Wait. I thought Cryptocurrencies are something one is not supposed to talk about much if possible.
They have already gone this mainstream or perhaps I am out of touch?

Anyways, We don't celebrate thanksgiving here in my country.

NFTs were mentioned once. No talk of cryptocurrencies.

I assume they believe NFT's are rather a silly thing?

We also don't celebrate thanksgiving in my country, but the question can be changed to "Do you talk about Bitcoin with your family on holidays?".
Talking about money on the table with your family on holidays seems like bad taste to me.I wouldn't talk about Bitcoin or money in general with my family on the holidays.
NFTs are proof of ownership over a digital image, that can be verified on the blockchain. This isn't silly.
The silly thing is the pump&dump/hit&run scam nature of the NFT markets. The hype is too big, that's why so many people want to make some easy money by selling stuff that has questionable value.

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving but in gatherings the topic of cryptocurrencies has come up although they don't like it when I call out their shitcoins specially since they know next time I see them I would count their losses Cheesy

I assume they believe NFT's are rather a silly thing?
Most probably.
More like the ongoing scam/hype.

..not sure if this is a good or a bad thing? Could potentially mean it's a good thing because it could mean we may not have reached peak euphoria à la December 2017 yet.

I am sure that in many family gatherings for the Thanksgiving Day, one of the interesting topics that came out was Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, NFT and DeFi and this is just telling us that slowly but surely we are getting into the mainstream of the population already and it is just a matter of time before this whole thing can explode. Sadly, there are still so many countries that are not looking at this trend to be helping their economy as they prefer to maintain the control of their people's finances and economic standing. Happily, big countries like the USA, Japan and others are openly allowing Bitcoin and crypto to flourish. That is another thing to be thankful for these days.

"Stop using proprietary software."
My brother (23) passed three days before thanksgiving.

My aunt would begin to ask me various things about the fundamentals of bitcoin to take my brain off of things. Naturally, I was more than happy to answer. This was a tough Thanksgiving for me and my family. Bitcoin helped keep the mood 'light' when it needed to be.

I am very lucky to have such a receptive family open to new ideas.

Every thanksgiving there’s often a topic or two that’s almost assuredly to pop up, and this year Bitcoin/NFTs and all things cryptocurrency were one of these topics. I know it came up at my Thanksgiving party, how about yours? What exactly was talked about? Just thought this would be a fun social experiment.
