Well, you have your answers as why those legendaries wore cap avatars and as to why they wore it. At first, when I saw someone change their avatar into cap with different designs, I thought it was some kind of promotion of their services or whatever they wanted people to know but later on it became a trend. You can say that it is like a gang in bitcointalk forum much like the other forum gang and you can say that it is a Avatar Cap gang which their emblem is a cap with any designs that the member wanted and you can also say that the founder is the one who created it.

Remember when a lot of Bitcoiners/cryptopeeps on Twitter were using profile pictures with laser eyes?
😆 Yeah, I remember that era. How that fizzled out quietly too like other trends before it. This too will sooner than later become "old school". Whoever thought ICO or IEO will be a thing that doesn't entice investors anymore? Sadly, that's what's happening now.

And that's what you call putting a hat on a hat.
That cap is nice looking (on soft copy). I won't mind wearing one of such with a nice t-shirt and a pair of jeans to match offline. Hoping that it looks as good as it's looking here on real cap.

I've been noticing on this forum for quite some time now that many legendary members use cap hats on their profiles without doing a signature campaign.  Why do they do this, I really want to know.  Please let me clear this up.

Basically most people from WO thread wear one and you also can get one if you want and the user profile mentioned above.
LoyceV once told me how to get avatar hat like that one year ago when I was really interested:

Can I get someone to gift me an avatar hat, I really want to use it. Would really appreciate that. Thanks
Since you have to ask, you probably don't know those originated from the Wall Observer thread. User xhomerx10 makes them for regulars.

The hat is sort of a badge for regular user in WO thread, who discuss things regularly there while active on the forum. I often go into that thread to read around even though I don't have any posts there. So the hat is a kind of award given to regular members of the WO thread like @JayJuanGee, @El duderino_, @fillippone, @vapourminer, @BobLawblaw, @nutildah and many others.

Almost all of the top 10 posters in the WO thread use hat avatars, cool for sure.

I used to wear one of them as well, basically its just for fun and there is no restriction that you need to be in a signature campaign to make post or wear avatar or wear signature. Basically most people from WO thread wear one and you also can get one if you want and the user profile mentioned above.

Remember when a lot of Bitcoiners/cryptopeeps on Twitter were using profile pictures with laser eyes? Yea, it's pretty much just some trendy thing — just in this case with the hats, in a far smaller scale. Don't over-analyze it. Tongue

I remembered them using during the crypto craze. One US senator that was for it changed her profile as well :p

From what I understand people who don't expect to get paid on this forum are the only ones using caps. And they are busy trying to improve the bitcoin forum. They have no intention of earning Because they use who else and they only aim to improve the forum.
No this is not the case as @Rikafip already told you about this and if your campaign allows you to customise your avatar according to your own preferences then you can have it while some don't allow it.Speaking about hat gang then you can see those who are prominent members in WO thread have these hats as their Avatar but it doesn't imply they are not joining paid campaign.

You can see @fillippone who also has hat on his profile as avatar but he is member of Chip Mixer campaign but they allow to wear any avatar so this is the case as you understand.

But if you want to know the history then you have links above to check and be more familiar with it and know how it all started and they became WO hat gang.

Make posts without getting paid??!

Must be some kind of sicko.

No but really it is xhomerx10 who makes the hats and he does a beautiful job. They are for regular posters in the WO thread but if you ask him nicely he just might make you one.

Not really, as you can still be a part of signature campaign and use cap as avatar and it all depends on whether your signature requires you to wear a specific avatar. For example, in my campaign I can use whatever I want as avatar and in some campaigns like BestChange you can use hat as avatar but you have to put their log on it.

Yes @DdmrDdmr sir ,, I collected all screenshot from wall observer (WO) . Actually I don't know why the most active legendary member worn cap in their profile. Today @Renampun cleared me , they wear cap as just for fun .
In addition, another way one could look at it, could be what cap connotes when they say idiomatically, "He who the cap fits, let them wear it." It's my way of rationalizing it any time I come across a cap avatar. By the way, you're right. WO is the part of the forum to find users who aren't into paid campaigns.

You can read through this thread to get some insights on why you’ll find those custom caps around on many forum accounts (focus on WO -a massive thread with its own ecosystem- and @xhomerx10).

There was a nice site around, created by @VB1001, which kept track of a large amount of them. Alas, the site is no longer active, but you can still get an idea by visiting an archived version of the site.

This posts is and end of 2020 recap (pun intended).

Not sure which user it was but someone here made an Avatar hat for themselves and others wanted one so someone kept making them for people.

I've found a thread (from 2018) with a tutorial on how to make one but I'm not sure who started the whole hat wearing thing: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/tutorial-less-than-one-minute-to-make-your-hat-or-other-avatar-look-better-5074115

all the members you mention make posts not to be paid. they are not involved in paid signature or avatar campaigns, and they are not marketing a service so in conclusion, they wear that hat "just for fun".

Ok sir ,,, thanks. I already got my question answer.
For several days it seemed to me quite desirable. However, I got to know the matter clearly from you today.
