Crytocurrencies as a mode of payment for buying/selling of goods/assets and for services performed, are still almost negligible in India. Mostly the awarded masses are just using it as a mode of investment. It is mostly seen as an asset to either trade or accumulate in anticipation of phenomenonal rise in the market price of the currency.

Masses at large are still not aware of the concept, even in city like Mumbai.
Govt's stand regarding the concept is still not clear. Maybe that's discouraging people to accept the concept as fair and legal.

I would agree with what you say. The question to be addressed is 'WHY'.
Technology has not penetrated alot of India, which might be the reason. Even though it is very convenient to use bitcoins but it is still not that easy to acquire them. One needs to understand at least few basic things and apart from that why would any common person would buy them knowing that you can't buy groceries with it.

Even though there is a market for this cryptocurrency in India, the amount of people, the value for the stakeholders isn't high enough and by value i am not talking about the price.

Any indian startups working with bitcoin technology ??  Roll Eyes

That question i would say is rather vague the reason being bitcoin is a cryptocurrency just like other currencies u can accept or send it against goods, etc. So just implementing that as a payment method is one thing.

another thing is there are bitcoin startups like zebpay where u can exchange bitcoins for local currency.

If u talk about technology then you should look into the blockchain technology which is quite interesting.

I am not living in india from past few months and havent been following the current state maybe if someone can shine some light whether any startup is using this technology which is not just exchange like zebpay that would be great.

we all Indians are really proud for this sub forum.
we need more activities in our sub forum.I know many people are active bitcointalk most of them are busy on main thread.
scammers are everywhere check before buying or selling BItcoins.

Cheesy i am glad its helpful though its just scratching the surface for newbies.

There are threads for newbies in the beginner section, so will it be better to make a new one here?
Okay IF i make a thread in indian sub forums for all the newcomers i would love if all the senior members can contribute whatever they know.
and maybe someone can translate it in hindi ( i can but i dont have too much time right now )

I am proud to say that I am from India and I am part of this forum and bitcoins both.
I would like to help you, in case you need anything translated to Hindi, please send me a PM and I will see what can be done.

Hi,

I'm from India and a newbie in the world of bitcoin.

Few questions:

Can anyone guide me how can I earn bitcoins?
For bitcoin mining is there any cloud mining platform I can use to understand the process?
Important areas I should keep in mind.

Thanks in advance.

Hi zikkybc,

Welcome to the bitcoin world mate.
Okay i am going to briefly answer your questions and i hope u don't get too disappointed, well to be honest its a matter of perspective.

First of all, like any other currency bitcoins can be bought by exchanging via fiat, but you might already know this.

There are a number of way to earn bitcoins,
i would suggest in order to understand the wallet and how the transactions work
start small i.e. claim bitcoins ( satoshis = like paise if u think bitcoin as Rs. ) from Faucets [ faucets a websites where they give u very small amounts of bitcoins for visiting]

Once u get the hang of it and start posting some good content on this forum, then u can join one of the many signature campaigns ( like u can see i have a signature for which i get paid per post ). This is quite good way to earn bitcoins.

Another way is by providing services of ur skills for eg. graphics designing, coding, etc whatever you are good at for a reasonable price in bitcoins.

Regarding your questions about cloud mining i would suggest u search and read into it, there are alot of topics here on the forum.
Many of these cloud mining websites have no hardware whatsoever they just run a ponzi scheme. Still dont take my word for it. i am not expert in that.

The only thing to keep in mind is people SCAM in everything so just be carefull in what u invest your money and time.
Many of them out there are really good people trying to change the world.

and keep talking.. and having interactions.
