...A low ask would also seem to say to me the supply is drying up,...
For Bitcoin this is a relative term.  Were it only an investment/speculative tool then it is not unrealistic (even if only temporarily) that we should get to a stage where the confidence in an increasing price means nobody is selling.

However, fortunately for us Bitcoin is also a means of transferring money across borders and of trading for goods and services and whilst a significant amount of the goods being traded or need to be bought in fiat traders will need to be selling Bitcoin to restock fiat - likewise for Bitcoin recipients of international transfer if most of what they need their money will be paid for in fiat.  So even if 99.999% of Bitcoin were in the hands of long-term speculaters/savers the .001% of Bitcoin remaining on the currency trading market would be enough for anybody who wants to to get in and would be enough for them, due to its divisibility, to use it for their desired purpose - even if it is saving/investing Smiley

depth

lol.

This puts the brakes on the rally. The people acquiring bitcoins aren't only competing with each other, they are fighting slippage as well. After a buying frenzy we see a few days cooling off period to let the depth build back up until one of the buyers gets itchy again.

They really love sell offs and the low walls built after a sell off.

Can you expand on this please? I understand the concept of waiting until the asks build up again to support higher volume, but I don't know if I agree that low ask volume translates into slowed rally. The ask has been thin the majority of this year. I posted a few days ago at around 30 ish that there was only 52k to $133713371337, and we have 10k more than that on the books right now. A low ask would also seem to say to me the supply is drying up, and if I wanted to get in on the action I would need to start making moves now before the price increased any further.

Id be cool with stable

Im a big fan of stability after big buys like this, if another rally or big buy up happens i feel like we will see some selling pressure

Shit. It is only monday today. Many people do not have their mtgox verified waiting with fiat and we have this low ask walls. 100 USD this week maybe. At least 40 for sure.
