just because price is rising, it doesn't mean it is a "pump". you are using the wrong word in a wrong context. you think rise is equal to pump which is obviously a big mistake!
a rise is just a rise, it can have a lot of different reasons and when you see it is a solid rise then it has nothing to do with a "pump". a "pump" is the process of price rising but for fake reasons usually manipulation. this is the most  common thing happening among the altcoins. you can read more about the terms and educate yourself before using it for bitcoin: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pump_and_dump

you're making a lot of assumptions based off a single word. Learn to understand context please. I didn't say its a fake pump, I didn't say whales are pumping, dump incoming. I said it is pumping (aka rising) right now. As in Bitcoin just got a nice price boost, we're heading for $10k. Please, learn context.

Bitcoin is not pumping, it's price just growing. 6% for 24 hours is not a big deal for Bitcoin Smiley Waiting for something bigger.

Bitcoin has been lacking compared to ethereum lately. Even litecoin has been stronger the past few days. Ethereum is waiting for some regulation news on 7th of may which are supposed to be good for ethereum. That's why ethereum broke bullish first and it's taking some time for bitcoin to follow, funny that bitcoin is now following ethereum. I'm convinced ethereum will beat bitcoin in a few years.

Just hit $9700. Up >6% last 24 hours. Will we see $10k in the next 24 hours?

I think we are on the road for 10 000, soon we will hit it i think. In the long term we are bound for a launch over the old ath.
I am expecting 50 000 somewhere between 2020 and 2022.

Why not? I guess we are already on the way for $10k bitcoin price. I don't think it will happen in 24hrs as of now but why not? There is nothing wrong with being positive. Being a positive outlook on life is a good attitude.

Remember on how bitcoin stayed at $9,200 for long days and it didn't pushed through instead it went back to $8,800 - $8,900. The test to see $9,700 has come and we should see it first @ $9,800 - $9,000 before assuming that it can go straight to $10,000 for 24 hours. My opinion is it won't happen and 24 hours wouldn't be enough for that price, let's wait for 2-5 days and that can happen.
remember when price was stuck at $6k range and people were saying it won't go up and everywhere you looked somebody was crying about how bitcoin is falling down to $4k-$2k, etc? and remember when price went up to $8k level in less than an hour just because the dumping could not fight the buy support anymore?

Looks like the most pumped today is ETH.

where do you people get your information from?!!!
ethereum is not even in the top pump coins.

and that was just among the top 100 coins. over all looks even worse for ethereum

We will see but most likely we will cross it some exchanges if not on all in next dont think 24h but after this weekend maybe. Never seen been movement in price on weekend so i dont expect to see it now. Maybe we will see another stable price for upcoming day if price goes above 10k for this month, how someone consider this as option.

Will we see $10k in the next 24 hours?
Probably not since IMO the movement we have seen today is only the natural volatility of bitcoin, nothing more. As of the moment, the price is 9686 USD and it seems to me that there is a resistance going on that will prevent price to go up to the speculated price. I think the thread title needs to be changed though, from "were pumping right now" to "bitcoin price testing the waters". I think it would be more apporpriate.

I think that most of us who are involved in the cryptocurrency market are truly hopeful that the price will again break the $10,000 barrier in the near future, however I believe that even if this happens I do not think this is the expected jump to the great recovery that leads the price to return to new heights never before seen.

Therefore, it is advisable to be very patient in these days of great expectation and avoid making decisions motivated by emotion, because in the same way that the market has taken an important leap these days, in the same way and without warning it could go back again to $8,000 in next days.

We can just expect good things to happen in the upcoming 24hrs time, based on the price pumping that has been happening with minor corrections in between. Whenever majority of the altcoins grow along with bitcoin the growth happens for a longer time period with steadiness. Almost similar growth is taking place at present.

Seems like we tested 9700, went past it and inmedietly came back down (9630 right now)). 10k in the next 24h? Nah, I don't think we'll get there today, resistance still looks strong.

Maybe this news triggered a small FOMO buying wave? the news could've the "push" some people needed to finally buy. Or it could be the market just doing its own thing.

Yes and No. Obviously who knows? Chances are everywhere.

The chart is stating some good movements and positive speculations about continous price rise is predicted in the next following days. But we must understand that even how analyzed well the technical analysis is, it can be spoiled even how good the bullish momentum is.

For a long term traders, does watched it as the purpose is just to hold.

For short term traders, it will be a challenge on what things they should done at the current price behaviour. So all I can say is goodluck.

Finally cracking that $10,000 mark is a great achievement when it happens, but for me the real achievement is when we actually manage to stay above that mark. Forming base support levels above $10,000 is what matters.

I however doubt that it will stay above $10,000 since the main bottom is still far below that mark. Bottom development is a gradual process not caring about all time high peaks.

My best guess is that the bottom development will be >$7000, $7500, $8000, $9000, $10,000 and the list goes on. That's obviously assuming we don't experience another major bull run as the one from last year.

If we do, then we can make larger jumps instead of $500-$1000 steps.

It's interesting to see that, because the $9500 resistance has just been breached.

However, again, we're seeing a pretty evident pullback when bitcoin hits around the $10k level, even though this time round we have broken the major resistance that was holding prices back for so long.

BTC could break $10k in 24h, there is nothing that says it cannot. However, I believe that even if it does go above $10k the room for growth is pretty small. You have another strong resistance level at $12k, which means that ultimately we are going to see a strong correction even if BTC goes above $10k.

Too early to call it, as we've been in the same scenario only a week ago and it seemed that the fuel ran out at $9700 before it came falling down back to $9000, though there's a huge possibility that we'd break $10k given that we started this week with a solid baseline of $9000-$9400. A much needed correction already took place, which sent us @ $8700 only for the price to recover a few hours later. A well-timed positive news could sent us flying over $10k, though still there's not that much traction for it to push higher than $9700.

Right last time I fully expected a correction back to 8000s before going over $10k. That correction happened and now its back to 9600s/9700s territory so I think its ready to break through the resistance since we just had that correction. It could easily happen tonight, or it could chill in mid-high 9000s for a few days and then make the jump. But it should be soon.

Just like the last time we bounced from 6500 when there was a daily tightening pattern, this time we also had a daily tightening pattern, ethereum broke it first and jumped more than 10% in a very short amount of time, bitcoin followed a bit later though and we did break the last high of 9767 but only briefly, however it does look like it's going to give it another try as we are aproachinig 9700 again.
