You know, I kind of relate to what you said about even people close to us being the scammers.
It's no surprise as we all at some point in life have faced this. Those who are close to us are the ones who will always try to take advantage of us. Just because they know more about us they have the perfect weapon to attack us. I have seen friends who have been with me for a long time and never talked about anything regarding money. The moment I started earning money, they came to me with this and that schemes to make more money. Because they know I have money now and they can take it from me for their advantage. I was naive and gave them money for investment. I never got that money back.

They have no proof of where they used that money and made losses or profits. I have learned from my mistakes already. Now whatever it is, I always make sure to double/triple check everything and want a memo or papers about every shit. Helps a lot LOL.

We are only humans after all. It's not like that I will never get scammed. But staying safe from it is common sense. Be cautious about everything. Even the close people to us sometimes try to scam us for their advantage. Double-checking is a must for everything especially when we are dealing with anything on the internet.

I agree with the fact that people who get scammed are the ones who lack knowledge about it. Gaining knowledge should be the first priority before doing anything. Not only just knowledge but proper knowledge. I don't even trust myself, and these people are trusting strangers whom they met on the internet. The internet has made our lives simple and complicated at the same time. If we are not careful about using it, then the latter one is for us.

You know, I kind of relate to what you said about even people close to us being the scammers.
In the case of ponzi schemes, those take advantage of the reputation of others, so uninformed people will end up recruiting more victims into the trap.

I have myself dealt with people I have met face to face who have presented to me some way to make some money, passive income, and it did not take me 2 minutes before realizing it was a ponzi. The only difference between I and another possible victim is the awareness I have on scams.

If you have friends who like to gamble or are getting into the world of cryptocurrency, talk to them, about the most common strategies of scammers.

How ignorant will you have to be to get scammed like this?

You would be surprised on how gullible some people on the internet can be, either because their lack of experience or because they allow greed to take over their common sense. In their minds, it makes sense some stranger on the internet wanted to allow one to profit for free.

And I agree, scammers did not seem to get more intelligent or use new tricks to trick their victims, it would seem that this ecosystem is full of people who do not understand completely the concept of self-custody and the fact satoshis cannot be recovered as some bank transfer can be, both the gambling industry and the crypto community is not for those who do not understand noone is to be fully trusted with money, specially if met in a random Telegram chat, for Gods sake.  Roll Eyes Sad
It's actually common sense to notice these kind of scams however there still a lot of people who fell for it even on those scam attempts that are really simple.

Sometimes, these scams are just to safe to think about such as them asking for your account credentials and even depositing on your account whilst you have an access with the funds until you realize that they've change your password on your gambling account and other social or email with the same credentials.

I even tried to entertain them before and was able to gain access on their funds that they've deposited and put the funds on hold.

However, one of the most intricate gambling and trading scam I've been almost a victim was when they've made a group chat and informed everyone about what will happen. Some members will directly message you to make sure you'll be on board until you realize that most of the members on that group was just part of the whole scam.

How ignorant will you have to be to get scammed like this? If they are offering you such a thing, you should at least check the history, do some research on the Internet. That's not so hard to do. Most importantly, why should you choose platforms that are not reputable? If the scammers are using big platform's name, you can always go to their online support and verify.
Even though the scam method is simple and classic, but for some reason he is so confident in that kind of scam method, his greed wants to get the big profits that the scammer is offering him and he hallucinates that he will get rich from the scammer's fake gambling bot, finally he realizes he has been cheated and regrets following. instructions from the scammer, even though the scam case is ridiculous, some people believe in this simple scam trick.

And I think that's why the scam is very effective though, it's so simple that everyone can really fall for it (not only the trick from the scammers that the OP is showing). And this scammers knows how to play their victims mind, showing some numbers around our mind and then we fall for it until we realizes that it is too late and regret that we like being controlled by this criminals.

Hopefully it will be a lesson for anyone to be careful about receiving messages from unknown people, it is recommended that he improve his analytical skills or check the reputation of the gambling site before registering an account.

For sure, everyone reading could have a glimpse of what kind of trick the scammers are pulling on us. So we must be ready and check everything first and uses our gut feeling that something is not right.

Scammers are not getting smarter, we are getting lazy. We have everything in the palm of our hand and yet we ignore it all and listen to strangers. I mean, why? Doesn't take that much effort. If anyone even tries to contact me whom I don't know, I always ignore or report and block. And fortunately for this reason, I have never been scammed.

Fraudsters are always innovative to reach their victims by offering many things including winnings, if you think someone is coming to you it is clear that he will cheat him but sometimes people are complacent with the offer of 70% winnings and 30% fraudster commission it is a classic scam that we know.

Once there was a stranger by offered a new casino with winnings above 70% at this time did not respond to him because he knew the person who came unknown in the telegram was clearly a fraud, so I already knew how this would happen if someone came unknown then it was necessary to avoid and choose a casino that had really been played for a long time by you, because there was no casino that could be expoliated.

Well this is very common, it seems that they have been using any mode a lot, the most common and the one that many people have fallen for is telegram, which Makes a lot of investment, many things, where they can offer to Earn a lot with little, and the things like that are for one to think abou t, now a casino has a very peculiar way of making certain Moves , the first move will Always be to be able to attract with many very good promotions, and that contain Large profits, things that are sometimes very Strange in a casino is almost as they say, a high percentage of profit for a small investment, or playing with little money, so when we see this type of things it is quite difficult to ignore that something good can happen, when a casino gives away many things ummm that's something to review very well, because it seems Strange, there are always things associated with the requirements to do, so Depending on things you can subject yourself to many things , First to a Thorough review and second to see if they Actually pay for It.

On some occasions I have seen that some cases occur in the forum, that some casinos have arrived that always make themselves Known in the best way, even with a Signature Campaign and Everything, they give good bonuses, almost without requiring Heavy Wagers. , sometimes they can even regulate money or balance to cover a Number of bitcointalk users, so this type of thing, plus the signature campaign, and a large Amount of advertising through social networks, this is something that always It has happened, personally I would think that things will always be very determining when it comes to finding a casino that can offer us great riches, that is very strange , Always to do something very big you must do a lot of work , Nothing in a casino is free That's why many good Things have to be reviewed because in general it's bad, it's Incredible  but there's little good , so whenThere Are these Types of Things , they're the Ones we Should Take Care Of.

To me it is not only the fact they are trying to scam people out their money, but the fact they also are trying to get your personal information, ID and even pictures of your face it is quite disturbing.

This has a bigger negative effect on us as gamblers. If we do this, our information won't only be used once, but they can use it many times to scam people or an organization, and we will be in trouble without even knowing about it. It's better to prevent this from happening than to get lured easily by some offers that seem too good to be true. While money can be regained, our reputation, if destroyed, could affect us in the future.

Correct.
Would you imagine if someday you wanted to fly on a plane and people in the airport took to you the interview room and you were in trouble because of some illegal stuff a scammer tried to do with your identity?

That is why I would only summit my KYC information to a casino which has been around for some years, because in the end, we do not know what a shady casino is capable of, specially when comes to information handling. Even if the casino does not have bad intentions, if.big companies like Sony, Facebook and Google can suffer from hacking and leaks, we can only speculate what would happen with a small service.

Thanks for sharing this. I believe it's always going to be a scam if it's too much. Like what others said, it's a "too good to be true" type of thing. Too much in a short time might make it really seem illegal or something. It's still best to make sure that you are doing the right things and are legal. Be careful.

Whenever I receive PMs like that, I sometimes go along the ride and just waste both of our time with that. Maybe I would be helping someone not get "PMed" in a bit lol.

If I could guess what they are trying to do, it must be an attempt to later sell the personal data on the dark web or even try to extort their victims for even more money.  Sad

That is why I immediately block anyone who tries to contact me on Telegram or Discord and we have a casino or crypto server in common, it is about 99% of a chance they are scammers.

Scammers are now getting smarter at tricking people. I feel sorry for the gamblers who get scammed, especially since there are quite a lot of gamblers who want to get rich quickly, they will definitely be targeted by these scammers. There is nothing we can do to prevent scams like this, but we can prevent this from happening to us by not easily trusting what people offer from Telegram or DM and always checking first before trying a gambling platform.
We can prevent this by not serving what they offer. Somehow, they can tempt us into accepting their offer, and we end up being deceived. And yes, always checking what they offer can prevent us from being scammed. And don't easily believe what people we don't know say via Telegram because we know that Telegram has a lot of scammers.

When there is a very attractive offer, the psychological impact we will get is to immediately imagine how much profit we can get. And it will make us dazed and unaware so that we join them.

This is a common scammers formula and it very clear and easy to detect their scheme,  why should you trust anyone through pm,  most especially in cases where they contact you first?

This is a clear case of scam that should be easily detected unless for the greedy ones who may want to try out their luck in such manner,  but thank goodness ops is warning us beforehand and we should take caution with offers that come through pms.
That's their target actually, the greedy ones. Those who are in bad need of money or those who had enough on their losing streak. They are weak and can easily be manipulated since they are not thinking straight anymore. All they want is to have that one chance to win and then these guys will come out offering something that is so good to be true. Sadly, there are people/gamblers who are still biting this kind of scheme.

Telegram is filled with this kind of people and recently I also found out that Discord is also infected with the same kind of scheme. I thought I will never have a PM in Discord from an unknown dude but as I checked it today there are tons of PMs now offering the same shit.
We should assume they are everywhere now. When you join one group, they are there, when you accept one unknown friend, it becomes a chain and then there's no ending it unless you create a new account.

The false KYC can be damaging in so many ways, fake loans, making a fake company, tax fraud etc. All things potentially way more damaging than the money lost.
Fake loans are the scariest because most of the time, the fraud department would probably ignore it because fake loans tend to be not that big and the victims don't really know what to do when they become the victims of this fake loans. The others you've mentioned, a competent team of accountants and fraud investigators would be enough to quash these operations. Another one that you should mention which would've been my choice as the most dangerous is probably the stealing of the identity entirely to commit more heinous crimes besides the obvious financial crimes.

Not really a new trick but given that it's not used by a lot of crypto scammers, it seems new to many. This is just one of the many ways that a social engineering scam looks like, people are emotional and the scammers know that with enough sympathy, you will let your guard down and that you're going to listen to what they're asking. Gladly I wasn't contacted by any of these scammers yet, I'm not scared too much about the losing money part, what scares me is the KYC part because they're going to steal your identity and you have no way of knowing what they're going to do with the stolen identity from their false KYC.

Agreed! The monetary loss will in many cases be the least of their worries if they fall for both parts of the scam. And as you pointed out, its social engineering and for it to be profitable, they only need very few victims. (the same reason the scam emails kept circling around about nigerin princes etc, it didnt stop because it worked)
The false KYC can be damaging in so many ways, fake loans, making a fake company, tax fraud etc. All things potentially way more damaging than the money lost.

Many victims can fall for this because of their reaching out method. They do it gradually and invest enough time to convince their victims. A lot of inexperienced online gamblers would lose money and ID cards to these people. They don't do any review check on the site, know if it's registered or licensed, their location whether offshore or not. Although, these people invest more time and dedication in finding victims, they still get tired if no one falls for them. That's why people should remain updated and smart ahead of these scammers. If not they'll still stick around and come with new technique that's not quite different from their previous moves. These KYCs are being sold to the wrong hands, but the owners of the ID or documents don't get penalize if the buyers use for illicit things. However, the disturbance or being called by the police is also stressful. Because the police or law enforcement agency are aware of the ongoing sales of leaked documents flooding all over the internet. They carryout background checks and will find that the victim is innocent and may have left their persornal information on the wrong hands. The problem still lies on the fact these victims at the cost of looking of quick profits will definitely be scammed. The available of review sites, is to reduce scam, yet their activities flourish because people don't use them or don't know about the existence of such sites.
