Corrupted bitlocker partition. Most data is intact, but the drive master key couldn't be recovered.. I've had it sent to multiple data recovery companies
I do think you have the possibility to brute force this with the help of the bitcoin community (think of all the gpu power out there)! 10% finders fee of the correct key?
256 bit AES key, might as well try to brute force the top few here, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/z-92423 , it'll be more profitable.
If the majority of the bits are recovered it might be.
The bitcoin network could theoretically brute force 22 bit out of a 256bit key in 10 minutes considering current hashrates.
