"to endure to achieve"
The thinking and idea with bitcoin was good - it has just lost tracking, due to the fact that no one made it easy to use. Everyone sat back and watched in the belief that evolution would happen without further input.
2nd and even 3rd generation virtual currencies with much bigger visions will soon pop up - and if bitcoin is not developing as well it's going to miss the train.

Poorer than I ought to be

But I have lost. I have lost precious time reading about it and hearing people cry about one damn crisis after another. I have lost time reading and learning about it and wasting five seconds of faith that it was going anywhere by wrongly dignifying it with legitimate attention. I've wasted countless minutes and calories learning about some faggot nerd shit only to ultimately conclude the whole thing is some autistic online game played by losers who think clever little software exchanges represent wealth.

Hell, I'm wasting time on it right now. It's a fucking black hole that's all about discussions and talk and no god damn actual business.

Ok - so you think btc is a giant waste of time and worthless.  You're annoyed at the time you've currently wasted on this 'worthless techy project.'  My sincere advice - and note I'm not angry with you at all - please just go away and live your own life.  You will be happier and so will we for not having to waste our own 5 seconds reading your drivel.

Sincerely - every bitcoiner

BTC is a religion, so so. It is based on mathematics.

FIAT MONEY is based on faith. In god we trust, in leaders we trust, in banks and government IOU's we trust.

It's too volatile to be a legitmate currency.

The people behind bitcoin needs to tie it's value to the dollar if they ever want it to take off. One coin gets you one dollar, simple.

That was your first (non chinese) post, back in 2013. Most of your other posts are rants against BTC at least to some extent.

Tie it to the dollar? Seriously... what are you doing here anyway?

Also, "the people behind bitcoin"... common, read the definition of decentralized.

They believe the fundamentals are still there.  As do I.
+1 That's where I am. I don't soil my pants every time someone posts nonsense they pulled from their arse. But if I thought bitcoin were broken, I would bail in a heartbeat. I'm not the religious type.

There are lunatics on both sides of the fence.

On the Bitcoin side, they're all pretty much congested in this forum so it seems like there's a lot of them.

FIAT money is also based on fear, and debt to masters you can't see or communicate with.

Our fiat monetary system is very much based on not asking questions about it, and just following it blindly.

Our fiat monetary system has ordained that most people live their entire life in debt to another entity, from birth, because 'that's just the way it works'.

Actually sounds more and more like a religion the more I think about it.

Lol jk, its because bitcoin is so revolutionary. That is why there are so many supporters.  Even if it was worth $1 per coin it still has and will continue to change the way money is used worldwide.

Maybe someday, but we are talking about 'someday'. It's always talk and talk about the future because in the here and now, this shit is hardly ready for prime-time.

And since I have no interest in becoming a techie to appreciate and innovate gadget ideas like btc because I don't have to, I have no use for it. I can use a smartphone without knowing how to build one. That's why smartphones are a success and btc is still a steaming pile of shit.

Don't try to sell me a betamax and tell me it's Blu-Ray, and then complain because I don't wanna share an hour discussion about future possibilities or 'appreciate' the technology.

"Ease of use" defines currency. Defines it. Without ease of use, you got a bag of shit and have the fucking nerve to resent people who dont want to pay actual money for the worthless monopoly money you're shilling for.

So what you are saying is that any new technology needs to be perfect on its initial release, or it shouldn't be released at all?   Look at everything that has ever been invented...there are always bugs in every single technological invention.  Look how far the internet has come since it's inception.   You talk about smart phones, but based on your argument, they should have never been created and could have never been created, because the original phone had wires with it.  I guarantee you still have some issues with some of the features of your smartphone...does that mean it's a steaming bag of shit (as you call it)?   Ease of use comes from it's actual use, then then feedback about what works and what doesn't.

Let me take a guess. You're either younger than 30 or 60+. Or maybe its just that you're not a techie as you say, or you would remember the first time the public got access to email and internet and learn from that.

I'll tell you, man. Assuming you were lucky enough to have an ISP in your vicinity, you then had to fight all the other users dialing in
and trying to connect. Sometimes it took hours to get connected. Finally you get online and now you've got to hurry up because you're paying by the minute for your connection, which is really a phone call. So you check your email and there's nothing because who on earth is using email but a bunch of geeks?

Screw email. You decide to search for some porn, only you can't see it in your browser because it's a text-only browser, so you start downloading a few pics for later viewing. They're taking ages. You're slowly racking up a phone bill. Hopefully they'll be worth it. Then... DOWNLOAD FAILED. Your wife/mom must have picked up the other phone. Fuck this Internet shit! It will never catch on.

That's how it all started. I hope you're doing great with your envelopes, stamps and wrinkled Playboy magazines. Peace.

This analogy is fantastic and funny. Good job sir.

In good faith I'm going to assume you're not trolling. I'm not an early adopter. I knew about bitcoin when it was around $11 a BTC but never bought. I simply educated myself on the technology and read about it. I messed with mining just for fun and made a little BTC worth pretty much nothing back then. I took a break from bitcoin as I had other more important things to focus on. When I learned that the price had gone to $50 i started taking it a lot more seriously. Still not knowing much about it I got into more serious mining with my graphics card and left my computer on day and night. My point is, not everyone here is a rich arrogant prick who bought early and made massive amounts of money. I'm a huge supporter of bitcoin and i'm not an early adopter. I understand the volatility that is occurring right now and I know what is causing it. I still have faith in the protocol and the system itself. Blaming the actions of a business that happens to deal with bitcoin on bitcoin isn't fair. There are a few people out there on their bitcoin high horse telling the "noobs" to f off. If you're mad because of one of them, don't be. Bitcoin isn't easy to understand I personally think that's one of it's biggest flaws. (That and it's completely misleading name). If you think it's dumb, that's fine I don't care and won't take offense. But don't spread FUD about something you don't understand completely. That is when I will call you out.

OP has unresolved issues...

It's not a religion; it's excitement. People who support Bitcoin so fervently just grasp the concept better than you do. If you understood the gravity of the accomplishment and the brilliant potential; you'd be excited about it too.

You don't understand Bitcoin because you don't understand the reason for its invention. You can't grasp an answer for which you don't even understand the question...

Contrary to what you think we believe; We'd rather you not invest in it at all until you can understand why it's important.
Of course I have issues with bitcoin supporters.

Consider: I am pissed that I wasted time on learning about it though I lost no money. You people are pissed because I dare criticize something you claim is valuable. Add that up...

Get it through your fucking head - people aren't interested in shit for its own sake. It has to have value. If people can do fine without something, they will. Most people have no interest in taking on technological skill sets just so some techie can feel useful for finding a longer more convoluted way to do something no one needs.

That's the whole fucking point of product development, and btc currently sucks. There's no ground floor to get in on because it remains riddled with incompetence, perhaps even in concept. So lets discuss that for 20 years on bitcointalk, because that's the visible future of it.

You're pissed because you learned something and not because you lost something? You sound wise...

We're not upset about your opinion; we've heard it before. It's the equivalent of a child throwing a temper tantrum because they don't understand how to finish their math homework...

People did fine without the internet, they did fine without books, they did fine without banks, money, or governments; yet here we are... People adopt ideas that benefit them in various ways. Your point is so far off base from reality that you should probably explain yourself as to how you can possibly think that's the way it is...

There are 4 things that have real value, food, water, shelter, and life. Everything else is artificially evaluated and given some form of worth. Bitcoin has extrinsic value based on utility, security, and ideology.

I make money elsewhere and don't need this crap.

But you're damn right I'm mad. For one, I'm not some greedy fuck who thinks money I didn't make is somehow a loss. Two, I didn't actually lose any cash because I never trusted the shit enough to go near it.

But I have lost. I have lost precious time reading about it and hearing people cry about one damn crisis after another. And then there's always that guy. If you point out any criticism of BTC, some shill jumps in with "it used to be worth nothing and u mad it went to $1k lololololol!"

Just because some poor sap will pay $1k for a bag of shit doesn't make my toilet a gold mine and flushing does not constitute a fortune lost, you daft fucks.

Bitcoin shills are like goldbugs on crack. Its all about being viewed as 'right' no matter how shitty the evidence is. That's what they love more than profit. Its some sort of autistic cult. You can't convince them the hole thing is a waste. Bunk. The currency' of hubris colliding with ignorance. They should have called it BabelCoin.

BTC goes up "I have something people pay for! I'm a genius!"
BTC plummets "It will be worth a fortune any day now"

I cant tell if they are crazy or retarded.

i'm very content to waste your time on it some more... please... get these things off your chest, i'm sure you will feel better.  Wink

Bitcoin shills do two things consistently: talk about the past and talk about the future. In the middle is reality and nothing pisses them off more than suffering the observations by the sane while it is occurring.
send value anywhere in the world

This is where you are wrong. Bitcoin has no value. It's worth nothing.

The market disagrees with you. By all means, continue to ignore it so your delusion remains intact.

Tell you what, why don't you go to the store and try to buy next week's groceries with bitcoin. Let us know how well that works out.

Suckered in?  I mine dumb ass.  I never dropped one cent into mining except for 2 video cards I use to game with my friends anyways.

So tell me,  how did  I get burned?

Wonder how much of that monopoly money is real  Roll Eyes

Why don't you try to cash out and tell us? Somehow I don't think you're gonna get your money kiddo. I'm sorry you're so easily tricked.

I cash out every other week (or when my mining round finishes) this week I cashed out £177. I'm off to whitby for the weekend to spend it*.

*it = money transacted and cashed out to a bank using bitcoin as the initial fund.

And I have Keira Knightley lying in my bed. See? I can pull bullshit out of my ass too.

compare that time learning bitcoin, to how many years you spent learning at school.. which took longer?
