An explanation for the dip...reddit talks about nasty rumors (stock market closing) sometime next week.
My take on this-it is a crazy thing to do due to many factors.
Not sure how this would affect bitcoin trading since, technically, it is not a stock market.
Also, what about bonds-you simply cannot close that since it is a source of funding for governments.
On the other hand-how you can justify closing stocks but allowing bonds to trade?

Money market funds-today in US 3mo and 6mo treasury bills are negative (-0.02%, despite FED saying that they should be in 0-0.25% range).
I sincerely hope that they are not going to bust the buck, otherwise people would sell off their money market funds.

Raul Pal's "trade of the centiry" got busted, maybe temporarily (dollar declined 1.8%):

Comment: it was inevitable, it was up 10% in a few days-too much for many countries to handle.

Do we have anyone here COVID-19 positive?
Hope no one yet.
I'm on my 5th day after returning home, through 3 airports and 2 planes. Whole trip took more than 24 hours. 9 more days till I'm "clear", but only a few till I can begin to relax.

Do we have anyone here COVID-19 positive?
Hope no one yet.

I had laryngitis for 6 weeks, cough & cold. My voice was like a whisper for ages. Other WO members will verify this as we met last month.

I don’t think it was COVID-19 any way.

Stay safe brothers. I am not going out much.

From where i live, 5 people infected..Sad

Taking the necessary precautions. Take care.

Afternoon all

New 2 BTC and investing in general - wanting to take advantage of the new world I entered at a very small 0.2 BTC @ 5.7k. Have plenty of funds and considering buying 1 - 2 whole btc as I'm gathering confidence that it'll return to 10k+

Discuss and help a newb out.

Welcome, Here4Gainz.  You might need to provide more information about your particulars, but surely your own research would be part of any BTC plan.

I generally recommend that newbies figure out their cashflow for 6 months, and then make an investment budget that is spread out during that kind of timeline that allows them to continue to learn about BTC while they are investing by dollar cost averaging, buying on dips and perhaps frontloading their investment a bit.

Accordingly you can take your current cash available for budgeting towards bitcoin and add it with your cashflow that you expect to dedicate to invest in bitcoin over the next 6 months.  Divide that into three and invest 1/3 immediately and dedicate 1/3 respectively to DCA and buying on dips.

Of course, you can employ other variations of such recommended strategy to account for all of your own specific conditions, including  your cash flow, other investments, view of bitcoin as compared with other investments, risk tolerance, timeline and time and skills for trading, managing your portfolio or researching into bitcoin (including tweaking from time to time).

Thanks for that.

All makes sense and useful going forward. I suppose my situation varies slightly - I have a lump sum cash amount which I don't need for the next 5 years minimum.

What is considered a dip? The one a few days ago to ~4.5k is an obvious one but is there certain % drop considered a dip worthy of investment? I suppose any dip is a good dip

Our Kelly has been profiteering from insider info on impending misery. How could she?

Well, technically she hasn't.
Classic AmeriCAN argument(s).

Beautiful to watch though, I did not spot a single pantomime - out of the possible 21. Wink

I think this one has bad intentions toward us all.

i actually deleted my post you quoted as its pretty bad taste for a joke. but bad taste has never stopped me before. sounds like something i would do actually.

he had only 1 post (that one) when i quoted so there no trust history. yet.

Your post brought this plague to public attention (i.e., my attention), whereupon I created trust feedback.  (“Neutral”, because I do not use negative feedback for non-serious purposes; this is the third “neutral” that I have left in fine humour, and the second one that I’ve left for an alt account that had some humorous element (though the other one had a serious purpose).)

As for the taste of the joke, yes, I will laugh at the plague and laugh at death, too.  It is superior to panicking.  Indeed, I most appreciate the joke now of all times, because I can’t drink myself silly when I am trying to find serious information for serious personal situations.

Breaking news.
For the first time in Europe, an italian bank offers direct real bitcoin wallet on their services.

Italian Bank offers Bitcoin Wallet Integration in their Online Platform.

Think about square, but integrated on a traditional bank approach.

I know, not your keys, not your bitcoin.
But a lot of people simply cannot understand how to hodl.
This is a state of the art- secure framework to hodling your funds.

Even if you don't like it (fully legitimate to think so), this is an option for more people to jump in.

A nice article from
Italian bank releases Bitcoin wallet despite coronavirus

Italian bank releases Bitcoin wallet despite coronavirus
Challenger bank Hype’s integration of crypto wallet service, Conio, lets customers buy, sell, and transfer Bitcoin.

In brief
  • Italian challenger Hype has released a Bitcoin wallet.
  • The wallet uses multiple keys for security.
  • Bitcoin offers an alternative to traditional cash, which can spread coronavirus.

A good reason to focus to Italy, for a change.
