well... i should have moved my money out of wex after the fail of btce... damn, i liked this exchange a lot...
lets wait and hope again...
I was able to log into WEX until about late November 2018, and soon thereafter there were continued changes in the WEX website location that I had found through
the official Wex tweets - but those changed WEX website locations did not function for very long either (a couple days at most). If you click above on the Official Wex tweets, the last tweet that is listed there was on December 5, 2018.
So even with losing complete access to WEX in early December 2018, there was the additional problem that most of us likely had - an inability to withdraw any funds from WEX after about July/August 2018. Was anyone able to withdraw funds from WEX after August 2018? If so, probably you had to convert them to specific coins that were "withdraw authorized", and how long did that last?
Furthermore, WEX's BTC prices (and other coins too) were out-of-Wack with other exchanges since at least May 2018. I cannot recall the exact date of the out of wackness, but that out-of-wackness seemed to have been the beginning of their starting to have withdrawal problems, and likely a run on the bank type of a situation that was contributing to their exchange prices being out of wack with others.
Where are we now? Are we ever going to be able to get back any of our funds? How does this play out? Who has our coins? Did the government seize the coins? Are they in some person's hands? Are the coins being used for legal expenses for Dmitry Havchenko or some of the other owners? Is Dmitry Havchenko the only known WEX owner in custody?
@nak333 those host entries didn't work for me.
I had a lot of money on Wex, it's my own fault for not taking the bulk of them off after the BTC-e debacle!
Let's keep on top of it, there is still a chance we can get our funds back.
As of mid-2018 (and surely into late 2018, since I was not able to withdraw any funds), I had a decent amount of funds on WEX too, probably more than I should have left there. I made some additional BTC deposits after they changed from BTC-e to WEX (which might not have been a smart move), and I never did cash out or trade any of my WEX tokens (that they had rewarded in late 2017 based on the social loss calculations of the July 2017 governmental seizure of their BTC-e website) because I had some (perhaps deluded) confidence that WEX was going to redeem my tokens full value, like they had proclaimed that they would (within no later than two years).
You seem hopeful, woocol, but I am having difficulties seeing how this ends with any kind of meaningful reimbursement for any of us for anything near the amount of value that any of us had in WEX's custody as of November/December 2018 or maybe claims to earlier losses that WEX caused upon us account holders.
as far as I know wex.sc is fake. Be careful
It is going to be a bit difficult to know if there is some kind of official announcement from WEX, and surely none of us should be clicking on links that claim to be the new WEX, unless there is some kind of confirmed assurances that link is provided by a real and legit WEX source.
Funny also, if our most up-to-date news about the status of WEX and Dmitry Havchenko comes
through WEX scam official tweets? Are there better sources, perhaps?
