You see, people who are making their own cryptos are usually not the fans of Bitcoin and other major currencies. They can see how Blockchain can be profitable and want to utilize it for their businesses, but they also want to stay in control. Facebook banned crypto ads before announcing their own project, let's not forget that. At the same time, Jack has been an admirer of Bitcoin and things related to it (for instance, he tested the LN if I remember correctly). So if he wants to adopt some crypto, I don't think he'll make a token, I think he'll use Bitcoin.

If that will be the case, then it would be good for Bitcoin but I think Jack Dorsey and Twitter executives would find an ingenious

way to better monetize their platform instead of adopting Bitcoin  yet I admit that it could also be a possibility and if this happens,

then the crypto-community would surely rejoice if they would integrate Bitcoin into Twitter. Imho.
I think because of many of us lack the knowledge of blockchain technology in adeptly including me is why we think that a company has to create its own cryptocurrency, one thing we need to know is that twitter is already a big company and they have money already, if they will want to get involved in blockchain technology, they are only doing so to better their system not because they just want to start making money for them to develop the project.

There is nothing wrong in them using a single currency that is assumed to be global and independent, it is not like every other cryptocurrency that has its ownership, but it is more like an independent coin that does not belong to anyone, so if they are building bitcoin, they are also doing so too for themselves.

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.
Jack Dorsey did a nice thing to get attraction from more people for Bitcoin. On the other hand, I wonder whether we can see a Twitter Coin or something like that in the future. Who knows, maybe Twitter can enter this market too. Smiley
I see jack as bitcoin maximalist, so never had an idea if he will open and create that kind of token/coin for his platform. But for what reasons anyway?

Nothing lasts forever
Just read a article on cointelegraph about Jack Dorsey founder of a popular social media "Twitter". He said "We love you Bitcoin".

I think this is really positive things for worldwide crypto-currency users. Most likely it would little effect on current bitcoin trend (although price start up trend before that news).

What is your opinion about that article ?
Like seriously ? The last time I heard about Jack Dorsey commenting on bitcoin was that bitcoin can never be used as a currency since it is so volatile.
And now he is suddenly loving bitcoin ? I think people are just trying to spread FUD in the market. Manipulation has gone way too far these days.

It somehow does have a bit effect but the little pump is usually occuring even without Jack Dorsey's optimistic statement about Bitcoin. He has a positive side towards bitcoin because he can see how potential bitcoin as an investment and the adoption is also growing.
However, he already cleared that he will not create another "Twitter coin" like Facebook Libra coin.

This is what this website said;

Quote
Jack Dorsey made it very clear in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald that he has no plans to launch a Twitter cryptocurrency, instead preferring to advocate for Bitcoin as the currency of the internet.

He just admired how this decentralized system works without controlled by any organizations.

Hating on btc does not make any sense to begin with, btc is a technology that gives opportunity to all irrespective of your status in the society, I guess this is the reason why the so-called influential people don't like it because it is out of their control, even the mass can benefit from it, and that is a no-no for the high and mighty, if you can't beat them they say you join them  Cool

What makes the value of bitcoin increase is always what we expect, especially for those who invest in them. It would be great if we had such good news tomorrow.

I will not be surprised if one of these days Twitter - as one of the biggest social media platform, might want to leverage its enormous user base,  will

be announcing a new Libra like crypto on their platform since they have the capacity to do it but I guess they will have a "wait and see" attitude

first and observe what will happen after plans for Facebook's Libra got stalled.  Smiley

It won't be a surprise if they are already cooking something behind the curtain. Since libra is already out, they might be only looking for the right timing to introduce theirs. They have large userbase so adoption might come in handy from their end. Maybe the tweet of their founder is a hint that they are into something already. At least they have the funds to start their own coin as compared to crap projects that wanted to rip off naive users.

Omicron is another FUD
Every big influencer for crypto is always good. Articles like this can be used for pump. Or it may help with mass adoption
the sentence issued by every big influencer about cryptocurrencies I think the goal is mass adoption.

Fuck Twitter, quite frankly. It's against the crypto ethos: don't trust, verify. There's no way of verifying how Twitter controls it's platform, and there's a strong indication that they do just that.

So @Jack Dorsey, @Twitter: We love Mastodon (unmanipulated, decentralised public chat)
I love Mastodon.. I am also a Mastodon user too (a free and open-source self-hosted social networking service)  Grin

Last year we expect Twitter and Facebook will ban the Crypto currency for the reason that it has full of scam projects but until now the banning did not happen and just read about Jack is now supporting the Bitcoin like JP Morgan is a critics before but now he is supporting it and Facebook has now Libra coin. Hopefully, Bill Gates and Warren Buffet will change their mind too.

Facebook and Twitter actually did ban crypto ads, and rightfully so, because they were used for ICO's, which are scams, and phishing. This doesn't mean that they have banned any discussion of cryptocurrency on their platforms.

And it shouldn't be strange, because Bitcoin and crypto aren't the same thing, one can easily support Bitcoin and oppose "crypto" aka altcoins/shitcoins. So don't use this as an example of someone changing their mind, Buffet is not going to change his minds.

CLEAN non GPL infringing code made in Rust lang
Is that mean he won't make a twitter coin such as Mark created libra coin?LOL

I use twitter in a whole my life since I know cryptocurrency to get more information. Some people such as Jhon McAfee, CZ Binance, Vitalik Butterin and many more made by me as a reference to know more about them.

Agree, we need more a people like him, a person who has popularity and promote bitcoin to make many people aware about it. I have tried a couple of times to convince some of my friend to attract them into bitcoin but I always failed.

This article will give a good effect for those people who still have a doubt to start investing in bitcoin IMO.

That would be very wise of him, rather than re-invent the wheel and come out with a triangle...

In fact more companies should be looking at ways to adopt Bitcoin instead of making more garbage tokens nobody but themselves want.

I don't think you should include some of those names, certainly not McAfee... Better take a look to the likes of Andreas Antonopoulos instead.

It depend on their level of pride, the difference between gates/buffet and Facebook is that we only heard of their opposition to crypto through the ban of promotion, so their action was what spoke the word to us which they can easily change, but for gates and buffet, those one openly castigated cryptocurrency and they said so many bad things about it in the public.

It might be a little bit difficult for them to change their mind about bitcoin, but do we really need them, everything they have said about crypto has not really changed anything and it has not made people who believed in bitcoin to stop believing in it. We have other very big supporters of bitcoin and I think that is what is most important, there is going to be a balance between both supporters and those who doesn’t.

It is nice to see him say that he loves BITCOIN but he also says BITCOIN is 'Not Functional as a Currency"

https://cointelegraph.com/news/square-ceo-jack-dorsey-says-bitcoin-is-not-functional-as-currency-yet

"It's not functional as a currency. The peaks and troughs are like an investment asset and are equivalent to gold. What we need to do is make it more usable and accessible as a currency, but it's not there yet."

He probably should have put the emphasis on Bitcoin not being functional as currency for the mass, but it's perfectly usable as currency on a smaller scale, which we here on this forum have proven for years now. It works.

What I like about Jack is that he is putting money into development of LN, which isn't something you see wealthy Bitcoiners do. What has Barry Silbert done for Bitcoin in that regard? I don't recall him financing development at all.

Jack allocating money to LN development means that he is serious about getting Bitcoin to reach that mass currency stage. I really wish more wealthy Bitcoiners did that instead of just waiting for the pride to go up.
