You sound sad that your shitcoin isn't mooning and want to hype people on crypto.... bitcoin sells itself.

People come to bitcoin and a few altcoins as they need them. Trying to market crypto just makes it look and sound like a scam.

Correct me if I am wrong but are you not in a way marketing bitcoin with that username?

I am all for not marketing bitcoin. I do agree that it is rather better to not be marketed. But maybe a trial method might help sort this out. I mean it would provide evidence.

Plus countries aren't exactly against cryptocurrencies they are just banning it for the purchase of goods or services. Trading in them is still legal. This means that even the government has realized the potential bitcoin holds but it still needs to safeguard the interests of the public.

Get Maximalist or Get Wrecked
It isn't hard to explain to people interested in crypto what bitcoin is and what a mess altcoins can be for newbies in this space.

Until the altcoin scammers go broke, we just have to tell people about the value their is in bitcoin and let the graph speak for itself over time.

Until the ICO's, that can't get venture capital funding (because their projects suck and won't make money), we have to just hodl and store value in bitcoin.

The longer the scammers try and market shitcoins and stupid ideas, the longer adoption of bitcoin and the few valuable altcoins will take.

I feel that you really want that badly, btw where are you from? with those countries that you mentioned, are living on one of it? Making these countries crypto-friendly isn't that easy as you think. Even the strongest marketers won't make it happen because all the decision depends on the government.

Everyone wants to contribute for each country to be crypto friendly but it requires a lot of things before it'll happen.

I agree. Legitimacy depends on the government therefore this is very difficult to predict today  because we can see how the government reacts to the current situation. Everyone who is crypto enthusiasts wanted  universal acceptance but then we need to do something too, aside from spreading nonsense thoughts.

I feel sad that crypto is not accepted as a payment in many countries like India ,China ,Thailand and many other.
China lifted the ban recently right?

I think the best way to get out of this is we crypto enthusiasts becoming marketers and reaching out to the appropriate persons such as marketing heads of all the places where we are expecting the crypto payment to be accepted through all the social media platforms like Linked In,Facebook,Instagram, because Social Media has the power of making and breaking something.
Are you suggesting that we hire people such as marketing heads to advertise bitcoin? Who would be willing to pay that? I have no problem if you will do it voluntarily but I would never do that. Start up projects are the ones who needed paid advertising and not Bitcoin.

We will reach that moment few years from now. With the volatility of crypto values its not safe to incorporate it with small businesses. As soon as the crypto market matures and its values will be stable then that's the time most of the businesses specially small companies will fully adopt with blockchain.

As of this moment, people only deemed crypto as an investment vehicle not as a currency or mode of payment.

People come to bitcoin and a few altcoins as they need them. Trying to market crypto just makes it look and sound like a scam.

I strongly disagree with this statement. First of all, Bitcoin is not a shitcoin and people saying this is ignorant. Secondly, Bitcoin must be marketed to people like game developers and financial institutions to give them an alternative payment option. Do you think for one moment that payment methods like PayPal and VISA and Mastercard would stop marketing their product in a competitive environment like this?

If marketing is a indicator of scams, then no advertisements would have been used on social media or any other platform for that matter.  Roll Eyes

Paypal, VISA,... are centralized companies that have an advertising team that does the marketing for them. bitcoin is decentralized and has no such thing and nobody is going to do it for you.
and i agree with BuyBuyBitcoin, bitcoin sells itself it really doesn't need any kind of marketing. we have a unique payment system that if people want to use it, they will and if they don't then no amount of advertising is going to change that. as it is evident with altcoins that kill themselves with advertising and then fail because nobody wants them.

You cannot really impose it on individuals/nations to invest in cryptocurrency, and the bitcoin is more than popular in more countries of the world this days, and it actually doesn't need any marketing strategies or unnecessary publicity,it will only make it look like a failed currency, which it's not

Everyone wants to contribute for each country to be crypto friendly but it requires a lot of things before it'll happen.
For example, I live in Ukraine. And it seems to me that for Ukraine it is much harder to implement. Although in my country many people already use cryptocurrency and they like it
Okay for example, Ukraine isn't the only country that has a lot of crypto supporters but the government doesn't say any single word about their stand to it, if they are good and will support it or not but as long as there is no word found from them and remained neutral, crypto folks can proceed with their trades.

The government will notice it if there's a big community found on their jurisdiction for crypto's and after studying if its reliable then all of those things that you want to happen for the sake of crypto, will happen a little by little.

Accepting Bitcoin or alts in those countries you made mention has nothing to do with Bitcoin or cryptocurrency growth , and for you to know that cryptocurrency is accepted all over the world and if it is not you won't buy from someone who you don't even know or see on exchange , so we can't correlate India and China as a must to accept cryptocurrency before we believe that people are not using it.

The benefit of bitcoin and other crypto is that you don't need permission from anyone, you can just accept it as a form of payment. Those countries haven't banned it, just not recognised it officially

The power to accept bitcoin is not in the business owners as you mentioned, but in the politicians. And the politicians are not willing to easily give away the control of the power of purchase. It is a gradual thing.
Be sure that those people have got the message, are willing to accept bitcoin but are waiting for the right government pronouncements which is in the hands of politicians.

Marketing of criptos to people who have power on traditional markets individually may cause some side effects and it may cause to be seen bitcoin as repulsive instead of attractive. If something has to be done, it must be done professionally.

There is trouble abrewing
we can start by making things easy for the users so that adoption takes place smoother. for example when a merchant wants to accept bitcoin payments if there is a simple user friendly program to install and be able to start accepting bitcoin then it is going to be a lot easier for him compared to if there were only one wallet not capable of doing that for him and if he was forced to pay a programmer to set it up for him!

To see Bitcoin and others as generally acceptable, we must first resolve some issues. First, energy consumption is unacceptable. Secondly, we need to improve processing speeds. I think we can't go on with POW anymore.

Social media has the power of... what? Sure, marketing has its merits, it always has, especially in commerce and especially with something that requires consumers like crypto.

But you should take a page out of the Bitcoin story. Organic growth that lasts long beyond the hype. Interested users and contributive communities of volunteers that not only are attracted by the potential of X coin and Y coin, but who also believe in the promise of Bitcoin. You need users as much as advocates, people willing and desiring to contribute as much as they use it. Bitcoin achieved this with little or no marketing (anything remotely marketing related is often for a service or product rather than for Bitcoin itself). And that's the staying power you're seeing today.

I totally agree with your statements because social media is like a very huge influence platforms that could gain people interest in why they should be using Bitcoin.

Perhaps you are right. But for the time being it is hard for me to believe that ordinary users of cryptocurrency will be able to change this. I think that until the government decides to take this step, nothing will change.
