just received this:

We removed the following listing(s):
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Unsecure payment methods that don't ensure safe online shopping for both buyers and sellers aren't allowed on eBay. Because we are unable to verify whether the correct person receives payment, instant or point-to-point money transfer services are not allowed.

To learn more about accepted payment methods, go to:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/accepted-payments-policy.html

Thanks,

It may have something to do with this:

I am not vouching for the accuracy of the information.

That post is 11 months old, they sure are not moving fast....

I sold my first mining contract on eBay yesterday, buyer paid with PayPal, no problems yet. The word "Bitcoin" was all over the auction, including that they could pay with Bitcoin if they desired....

I don't believe they are targeting Bitcoin because of FinCEN, I agree they are targeting Bitcoin because it scares the hell out of them.

Fuck PayPal. Fuck them.

I've had SO much shit from this shitty company;  including them taking £100 from me after they took it upon themselves to decide that a transaction was fraudulent (against both mine and the buyer's wishes). Fuck them. As a seller you are completely shafted and at the whim of whomever you are selling to of chargebacks. I avoid them at all costs now.

Paypal's market cap is $72 billion, compare to a $6 billion market cap for bitcoin.   When bitcoin's market cap can dwarf that, then you can say that.

Market cap of Ebay is $ 72 b. That of Paypal is much lower.

I smell fear.

I love the smell of fear in the morning because fear means there is money out there someplace.

Scared money.

I love it!

My $.02.

I like big BITS and I cannot lie.
Seriously? Who the hell cares about paypal!

I feel sorry for those caught in the crossfire... that sucks.

But, Paypal is crap. It's unnecessary and costs too much.

lol paypal ... who is still using that? ... paypal is expensive, complicated, slow and they treat you like a child. The age of peternalism should be over. Paypal is history and they know it.

Never use PayPal for anything. involving bitcoin. It is just that simple. PayPal stands to be the biggest looser if bitcoin catches on. Why would they want to help us?

FTFY

I haven't used PayPal much since 2009, and quit altogether, last year.

WHy to use PayPal if you've got bitcoin Smiley

Well they never supported since day one.

Also people started exchanging lot using paypal that eventually came into notice

yea but i meanpaypal should look at it as a way to make money. if they accepted it as a payment option they could make a lot off of that. i think they should think of it that way then banning it

Nope..
I was bidding on some Bitcoin, too.  I checked it this morning and all my "buying" activity was gone.  I was wondering if the seller just cancelled the activity, but a ban on BTC seems more likely.  Now I can't find any BTC sellers on e-bay.
