I think that it will be popular for a very long time, as this technology is just beginning to slowly take many minds of mankind. As for the replacement of Fiat money, I think everything is possible here, too, since the whole world has long been moving to electronic money, and the blockchain will serve as a stage of a new stage in development.
It is hard to make people switch to cryptocurrency, here I see crypto is having two problems that need to be resolved. In this new era digital economy has become a stage of development of money, and i believe that encryption market will increase in near future. Today crypto is used in some countries, but that time is not far when crypto will be used in all the countries as mode of payment and will become a good substitude of other mode of payments.
I think that in the future, crypto-currencies can be used by all countries, but up to this point we have a long and thorny path. But still I believe that we will all come this way together.
I do not think crypto will be able to substitute for fiat because they are two different things and has different use but in future, crypto will also be stable and will also be accepted as means of exchange for goods and services in different countries, stores and companies. I trust in the system because I believe it is a very good way to make profit on investment but you need to be very careful and patient when making decisions of projects/coin to invest in.

I think this will be popular in a very long time. because crypto already has a very large community and several projects have helped solve everyday problems. but I cannot say that crypto will replace fiat currency because fiat is so simple to use and does not require sophisticated tools and does not require internet support as well. 
As a matter of fact, I look for after headway, and possibly later on, advancement into something comprehensive, which will absolutely supplant the standard money. The cryptographic cash world is still in the advancement mastermind. Additionally, it will be a long time before the overall public appreciate that there is a future for computerized cash and new advances.

Crypto are starting to use for payment, but this is happen for some countries only well I am hoping that someday that the time comes many countries will accept crypto and don't banned it.
