However if OP did this for SEO, it's strange to publish a "warning it's a scam" content. It defeats the purpose since these warning posts/article would obviously show up on search results...

agree my assumption that is made also on purpose

no experience on our forum so they thought it will be removed (if openly advertise scam links) or at least will be moderated
same with Medium, could be reported and removed as scam advert if written differently

there is no sign on internet, one won't find it using google, only with direct link, so even if posted as a complain and called scam
there is no harm and even if then minimal comparing to value from backlinks

if assumption is wrong then all of this is monster coincidence, luckily thanks to our discussion (I hope) at least few people will learn to not spread scam links and give them strong backlinks at the same time when complain with content like this

... and in his explanation there are things I can't confirm

...I searched online and found out that many other people had the same problem... They had also lost their money and could not get any help from the website...

...There are no negative reviews or at least the negative reviews are not related to scam...
...There is no presence of them anywhere except here or in any trusted forum...

I also tried to find any scam reviews and couldn't, Scamadviser shows now 1 negative posted 3 weeks ago and 1 positive review posted yesterday, Trustpilot or any other websites used for this purpose don't show anything same as google

Okay, this is a bothering bit. I've dug deep and couldn't find the many people OP was talking about. It's suspicious why would someone lie about this...

I ran a plagiarism check: no hits
I ran an AI text detector: most places returned "likely an AI"

However if OP did this for SEO, it's strange to publish a "warning it's a scam" content. It defeats the purpose since these warning posts/article would obviously show up on search results.

I might come back to this after a couple of weeks/months to see if something gets edited/deleted. I did hear recently about newbies editing their post to add links/push some sort of agenda.

Looks like OP never replied in this thread (suspicious),

my assumption after reading is that they look for strong backlinks and to spread their malicious/scam website exactly here on biggest crypto forum

Would be good to start moderating this board and threads like this, just my 2 Satoshi
I want to support your support your suspicion too, OP should've replied to this thread a long time ago if it was really a problem for him/her, I wanted to counter your claim by presenting OP's Medium but it seems that OP used an inactive Medium account to post because the post prior to his article is from 2019 in Vietnamese although OP does switches back to English on other previous article. If you're right, this is such a brilliant way to scam people by spreading these links although I don't know how they expect people to get in it if they tagged it as a scam already.

Your keys, your responsibility
Why use link to scam website in every article few times, at start, in the middle and at the end of text, if you don't want them to be spread and advertised, why he provide fake info about many scam reviews and so on

but of course I can be wrong

Not all internet users understand how SEO works.
On his Medium blog he shares details with screenshots of how the OP was scammed. S/he shares it in the first line that readers should read first. I'm sure s/he really was the victim here.

Btw, I also found an alternative site belonging to the scammer: https://www.whois.com/whois/geminis.app

1. Scam DMs have been rampant hence it's totally possible for someone to find an obscure AF website without google-ling
2. I myself was not familiar with "backlinks" until I started seeing the term on the forum so there could be people like me who were just mindlessly copy-pasting links
3. OP not relpying does not seem suspicious to me. It appears they just wanted to spread the word and did not ask for some sort of help.

Sure I can be wrong is just my assumption after reading and small research

OP never shared how he found it, he use that link 3 times, and in his explanation there are things I can't confirm

...I searched online and found out that many other people had the same problem... They had also lost their money and could not get any help from the website...

Medium account just woke up after years of inactivity, looks like bought account (prepared 4 years ago, somebody posted in span of 1 month back then), in this article is exactly same text as here, person behind Medium article and person that left positive review on Scamadviser are from same country Vietnam

when we add that OP posted and disappeared never logged again, haven't read any reply, makes this even more strange/suspicious

Why use link to scam website in every article few times, at start, in the middle and end of text, if you don't want them to be spread and advertised, why he provide fake info about many scam reviews and so on

Not all crypto users, especially beginners, are aware of the existence of this forum. Besides most of them start using those fake platforms because they where introduced to them by people they trust or they because they were offered an offer they can't refuse and don't want to miss it. Like a huge deposit bonus or trade rates higher than what you can find on other exchanges? All I can hope is that OP has learned the lesson and will always do his own research before sending money to any platform.

The background from which many come is that financial transactions are relatively safe. Everyone who pays for online shopping uses Paypal, Visa, MasterCard or solutions in which he can get his money back if he does not like the service or during a guarantee period, which is something that does not happen in Bitcoin, as transactions are mostly final.
Scammers find it an opportunity as it is easy to convince investors to profit, especially if he made a deposit and was able to withdraw for the first time without problems.

I see that you are a newbie and this is your first post. I am so sorry for your loss, this kind of scam shouldn't be your first experience of Bitcoin and Crypto. This might not get your money back you can find recommended exchange easily on Coinmarketcap. One of the exchange on the list is OKX which is decentralized, but if you think you prefer centralized exchange there also bunch of them on that list.

For those that have got enough experience with scam using centralized exchanges will know how to narrow their search on what they needs when it comes to making a choice, anything that does not give us authority over what we owe is not reliable enough for use, scam is real and it's better to learn from other's experience than when we become the experience others learnt from, newbie always fall this victim and needs to be aware and take caution.

If you ever come back on this thread again, I suggest wrapping the sigft links in a code so they won't become backlinks for the platform...

I think this is exactly the case here...

Hmmm. I'm on the neutral side until I see anything closer to conclusive like being overly defensive/not recognizing the red flags pointed out for what it is.

Exactly, those beginners are not the same as experienced users on crypto field which is very large and bigger world once you get to know it. Now everyone can differentiate between a scam and a legitimate platform even having experience the very similar example were with FTX. Beside that we can’t say  that even we here have never been scammed due to a lack of experience and knowledge and sometimes despite being well aware we still fall into these traps.
Most likely the OP found this platform through a simple Google search and this sigft trading platform was sponsored by Google ads so it appears first to him. He probably didn't know about other trusted platforms, to choose over and this is his first experience which will be as a valuable lesson to avoid such losses in the future. Beside that it’s a great thing to join our forum and learn more here.

But if they had tried to learn about the platform by posting on this forum before using it, they would not have been scammed. Even after spreading so much awareness in the crypto community, crypto users are still falling victim to scams on various fake websites which is surprising. Actually newbies don't try to learn anything at first, but when they are victims of scams, they are somewhat interested in research.

I realized that I had been scammed and that they had no intention of giving me back my money. They had used a fake excuse to take my money and prevent me from withdrawing it. I searched online and found out that many other people had the same problem with sigft.com. They had also lost their money and could not get any help from the website.

That's always the case with many newbies they do their research after they got scammed not before using the platform, if only all of us will take the time and effort to research platforms that we are intended to use the scam platforms will be minimized, the scammers are motivated to create platforms to scam people because there will be victims and these are people who are careless and never bother to do research.
It's sad that newbies only post here about their experiences after falling prey to scams. But if they had tried to learn about the platform by posting on this forum before using it, they would not have been scammed. So sorry about your experience. There is every reason to doubt you because your accusation lacks proof and evidence to show. Possibly, you might be hired to defame the purported trading platform you claim they scammed you while looking at your profile.

The evidence is inside the linked medium.com article - whole article matches OP's statements.

In addition, the platform in question is obscure AF. It's highly unlikely that someone would hire a man to defame them because they're pretty much nothing to begin with.

They claimed to have Phone versions it can be downloaded on Google Play and App Store they have both widgets displayed on their homepage but the truth is those two widgets are not clickable, this is just to deceive users because if they do have they will get a lot of negative feedbacks and possibly reported.
People should stop using new Exchanges until such time they build a name and their reputation, established exchanges should be their first choice, and they should not be tempted by the price or trading fees offered by these new exchanges.

Newbies should really be careful choosing exchanges to use to, a simple deposit will be fucked later if you chose a scam one without a proper research or maybe even a simple research will really help.

I registered a random email, with a random 6 digit verification code and it works, means the site is an obvious fucked up. Also, the site uses a common scam exchange. How unfortunate someone got scammed again.

Possibly, you might be hired to defame the purported trading platform you claim they scammed you while looking at your profile. How could you have don such trade without conducting due diligence when you know it involved  funds and come to talk of it, no trading platform could demand that you fund your wallet more for easy withdrawal.

Learn to do your own research when you are engaging with any unpopular site so you do not fall victim of any kind in the nearest future. Members her are very wise and smart. As you can see, a member here  was able to unravel the identity of the said trading site very fast for you to  see which means that you barely did any personal research n it and possibly someone referred  you to that site which you probably do not ant to talk about.

Thanks for the abundant information, but if you did not withdraw, you would probably think that they are reliable and that you have a good income and try to deposit more. Always test the possibility of withdrawal before any deposit.
Negative indicators that indicate that the site is scam:

  • New registration date.
  • There are no negative reviews or at least the negative reviews are not related to scam.
  • There is no presence of them anywhere except here or in any trusted forum.
  • Most of their promotion is from paid articles.
  • ugly UI.

If you doubt any scam exchange, ask about it here.

You guys would just pick up your mobile device search for "trading platform" on Google search and then just start using the first suggestion without any proper research.

Code:
Domain:sigft.com
Registrar:ALIBABA.COM SINGAPORE E-COMMERCE PRIVATE LIMITED
Registered On:2023-06-22

ns8.alidns.com

As you can see the site was created just few weeks ago not even up to a month so how the heck were you able to find it in the first place, because I doubt this site will even pop up in Google search.

Aside from the creation date, the User interface alone should have been able to tell you that the site was probably creates by someone who just newly got into HTML and CSS and then decided to create a practice site.
