If that would be available in other countries as well, bitcoin usage would definitely have a boost as it is clearly a very good business. I work for a company that is in a lifestyle segment and our malls have cinemas scattered across the nation, and I hope the management would definitely look into crypto currencies as payment options, aside from the now trending entertainment reloadable card that is being accepted.
Using bitcoin in watching cinemas is a good idea for us. I think some mall will accept bitcoin as payment of there costumer. In the near future all market or mall in the world approved bitcoin.Lastly, I agree in that idea.

Even if the price reach 5k$ or above also until the transaction fees is not got lowered and fast confirmation is not made till then i dont think that no one will buy any thing for bitcoins as the transaction fees itself is high then the movie tickets you are going to purchase. So this idea is waste on the current scenario

Bitcoin cannot be used for micropayment because of tx fee issue. You will be paying more on fees than what you are purchasing. But this idea is not yet dead. If the scaling issues are resolved, the tx fee will be lowered and this idea can be pursued.

I agree with you, I think the resolution of the scaling issues will put Bitcoin in the right position to be used in a daily basis for micropayments like buying movie tickets, coffee etc.

I don't think they get it. Bitcoin is not appropriate for micro transactions.

You want to buy a movie ticket for $10 and pay a $3 transaction fee and wait for at least 10 minutes maybe longer for it to confirm? That's your business model? Doh.  Roll Eyes

I wonder how they will deal with the transactions delays. The can´t force people to buy tickets one week before and they can´t force them to pay high fees. I guess once the transaction is in the blockchain users will be able to watch the movie although the transaction is not confirmed yet. I guess Gocoin will take charge of this. It would be good for them to reach an agreement with some mining pool to put these transactions into a block.

http://www.coindesk.com/movietickets-com-bitcoin-payments-900-movie-theaters/

Are you from the USA have you already heard of a cinema accepting bitcoins as payment. A post was made by Pete Rizzo at coindesk dated June 15, 2015 saying that Movie Tickets.com will bring bitcoin to over 900 US movie theaters all over the United States. I was glad to read such article but given the date I am not certain if they have already implemented it or the theaters in the USA are already started to accept bitcoins.

Your thoughts on this..
Glad to here that i hope that would be available in our country but i hope it didnt have a so much fees and also not too much price in bitcoin value but this is actually a good thing and one step ahead in the future of bitcoin that will be the mainstream currency in the future for sure.
I don't know this news is true or fake. Because BTC confirmation is too late and if people buy tickets through bitcoin and the confirmation not done means they will allow us to watch a movie, or they will wait until the confirmation is done. I don't think it will work out. I am not from the USA, and in my country, we don't have this option.

Back in 2015 this was big news, but things might have changed a bit since then. I know some merchants who started accepting Bitcoin has stopped, because there were not enough business to support for it. If we want services and merchants to continue supporting Bitcoin, we will have to use Bitcoin for their services.

Can anymore say if they still pay for movies with bitcoins?
I doubt there are a lot of people who use Bitcoin for actual purchases, especially now that volatility is so high and you'd pay a couple of dollars in fees alone.
On the other hand, with prices so high, people might be willing to 'cash out' by making some larger purchases with Bitcoin, in those cases even a fee of a couple of dollars isn't too bad.

I would buy movie tickets if they start selling movie tickets for Satoshis not BTC. Seeing the price of BTC, it has gone out of the phase where people will buy things or services from it. It is more of an investment right now, If it reaches 5k$ or 10k$ and gets stabilized then it will be a great currency.

We would love to see this happen? I'm love going to cinema and watching movies in HD or 3D and I'm willing to pay premium just to watch the movie. If this this happen or happening now, then I will be happy and take advantage of me paying with bitcoins. This is really a step closer for bitcoin to be really mass adopted.

Can say that this is a new step of bitcoin, although not too significant. But with many progresses , the bitcoin will be used more widely. Once the bitcoin is used as other money, i think the bitcoin system and users will have these positive redirects, which will be expected.

there are a lot of these things, indicating real adoption out there. and it is actually a good thing for those who keep repeating bitcoin is just store of value to take their heads out of the sand and look around them.

of course these things won't last long if the fees keep on rising like this. nobody is going to pay for anything with bitcoin if it is going to cost them a lot. we may not yet be there but we surely are headed that way.

It's no surprise when it comes to the United States, the United States is a developed nation, they soon accept bitcoin and use it in their lives, America is one of the world's leading bitcoin foundations. Anyway, this is also a good thing, I hope it appears in my country.

none of these merchant services will make a bean. who would be spending bitcoin now? who would be paying a $3 bitcoin fee to buy a ticket to a movie? something fundamental will need to change for any of this to worth anyone's while. i expect the amount of places you can spend bitcoin to carry on contracting.

Recently came across an article where a corporate firm working on aircraft parking named skypark have started to accept bitcoin around the country in most of the major airports. Possibly they have stated to start the service throughout the entire airports in the country.

Perhaps in some developed countries has applied such payments. But I'm not sure in many developing countries it can be applied for now, maybe for the future.
