It is a new codebase, not just a Bitcoin clone and they wrote that the code was released today, so the exchanges needs time to audit it. Would be bad if some malicious code runs on an exchange system and tries to steal coins. On slack @announcements Sasha wrote "Working with several exchanges, there's a little integration to be done, so it'll take a couple days.".

I guess it will need at least a week. The code is written in Scala, they might even have to hire good Scala programmers to audit the code. Looks like this is it: https://github.com/wavesplatform/Waves There were even today 3 commits, two from the cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin

Lets keep it with the facts:

1. Bittrex or any other exchange needs at least 3 to 4 hours to analyse the code to make sure that everything is clean. If Bittrex received the code then it should be listed within 3 or 4 hours.

2. We all know that it will move higher a lot and a lot of people just want to know how high, that is why some of them are complaining

3. There are always some people that like to spread some FUD, why? because they don't have anything else to do

4. Waves will hit exchanges and every person will decide himself when to dump and when to buy back, as some people will take profit and will hope to buyback some coins cheaper.

Please realize that (some, at least the most serious) exchanges run their own security audits before actually integrating new markets.
This means that most exchanges will check the code for viruses, malware, etc. as they should. Therefore is a bit difficult to predict with accuracy when exactly the exchanges will start adding WAVES.

Furthermore, the exchanges themselves will be announcing the WAVES market inclusion, it does not correspond to us doing so, therefore continuosly asking in Bitcointalk or Slack will not make the process any faster.

It was never said by the team that trading starts today. Today was always the day that the full node code will be shared with exchanges so they can integrate it into their systems, which TAKES A BIT OF TIME and that is not the fault of the devs!
