Its funny how often someone makes a new account just to post "OMG Bitcoin going to be worthless the sky is falling sell now B4Its2Late!"

I actually wonder what is the motivation for someone doing this.
I don't know if they do it just because they are trying to troll people, or if its someone with enough money to actually make a profit if a panic dump happens.
i guess they're just trolling, the FUD won't give affect so much except there's strong reason behind the FUD ,for example when bitfinex get hacked
it's really hard to affect people without strong reason, and don't think the one who done the FUD having that much money lol

Sometimes I think they are just trolling for kicks, but at other times I wonder if a whale stands to make a fortune if he can manipulate the price down, or up. If a trader had bet millions of dollars with heavy leverage he would be highly motivated to FUD the price in the direction that makes him rich.

That's a good way for you to stop people, but when it comes to opinion, everyone has its own.
So, you really can't stop this FUD when they are interested in getting bitcoins for cheap and will do anything to take the price down.

These games of hype and FUD belong to these markets.
Both sides, bulls and bears, have their interests and  will use every method they can to achieve their goals.
And we as the small guys without big pockets and therefore no chance in influencing the markets can just try to be patient, watch it from the sidelines or try to take advantage of the situation if we can depending on what side of the market you are positioned.

1200usd was reached because of mt.gox where bot was buying at insanely high prices with no fiat.

Thousands of people paid real money on legit (ish) exchanges at that price too. And China was the engine behind that rise ultimately.

I agree with you. I have seen quite a lot of posts with 'Fud'. Members who have a high status like Legendary or Hero member can have a good influence in investors ideas with Bitcoin.

Personally, I don't believe that the price is going to fall. It is already quite low. I think that it is the perfect time to invest in BTC.

Smiley
It's quite low based on what? Based on the fact that it reached the range of 700-800USD and then it went back to 600USD range? If you'll judge the bitcoin price based on how much it has been, then you can say that this price 580-600USD is almost half of what it was. It reached 1000USD back then.

Well, we can promote which ideas we think. If the higher ranks want to say that it's going down, then they can say that. It's their account. It's only up to you if you'll believe everything that people on the Internet say.

it can happen again, but this time we can go as a high as 2k if a new bot wave begin to spam order like with mtgox, i also believe that it was not only due tot eh bot back then, there were many newbie  because of doge

opinion is different from FUD and they both are a lot different from speculation which is the name of this board. and it is really easy to distinguish them from each other.
- FUD is false information or exaggerating something in order to spread or increase the fear and uncertainty.
- opinion: everybody has it but making a topic and just saying it is considered spamming and you can even call it FUD if it is negative and hype if it is not. and both are worthless.
- speculation is something that at the very least has some form of reason or analysis of the charts of market situation in it not a plain opinion!

I'm trying to stack some BTC up, so even if the price falls for me there's no reason to fear. My only BTC income at the moment is Signature campaigns.... So no risks involved!

Some say it's going to rise, some say it's going to fall. It all depends on what he other wants you to know or do.
Some succeed to fool you into that, some fail - meaning you do the opposite - and most are ignored.

And basically all are right and all are wrong, because the market goes up and down and up again and down again.
The ones skilled will trade and get big gains. The ones less skilled will trade and lose. And most of us just keep the few satoshi or Bitcoin we have for much better days, whether the speculators tell to sell or buy.

This has always been happening. Even when the price was high, people said it would reach $200 and now it's still not profitable for many to sell their coins. By now, investors must have already been informed about which sources to trust and which are fake. There were reports that suggested the price to reach $400 but fortunately it did not happen. I had already stopped buying coins when the price reached $630.

I think bitcoin ecosystem is well stable than in past with $9 billion+ marketcap now. So i don't think FUDS can actually dump the price, but if the recent event like bitfinex hack and similar keep on happening than it may become really bad for price stability.

hacks like that with such a big size happen rarely. so it is nothing to worry about.
besides if you check out the effect of the hack and the dump you can see that the effect was somewhat big but only lasted for a very short time and bitcoin price went back up fast. and now we are only around 4-5% below the pre-hack price of $600

I couldn't care about the "whales" and how they feel about the fudsters. They need us more than we need them. They are the ones amplifying the fear, uncertainty and doubts, so they can buy on the dip and sell on the high. Me, I make money either way, just like the boss.

There has always been FUD being spammed through this forum, even back when I was just starting out I would see a ton of FUD being spammed by either trolls or shills and none of this has really changed all that much. There are people who will just do this and muck around with it for one reason or another, and you just have to be able to figure out who they are and be able to ignore them.

Lately there hasbeen a lot of posts about the price going down.

Dont post 'fud' without a good reason for the fear. really there is a lot of investors and people with real money out there. they will not be pleased if you start posting 'fud' or bad information.

Thank you

this has been the story of this board for as long as this board has existed. and there is nothing anybody can do about FUD, although most of the brand new accounts posting FUD crap will get nuked by a mod but there are still legendary members like kokduck Wink who spread their FUD.
we have to learn not to listen to them and never feed them by commenting.

Fudsters have always been a part of the scene - at least ever since I began in bitcoin. They will always be spreading their fud whatever the price. The people who seem to be influenced the most by the fudsters are the weak hands and who needs them anyways. I'm sure the traders love when weak hands sell due to the fud. For the rest of us like myself, fudsters are pretty much a nonfactor. If anything, I find fudsters quite amusing actually.

it is in fact part of their business. I've seen post in the past about a user hiring some trolls and its purpose is to spread FUD.  It has been proven to be a good way to spread fears and make these users earn more as well.  They do have some strategy so its better to just investigate on your own whether to believe what they are saying or not.
