Hello All! Long time waves holder here and I just got my Full Node running on Friday! I'm pretty excited about the start of my journey helping decentralize the waves network. I'm just a baby node at this point but would very much like to start building a pool community. I have a simple website up and running right now. Feel free to check it out and it you like what you see Lease with us. It's Lease-Now.xyz

Also I am looking for advice on how to get the ball rolling and build up the first leasers to our pool. Any ideas?

Greetings, Lease-Now!
We are very pleased that you have joined the Waves network. We're getting bigger and that's good news.
If you have any questions, you can always contact:

In my opinion if waves already have smart contracts, then we're ready, I have read that they challenged ethereum about it

Greetings!

I can't wait for atomic swap. I think that's going to be a huge game changer and I honestly believe Waves will be the one to do it.

Are the smart contracts on mainnet yet?

The launch of smart contracts feature is supposed to come out in two stages. At first, the non-Turing complete contracts using RIDE language will implementation process of smart contracts via smart assets and smart accounts. It’ll be focussing on account handling and making Waves much more secure, flexible and powerful. In the second stage, the implementation of Turing-complete contracts using RIDEON language was completed. The activation of non-Turing complete smart contracts on the mainnet is awaited in July, and the full Turing-complete contracts - by the end of the year. Stay tuned!

I can't wait for atomic swap. I think that's going to be a huge game changer and I honestly believe Waves will be the one to do it.

Are the smart contracts on mainnet yet?

When is atomic swap planned?

Atomic swap is supposed to start its life after all the smart opportunities will be tested, audited and launched by the Q4.

Best wishes,
Waves Community manager.

I'm glad to see finally a good official thread on btt for waves, sadly that most of posts here are basically spam also
a few at the beginning, now it's ok!

for the new guys on bitcointalk here:
waves already has a Russian billionaire on board! Cool

It's a old blog post, but that doesn't matter.

I am pretty sure guys like Boris Titov, the Russian business ombudsman and billionaire politician know how to make money!
I think many people here doesn't understand the dimensions of the waves platform and many different opportunities it's designed for!

Waves naturally should have as much programmer and enthusiast user like ethereum, unfortunately, that is not the case with waves.  May be in the future waves would be able to get the share of the smart contract market.

I am extremely interested in learning more about atomic swap and when it will be added to Waves. It's going to put a lot of exchanges out of business and could definitely drive Waves price up.

Guy I don't know if you noticed but DEX volume is higher day by day. With atomicswap and erc20 tokens things can be much more bigger.

So Waves have exchange like it's Bitrexx and Binance? But this one is much more save because of seed?

So you're saying that for example Cardano is a total trash project because there are billions of tokens in circulation, doesn't make sense, besides the fact that 100M coins aren't a lot. Invest in Gbyte then, max supply is only 1 million but guess what? I don't think that they will reach the top 20 market cap anytime soon.
Market cap is what matters not the total coins' supply

Hello,

WAVES has best UI of any DEX or any centralized exchange

I think it's pretty great, too. I've rarely seen any that compare. I've heard of a new project that is only using 24 nodes and it makes me think it's not that decentralized. How many nodes does Waves have?

Does anyone know?

You can find a full nodes list at http://dev.pywaves.org/generators/ and Here https://wavesplatform.com/leasing#nodes you can find a list of the top nodes by WAVES balance.

Best wishes,

just watch, waves will stun many people in the next few months, this will be huge!

There seems to be a high level of ignorance on here - people who bought Eth, NEO etc and just parked in an exchange (They also never heard of Gox etc) - they never used these coins but come here cheerleading because they have a bag on an exchange.

I think you are right - they will be stunned.

Love seeing this tread. I have been holding my waves bag for a while and cheering for its success. I am seeing more and more icos being developed in their platform. As mentioned on few comments above not all very promising but few are, but just to see the action, the drive of projects to use Waves other than Ethereum really shows that the token is promising. It is new it is fresh and in early stages so in my opinion lots of potential. Think the adoption rate will continue to rise.

Waves looks very promising. It has interesting leasing opportunity, low fees, fast transactions and low cost of coins. Also it has built-in decentralized exchange. Hope it'll rise soon.

I think wave will develop fast and only behind BTC and ETH. In the current digital currency market, the Wave is very potential and Blockchain is the fastest in existence.

Advantages of Waves:

 - In the first place, it is worth to say that holders of Waves crypto currency have the opportunity to get a reward for maintaining the network. Only nodes with the number of tokens from 10 000 participate in mining. It is for this that the platform has the ability for every small investor to deposit their coins to another, receiving a percentage of the mining for it.

 - On the platform there is a service of outputting crypto currency into the units with a fairly loyal commission.

 - And one of the important advantages that should be mentioned is the extended functionality of the platform. For it, plugins are available, for example, for Google Chrome, which greatly optimize its work.

Disadvantages of Waves:

- Firstly, since the platform was in operation since its launch in 2016, many users noted periodic disruptions in their work, more likely comparable to bugs that are inherent in any service of this kind. However, these small nuances can take valuable time from users, and can also cause a short-term fall in the cost of coins.

I've been using Waves for years and, apart from one or two occasions in the days before NG making it the fastest blockchain in the world when there were huge airdrops, I haven't suffered any disruption on the network.

- Secondly, as well as everywhere in the world of crypto currency, it is impossible to eliminate the risks of fraud. But Waves uses the KYC system, which helps to identify each customer.

You don't need KYC to use Waves. Where did you get that from? You might need KYC to use external exchanges or gateways - this is normal practice.

- Thirdly, it is worth noting that when creating your own tokenization model, you need to clearly understand how it will comply with the laws. Some countries are not quite loyal to such activities, therefore, one should study the legal side of the issue well.

This is true of any platform.

So in your list of "Dissavantages" you couldn't even come up with a credible one.
