Waves had 4 years to make this. But they was not so popular even on 2017 bullrun. There are a lot of more technical projects which are better than Waves nowdays.

Every Altcoin has the opportunity to supersede Ethereum as long as they have also a feasible plarform that will attract more people to invest. Right now Waves has the same platform with the Ethereum but unfortunately most of the crypro users are still preferred to use the Ethereum platform to support their projects making it to become more impossible to be replaced.

Ethereum have more bigger community on other hand Waves is still into struggling position so that it is really hard task for this project to get attention like the pioneer project. I am very confident there is no chance for Waves to get jump even into top 10 markets too.

Eight months has past since the OP said Waves will replace Ethereum. So how will it overtake ETH? What happened in the last 8 months?  I think the population of developers actively building on top of Waves is the indicator. Is it increasing or just stagnant? Number of ETH developers continues to grow.

I think waves will never be able to replace ETH, because the development of Waves is very slow and waves are less desirable in the field of smart contracts more people choose ETH than waves
I am convinced that it is necessary to take into account the fact that there are still quite a lot of strong Altcoin before the Wave that could compete for ETH and the Waves have to overcome a lot of obstacles to qualify for a direct competitor to Ethereum, not to mention leadership among all altcoins.

Waves can't replace Ethereum ever. The Waves platform, community, and volume of trading are all a lot smaller than Ethereum, and the actual price of Waves is around 1$ or a bit higher, not even comparable to Ethereum price.
The team behind Waves is experienced and active, but they have to work more to make this coin more popular again.
in the past, the waves did have a 100% increase in price, and it was rumored that they could compete fiercely, even replace Ethereum. we see today, the development of crypto, especially altcoin declined quite far. in fact, waves coin need to rethink strategy for surviving from this situation. but, on the other hand, many people are so optimistic about the development of ETH 2.0 which is rumored to be released in 2020. This proves that the developments that are happening now, make ethereum farther away from the waves.

waves are a pretty good coin to date, but I think it's still very difficult for waves to replace ethereum.

It doesn't give a huge impact or change the image of waves platform as a platform with hundreds of the scam coins. Coinbase doesn't know about what was happening with the waves platform.
but i thought that more project will be listed after those coins. Some new tokens were listed instantly.
But waves will never replace ether.

know that waves and ethereum are both platforms that were once needed at ico, but the journey of the two platforms is not good right now. where ethereum can be one of the best platforms while waves are still on a journey that has no increase, so I think waves still have a lot of processes to be able to replace ethereum

its still long time for waves replace ethereum, they need improve the platform
waves won't be able to do it. ethereum is too strong to be replaced by waves. and now there are BEP-2 competitors who have a lot of new project interests. waves are slightly left behind and have no interest in using their network.

Since this topic is made until now I do not see a good movement for waves and as I've said that I'm not sure if waves will be the next version of Ethereum. It's very hard to see their platform
It’s been discussed before and until now ethereum is better than waves. Yes no movement for waves and more users still believe on the future of ethereum. So until now waves cannot replace ethereum.
for now, the development of the two coins is quite slow. although ETH is still above waves, waves certainly still have the potential to replace ETH. if the development of waves today is faster than ETH, I believe waves have the opportunity to be equal to ETH. it's just that, I see that the development of ETH is a little faster than the waves for now.

One thing that is lacking from Waves is they are less able to promote what they have done so far. this year they made some innovations related to their project, although it will not have a significant effect, I hope this will boost investor interest.

Years ago, I thought so and I had hold a lot of waves because of some profit. But it totally disappointed me and still you can see the price of waves is remain same as before. A lot of good news had come in wavesplatform but there is no changed at all. Well if teamw ork hard, then maybe it will be possible

Nah, this ain't it at all. Sorry to say but with the current situation of things in waves platform, no way is waves going to replace eth. Fundamentally, eth still stays far stronger than waves.
