i strongly support any censure on crypto as long as the wallet was used for a nefarious act. as long the wallet was used for criminal activities. such will go a long way. to build trust and support for crypto investors. everyone should be careful and but there is always the new people joining the crypto platform and they are susceptible to scams. such folks should be protected in all cost.

First link: It's about how a government may go with considering a crypto-asset as a national currency, which seems to be a very good idea that may help enlarge the crypto adoption worldwide. However, this is far to be true because of many reasons have been already mentioned in this article: https://blogs.imf.org/2021/07/26/cryptoassets-as-national-currency-a-step-too-far/
Anyway, i don't know how you consider this article as a fire starter against cryptocurrencies.

Second link: About how the Ontario Securities Commission won't let registered crypto-exchanges deal in Tether, and that users can't buy cryptocurrencies (other than BTC, ETH, LTC and BCH) for more than 30k$ per year.
I may agree with the restriction for Tether, simply because it's a centralized token that can be frozen by a centralized authority for whatever reason, but i don't see the reasons why to restrict in a 30k$ limit and why not excluding more other cryptocurrencies working with POW like others in the excluded list.

There is no war against crypto.

This is the top news of the day. However, It dosent seem to be a war in any kind. Making investigation and freezing a certain amount shows a control can be excersied from a central body which is against what we stand for.
One way or another, if we are citizens of a particular country, and also live in a certain country, we must obey all the laws that exist today. If law enforcement agencies have evidence that we are trying to avoid paying taxes with the help of cryptocurrencies, and also use cryptocurrencies for money laundering, then we will be punished according to the law, regardless of what views we hold and what we stand for.

I can't say anything about this right now, I've read the news and the source haven't reveal the real reason why the address was frozen, I will definitely like to get more answers on this hopefully, it's either USDC get some issue with regulations or illegal stuff @ work, let's wait and see

You think an address can just get frozen for no reason sake? Do you know how many USDC addresses that have more than 100,000$ USDC tokens in them and they aren't frozen? C'mon guys, there is some illegal activities going on with that frozen address I'm so sure of this

It's the same bullshit every year, no need to panic, crypto is here to stay no matter what their laws are.
Cryptocurrency will survive this bullshit again as always. Such news always pop up when the market is good & profitable, it's been green for top 100 CMC for more than a week now, no wonder they released such bullshit again.

I don't think it's war, because both of them are in the same protocol. so, this is a healthy competition and can be important for developers to continue to be the best and to be used by more people.

It is not any kind of war It just seems like they have blocked one wallet and reason could be some sort of crime, misconduct or breakage of rules so it is better to not use such words or posts that are deliberately used to create fud. If there was a war against all crypto then why they have blacklisted only one wallet?
In this case this is not a war rather it is an isolated case regardng on a certain wallet. Probably there is illegal activity being made and there are party requested for this action. Now, it just need to settle whatever problem that had been arises.

If there could be more wallet being blacklistes then there could be something wrong in the system like a bug? Well we coule nor say so unless there will be an official announcement to be made from them.

The reason why I have interest in crypto is because of freedom from the government and organizations that can control you and your money, I don't want this that's why I choose Bitcoin, Ethereum and Monero as my top crypto projects, centralized projects are become complicated

It's why I believe that decentralized project will be victorious in the future and all centralized Projects will be put aside, I will stop using USDT to safe funds as from today, this shows that anything can happen to any centralized crypto projects at any time, I'm not ready to take the risk

As per the tweet, it says that there's a "request" from the law enforcement. So before commenting, we need to look at the side of that request.
What if that address owner did something wrong which triggered the law enforcement to request such thing?

that should be a big question. I remember USDC has already sounded as a stable coin that will be truly decentralized. A privacy coin is not the only solution but we have dai as the second solution for this problem too. tether has been facing the same thing like this too in the past.
when looking at what happened to the USDC I think thinking DAI is the solution might be a good idea. but if you look at part of the altcoin market now it has become a stable coin. XLM, TRX, and XRP are probably one of the altcoins that now have slow market movements.

Freedom and Crypto are always on attach. There are a group of people who gets a cut of other's earning without doing anything. They benefit from oppressing the freedom. People claimed the death of crypto a dozen of times and plenty of country banned crypto and even criminalized trading and owing but it didn't stopped people from using crypto. There would be resistance to change but the change would happen, maybe not exactly the way we believe but it would.

Stable coins, altcoins, tokens, etc, all of those are centralized assets provided by companies. They can be easily shut down, coerced and censored.

Bitcoin/cryptocurrencies ideals and fundamental lies within bitcoin, and maybe in Ethereum also. No government can do a war against bitcoin. They can, but they will lose, because there is no real target that could be censored to control the network.

USDC, on the other hand, is just a company. Nobody will stand for them, and you shouldn't.
You have a point, it's why I like the fact that Satoshi Nakamoto remains a mystery till this day, he can be a target if he show the world who he really is, good one Nakamoto, good one. Decentralized projects are the best, investing in dex project is safer from preying eyes

I've read the news on the internet hours ago, what I can say is USDC isn't decentralized, that's why it's possible to freeze addresses on the platform, let them try this with DAI, I wish them luck doing so because it's impossible to freeze anything in DAI stable coin
that should be a big question. I remember USDC has already sounded as a stable coin that will be truly decentralized. A privacy coin is not the only solution but we have dai as the second solution for this problem too. tether has been facing the same thing like this too in the past.
