the alarm bells.

I'd be seriously surprised if there was anything that they could learn this late in that would shift the situation from "who cares" to "full panic". These issues are too well studied.

/tinfoil
Well that didn't take long to come to light.

Just you wait when the narrative goes full retard, to "the government cares, Costco loves you". Tongue

Kinda of curious about that tbh.
Much like the gold ban then, extreme measures, require extreme conditions to mature - to be adopted.

Seems that we've found something better than war. Something financially viable. Peace in a lock down sorta way. Where do I sign up? We'll know soon enough.

Needless to say, all this is crazy fucking uber bullish for BTC.
