expect a slow gird up, with a few dumps along the way, every time the rally gets out of hand.

I am fully invested in BTC, but do maintain a very active pirate watch. There is a chance he may sail to far north looking for bears to wake up and get stuck in the ice. If this happens the opportunity to get some of the pirate booty may present itself.

I got some, but the rest of the $ is stuck in Gox when I wanted to shift it to get a cheaper price.

There are still around 1000 BTC below 12$ on bitstamp.net and btc-e.com each.

I made the same observation, it usually takes 1-3 hrs to move BTC from/to mtgox from/to somewhere, unless you use bitinstant, but they have tight limits on how much you are allowed to move (around 1k $ or something a day or so). Its always better to have your balance split on two or three exchanges, if you wanna make use of sudden spikes and transfer the money where you want it afterwards.

I just saw a brief pop up to 12.08 on the gox ticker and btccharts does not show it. So I am thinking that those two blips are not the currency conversion ticker bug. Unfortunately, I was not capturing the data when it happened.

Apparently, mtgox includes trades in other currencies and converts them to USD.

If it's a feature, it's a really, really crappy one Cheesy
