i don't see the possibility of it. Ether is a widely used ICO platform. it has built a huge ecosystem. Waves are a young platform. it is not really innovative. it cannot replace ether.
It is possible if there are a lot of new projects will be created under waves platform. For now ethereum is still kicking let see how waves run for the next 2 years.
ETH is still the most trusted and used platform and it is not so easy for other platforms to replace it. ETH is also improving all the time and become more stable, secure and scalable.
It's very possible that as long as the waves can continue to show a good reputation then people will definitely move there especially if ethereum continues to be in a bad trend then people will definitely go and will look for other coins as well as the developers, they will definitely look for another platform.

Am not in any way agree waves can ever compete with Ethereum, waves doesn't have what it takes to overthrone Ethereum or takes Ethereum position, Ethereum is still the best coin after Bitcoin currently.
I disagree that waves will knock out Ethereum. Nothing of such looks like happening. For a long time, they have been far away apart and can't be compared. A coin that I see giving Ethereum a run is litecoin. I believe it's currently undervalued and will move up in no time but definitely not waves.
Waves have very small chances to compete with Ethereum. In winter, the waves showed good growth, but I think that they were too overvalued and they would not be able to repeat the growth that was in winter.
Anytime I read some funny post like this, it makes me laugh, why in the world do some people feel they can justify this, Ethereum is miles ahead of Waves, Waves is just a project that happen to enter the market at the right time, collected 33000BTC from investors and promise to develop Decentralised exchange, now trying to do what Ethereum is doing is a big joke IMO
Not anymore. Waves got its potential not knocking down ethereum right now , eth maintains the top2 on cmc and with the recent bull run i don't think waves got the chance to knock eth down. The rise of eth now will make more investors buy more eth.
I think this will not happen and Ethereum will value at any time way more that waves and people can choose what coins they want and some can bring profit or not over time.

My dear, I just wondered at the post, but opinions differ anyway. One thing am certain is, waves still has a long way to go if it wants to compete with ethereum.

I don't think so. They both are platform based token. And both of them have high market cap. But among all platform based token ethereum is the most popular and used platform at this moment and it's hard for any other platform to take over. Waves has one of the best idea among the platform ecosystem in waves anyone can create a chain in waves. And there is many features in wave platform not only wave in almost every other platform there are many features which is essential but ethereum doesn't have that. Still ethereum is the best platform available.
Even waves is having leasing in their wallet I bought some waves around 2 years back by believing it will be the next big smart contract platform . Till now nothing is happened. I bought in the price range of 3$ still it’s revolving around that.
At the bearish market, the waves steadily hold their position, and when price of Bitcoin is falling , the price of Waves is rising! The functionality of the Waves is much higher than Eth. Usability is better, fast transactions, own stock exchange, powerful mobile applications for Android and iOS. And there will be a lot of interesting features. This is the time to buy waves.

I am very happy to see such a consistent development of the Waves. They really study and solve the problems of Ethereum. Therefore, now Waves provide important benefits, including excellent performance. But in the near future Ethereum will definitely remain the leader thanks to its platform, security and community.
You might have create the new thread and share your experience on waves. Instead unwantedly you bump this thread here. This was created year but you digged this now.

Although Ethernet may not grow too much in the future, Ethereum is the basis for creating the myth of the 2017 cryptocurrency market. Ethereum will not be easily overtaken by other coins. Other coins cannot go beyond Ethereum. It is impossible to achieve at least until 2020.
