Personally I must say that I have not seen any possible means whereby Waves will get to Ethereum much more of replacing it, Ethereum remain the best Altcoin in the crypto space.
See condition of both coin right now, maybe Waves still can't beat Ethereum from any aspect. Maybe that is why people keep said that Ethereum still best if compared with Waves. Maybe we need to look other coin like Lumens to compared with ETH in next.

Waves is not even in the top twenty in the market, this is the best parameter on a coin achievement, so this topic is pretty useless and it did not justify the title of the topic, they should first climb to the top 5 then we can discuss if they are going to replace Ethereum
If the market comeback to where it used to be wealthy then i may say Waves may has it chance but now it is impossible for Waves to compete with ETH, ETH is becoming strong in this downtrend market and having more advance improvements now that not any altcoins can be able to be compared with ETH.

The competitions still alive but ETH already gained a much higher supports, if waves wants to catch up they needed to have more progressive updatesand more advertisement for people who are knew from this industry will be able to learned about this existing project, especially now where competitions

Waves are not enough to replace Ethereum. Ethereum's achievements are very high and these coins are now becoming popular after Bitcoin. There are still many ICO companies that use the Ethereum platform, so this coin has a good future. Waves are very good coins and the growth is pretty good, but it takes a long time to become like Ethereum.

I doubt that waves can replace ethereum, it may increase its price value like what happened way back 2017 but not surpassing the value of ethereum. Besides, Ethereum so far was still much more useful than Waves platforms in terms of there is a new ico project will rise in this fioeld of business.
Ethereum can't be overtake but xrp can. Because it has a huge volume in the past day that we see. Was can't replace it in as short day only maybe in the future i will.
I don't think that's true. ETH has increased and decreased during the last time, what about XRP? It almost became a stable coin. And probably will not be able to increase.

Looking at the market now, I can see a lot of potential coins which are new that can be big in the long run, maybe at the standing of waves now, it will be replace by a new coins in the market but waves will be difficult to dethrone ETH as the king of alts.

waves can't beat ethereum, ethereum has a strong position in the market, the team inside is always developing so that ethereum continues to be the best altcoin, the ethereum community is so large that it is difficult for waves to replace ethereum, if waves want to replace ethereum hence there needs to be improvement in the development of waves in order to attract investors

I think waves have potential in the future, but for now it's not the time for the next wave to be ethereum, ethereum is the second best altcoin after bitcoin and until now there are still many who believe in the potential that ethereum has.
There have been lots of predictions about different coins which will surpass Ethereum but it seems none of these coins have achieved this goal. XRP surpassed Ethereum once but Ethereum resumed its position some few weeks later. Although Waves has got good concept and strong team, it cannot surpass Ethereum because Ethereum has got stronger team with innovative concept especially with its smart contract which makes new projects prefer to use the Ethereum Blockchain to create their cryptocurrencies.
This is what I feared later.

For a long time I believed in Waves but then I began to understand that this cryptocurrency is a very long time in a state of suspended animation. They can raise their price but then drop to their standard level. I don't like it in the Waves.
I think that the Waves will not be able to replace the Ethereum, if we talk about the most likely candidate to replace the Ethereum, it is the EOS, but the Waves are still quite far from it.
Though the technology behind the waves token is great, I see it struggling greatly against Ethereum and may find it very difficult to receive massive penetration as Ethereum has enjoyed in its history. Also, the appeal and use case of Ethereum makes it one of the most sort after cryptocurrency leading to massive volumes and tradability. Waves hasn't got such appeal.
Cardano is the best replacement for ether, I speak as a programmer.
